He isnt wrong. Ive been obsessively listening to Black Metal for the past 2 weeks and it is what I have been missing in my spiritual journey. It has helped me become more calm and content with thoughts & feelings in particular situations.
Well spoken and thought out discussions. Scandinavian black metal is so full of energy especially these guys and their material from Beyond the Apocalypse and Hellfire albums!
I honestly HATE the word "Spiritual" emphasis on the capital "S" indicating a proper noun. As an adjective, the word is harmless. But as a proper noun to refer to something as "Spiritual" implies ownership. Then there the assholes who attempt to force you into their religions by claiming that all things called "Spiritual" are property of "The Holy Spirit". When I lash out against "Spiritual" these are the kind of people I am aiming at. Freedom of religion doesn't give anyone a right to force their beliefs on anyone unwilling to partake. With that clearly stated, excellent music, guys.
All that matters is how relevant they are to you. I still listen to them and love their sound. There aren't many "relevant" black metal bands. Not a diss, but being relevant probably isn't the #1 concern of a group of guys when they decide to start a black metal band. A hand full of black metal bands are "relevant" and most of them kinda lost their magic.
Yeah, you know in their minds they are all measuring each other. Maybe it just seems like they lost their magic and what's happening is you aren't able to create new mental/emotional pathways to bond with the newer material. I have proved this to be the case by experimenting with nootropics. If you get the right stuff in your system it totally blows open your view on stuff you'd normally take for granted.

So you want to force people into a spiritual existence that is less formal?

WTF
Well, they have to be. They are from Norway 🤷🏻♂️
They are not as relevant as they once where..last two albums have been touch and go..
Relevance? That's something someone with an immature high school kid mentality would say.
Sad this band has that same mentality as does most of the metal scene...It's all one big dick measuring contest.

Black metal has never been about being relevant or trends.
