Interesting what you did with the drive shaft. The other tow companies i follow actually remove the whole shaft and place it in the cab. I follow Ron Pratt, Plaza Towing, Hal Watts Sumter Wrecker in SC and Pepe's.. Hal doesn't have a rotator but that man gets it done. I do love how people weren't moving over to the left lane while you were working and there wasn't a cop there even though they called you to do the job. Have a nice day and be safe. Love your dogs..
Local sheriff's deputy was on scene, just didn't get any footage. That drive line buddy is really convenient! Sometimes I still do pull the entire shaft, that's a case by case basis. Drivers won't move over even if there's a LEO on scene lol.
@@loudandheavy0311 Many moons ago back in the early 2000's I did a stint driving school buses and the conventional type had 2 U joints under them to prevent the drive shaft from hitting the road if the U joints broke on either end. I'm sure you have towed one or two so you know how long they are since they are built on truck chassis.
Had to retire with a bad heart,God I miss towing and driving trucks in general. Enjoy it guys. I was 59 and went in for D.O.T physical. I was done that day.Govt telling you can’t work is un-American.
Been very curious about those driveline buddies. Looks pretty simple. Get you some straps for the under reach for this light stuff makes it 10x faster. Good work.
Be careful out there son. So east to get hurt doing that stuff. Atlanta area is a tough area to work in and around. I am in middle Ga. just south of Macon and I hate driving to Atlanta....
I'm looking at getting into this line of work soon. Got an interview with a company, hoping it pans out. Been doing OTR almost 10 years now and kinda hitting the wall, getting tired of being on the road all the time. I wanna be home more so I can actually do stuff like cook in the kitchen, fish, bowling, whatever. No formal training in mechanical work, though I've certainly been mechanically inclined over the years. If I find a problem, I'll find a solution, be it research, asking for help, or improving if need be. At least being home more would give me the option of actually getting trained. I've always been interested in the wrecker industry, particularly the heavy side. Living up in Iowa, come winter I'm certain I should get plenty of practice in lol. Even if I take a bit of a pay cut, just being based outta home will make up for that. Though I think after I accumulate some experience in the field I should break even on revenue. Figure for now maybe I'd watch some more videos from folks in the field.
Great video….great work ethic, I’ve subscribed……look forward to following, , only one thing I would consider….you should put blocks under the steer tyres, while you have the front lifted and you are chaining the axles to the lift, if the hydraulics fail, you could be pinned under the trucks axle or body……👍💪
Idk if you will ever see this or use this but you can unlock the door through the hoods on internationals too lol I figured that out cause I was towing one and the doors locked when it started moving😭😂
I've actually been thinking about doing an inspection video and a 10 speed tutorial video. How's your school going? My GF just recently graduated and got her CDL, you got it bro. The pre trip test is a pain but you gotta pay to play!
@@loudandheavy0311 I am doing all right. Today, my instructor told me that I am 2 weeks ahead of schedule so that really makes me feel much better. The problem I have is that the school has old trucks and to just shift to 1st, it grinds a lot. 😅 Today I was evaluated for the pre trip and I passed. Thanks to god. I have the alley docking, straight back in, Parallel and off setting skills within my belt. My only struggle now is double shifting down. I know I will get it soon. It’s just those trucks are very, very old. Anyways, tell your gf congratulations. I’m next to obtaining this CDL A because all of my hope is on it.
You can leave the shaft in with the truck in neutral just as long as the engine is running while being towed. If the engine is not running you may destroy the transmission by doing so. This rule mainly pertains to the Automatic Transmissions.
Lately I've been using Omega chains, i go between the hooks on my receivers, around the axle, then hook into my receiver hook. From there I just put up the rest of the chain in a way it won't come apart and drag on the ground
Very professional, very thorough, very humble, and good editing. Keep it up! You are going to be wildly successful with this!

