Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.
I think I could really use more guidance to navigate the market, it is completely overwhelming, I've liquidated most of my assets and I could really use some advice on what best to invest into.
Your best option if you are unfamiliar with the markets is to seek advice or help from a consultant or investing coach. I know it sounds simple or generic, but talking to a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 65% since January. For me, it's the best method to enter the market right now.

Well, there are a few out there who know what they are doing. I tried a few in the past years, but I’ve been with Melissa Terri Swayne for the last five years or so, and her returns have been pretty much amazing.

Over the last 40 years look at household income vs. rent. Tax cuts for corporations and wealthy Americans. Shrinkflation and pretty decent corporate profits. Greed is good!

Preach!! Thanks for your honest take and calling out the MSM. I'm so sick of the CNBC market crew talking about how strong the economy and labor market are when everyone I talk to, myself included, is struggling. Everything is more expensive, and inflation has effectively left me with a massive pay cut since my income hasn't increased in line with inflation.
You're absolutely right about minimum wage as costs are just passed on to the consumer. The only way I see us getting out of this mess is for technology like AI to be the deus ex machina which allows us to boost production exponentially to drive down costs and create more goods. 🤷♂ I don't see how the fed will be able to cut rates this year otherwise.

I am 100% with you on that. My finances have only gotten worse (and the same goes for practically all of my friends and family). I mean we do the best we can and try to be smart with our finances, but things were definitely way better a few years ago.

They were not going to lower prices. Thus having to raise wages. Our government wouldn’t pass anything to regulate this either.
Also allot of this inflation is artificial when I worked at Campbells prices per package was like 1/8 of a penny more due to “inflation” so they upped prices roughly .60-.70… record profits.

I agree that companies are running un-checked with record profits. I think high interest rates and a recession (that is long over due) would've probably helped, but instead we're just letting inflation run wild and trying to catch it with rising wages. Just kicking the can down the road every year.

But I do agree with you that single-handedly raising the minimum wage does not solve the situation. As long as we continually spend more money that is actually coming in we will ultimately pay a price. Debt is what is killing us. Government, corporate and personal. 27% APR compounded daily.
Kudos to your mom for raising five boys single-handedly and pulling herself out of poverty . I just wonder if that's even remotely possible today.

Problem also is although they are raising the price of goods, people are paying for them. Unless people stop paying those inflated prices as people lack deal shopping, the higher prices will stick.
As for Mainstream media lying... The biggest problem that started this inflation explosion was the federal reserve by stating it was transitory. That made it inevitable that inflation would explode. They could have nipped it in the bud as soon as economy started recovering and there were clear signs inflation was exploding by raising rates but they chose to wait almost 2 years before starting
Yep! I think high interest rates for longer will force people to stop paying for them. Unfortunately, a recession is probably needed at this point cause we let inflation run wild and are now trying to catch it with rising wages. It's just gonna keep getting worse though

A little bit of inflation is good for the economy. Obviously it’s too high right now but we definitely don’t want deflation. Deflation can significantly crash an economy where no one wants to spend their money.
I agree, but this isn't a normal time. We keep kicking the can down the road in fear of crashing the economy. Maybe a crash is what we actually need at this point 🤔
We have the working poor while corporations are reporting record profits. Minimum wage should be a living wage. So NO it doesn’t damage the economy of you raise the minimum wage.
Corporations are making money because we're kicking the can down the road, using minimum wage as a scape goat for allowing corporations and inflation to run un-checked. A living wage would be attainable if we didn't have huge inflation. Chasing that with minimum wages will never fix the actual problem. Prices keep going up. Why not focus on bringing prices down instead of chasing them forever? (which has never been working).
