They didn’t let the actors play the games because the writer of the show is the writer of the game. Druckman was close with the other show runner and they both have extensive knowledge of the source material. They created the show and worked with the actors on characters they knew inside out. The writers of the Halo show were the ones that didn’t play the games. That’s why it sucks. It’s not the same

Same I like the episode but the changes to Bill and his part in the game in comparison to the show is and embarrassment to his character like we really didn't need to make this episode like we didn't need to see Bill develope a life long relationship with Frank to understand how much Frank meant to Bill we saw this when bill lost his composure and almost brought to tears at the sheer sight of Frank hanflging lifeless corpse they didn't need to show us his life story because that one moment was all that was needed to display to us the nature of their relationship something the show doesn't understand