That's crossed my mind a few times. If I'm picking up something heavier than normal, i do put some kind of safety in place
Very nice video Brother and great job
Nice to see your video. Love and respect from Bangladesh
0:22 Wow its an old fashion coffee pot! I used to have one of those.
this looks pretty close to the top of the hill on 85S between the last newnan and greenville exit
sweet Pete! Subscriber 99 Look forward to watch your channel build up
Video popped up on my feed. Just subscribed! Hope all is well! Any plans on more videos?

Hey buddy. Nice hookup. I just hit the subscribe button. Keep ‘em coming. Be safe out there.
Do you watch RON PRATT
Don’t forget about HARD HAT
& the GO pro camera
The mount the go pro camera on the HARD HAT
I’ve seen you on the road ! Fellow wrecker operator 👌🏽
Hey man! Who you operate for? I'll wave at you like a crazy person next i see you
Great video
Whip around for the pre trip method?
You are the man
I’ve always wondered how that stuff works, interesting video. My question is who pays, does the county pay you
To be honest, I'm not really sure! That would be a great question I'll bring up next time at the office.
Bro you skipped the most important thing; that pre trip 😅. I’m struggling with that right now at the cdl school in Florida.

You've got it my friend, sounds like you have good instructors. They'll set you up for success.

3:36 there’s no need to keep it on. If it gets hot, it will come in by itself. It’s loud and annoying.
7am smh son we’re up at 0300 12 on shifts that’s not including TRIP calls lol 😂
Shiiii y'all can have that, I enjoy my home life too lol.
You were taught like a machine
I hope to be as good someday
Why can't the vehicle be towed in Neutral without disconnecting the driveshaft ?
Honestly, it might be able to. It's really more a company policy to get rid of the guesswork or just in case.
You can leave the shaft in with the truck in neutral just as long as the engine is running while being towed.

@@loudandheavy0311 I hear ya.
On the other hand, if it's a manual I just put it on the high side and let it ride.
Sucks you’re in a 10 speed with that old 3406E…bet it would really do something with a 13 or 18
10 speed is all you need.
All the other stuff is just for show. My opinion.
Does this job pay well?
What motor does your 379 has is it a Cat or a Cummins
It's got a Cat C15, 5ek series!
I build customed 1/32 scale semi wrecker trucks
I hope you get a guarantee every week
nice vid, new sub.
do you get paid by the hour or by the job?
By the job! Percentage from the commissions!
Subbed: stay safe out there.
Do you need a mechanical background to become a tow truck driver, or do they train you?
Having mechanical knowledge and skills definitely helps. Depending on what company you go with, they'll train you.
@@loudandheavy0311Hello. Can you recommend towing school in any state?
Is it powered by CAT or Cummins.
Cat C-15!
@@loudandheavy0311 how awesome
nice video, how did you chain up the axle?
Lately I've been using Omega chains, i go between the hooks on my receivers, around the axle, then hook into my receiver hook. From there I just put up the rest of the chain in a way it won't come apart and drag on the ground
Is that your truck?
It's a company truck, but I treat it as if it were mine 😁
I have dreams of owning one of those i currently own a box truck but a wrecker is big money
Respect.
Who do you work for? My son is wrecker operator. He's looking for work.
@@terrencehouse3249 Southside Wrecker service! Out of Newnan, GA.
That’s probably $1500 tow. You know because of Covid.
If it were a private tow instead of an impound, it wouldve been round about $500. We do our best to have fair pricing
It been there acouple weeks??? Wth lol
Sorry, lots going on this past month. I have a lot of content in the works!
Do tow companies in america and Canada not like kenworth 😊
I’m not going believe you a wrecker driver doing a pre trip ain’t no way 😂😂😂😂
Bro, gotta set the example when I'm the one rescuing the dudes that don't 😂

Imagine how much better & faster you could do your job if you put your phone down & use 2 hands…I know I know…crazy concept.
Huh? How else would he get the video? You banged your head or something?
