In episode 9 of our Paul Problems series, we will continue with a topic that was discussed in the last episode (EP8: The Thorn). In Acts 19, we're given the account of some Jewish exorcists who were unable to cast out demons "by the Jesus that Paul preaches". In Matthew 7:21-23, Yeshua tells us that even those who He has no relationship can successfully cast out demons, prophesy, and work miracles in His name. So what's really going on here in Acts? In this video, with Hashem's help, we'll discover the answer.
    Passages covered:
    -Acts 19:11-16
    -Matthew 7:21-23

I don't think your proposition is internally consistent. If one were unable to cast out the adversary by this Jesus Paul preached, then it would follow Paul also would fail to cast out the adversary when relying on that same Jesus, whom you said was an entirely different spirit than the true Messiah. If this needs clarification, please follow up with what needs further expansion.

I also have not listened to all your content, so forgive me if you've answered this elsewhere, but which books of the common Christian canon do you reject? Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your comment, I really appreciate it. Remember, anyone (even those without a true connection, Matthew 7:21-23) can cast out demons using the name of Yeshua - this would also include Paul. However, in the passage discussed in this video, we see that this was attempted "by the Jesus whom Paul preaches". Attempting this "by the Jesus whom Paul preaches" is different from commanding demons to leave in the name of Yeshua.
Hopefully that makes things a bit more clear, if not please let me know. Great question.

@@5SADH Since Luke was a companion of Paul's, I keep that in mind when studying those books. I don't consider the accounts to be as trustworthy as something written by John, for example, but I still study those books.
At the end of the day, I believe that we have the Bible that Hashem wanted us to have. However, our Bibles contain built-in tests that must properly be identified (and passed).
