You sound like Marshall on wristwatch revival ,your pretty good I need a microscope
I've heard that a few times now. I seriously do not hear any similarities. Marshall's voice is superb for this type of narration. Mine makes me cringe! Thanks though, lol. Yes, a stereo microscope was an absolute game changer for me. I'd highly recommend getting one if you want to delve into this hobby. I still have loupes (which I never really could get used to), and use them on rare occasion, but mostly I work under the microscope.
I agree about the voice, sounds a lot like Marshall's.
@@dale4034 Agree to disagree on that one, haha! I don't hear at all!
@@WeekendWatchRepair perhaps it's because you are both calm and clear.
@@dale4034Sounds good to me!
Can’t go wrong with a Hamilton. My favorite brand. I have 6 already. 5 modern and 1 vintage. Love them!
I am a fan as well.
This would be a nice edition to my vintage Hamilton collection.
Best of luck in the giveaway.
I love vintage dress watches like this one.
I do as well.
I really enjoy your channel and I applaud your Hamilton watch giveaway. As a Hamilton watch enthusiast, I ask to be included in the drawing. Again, thanks for your channel. It's very informative.
Thanks for the kind words. You're in the drawing!
I love the dial, on this gorgeous watch to win. ❤
It had a great dial on it indeed. Thanks for commenting.
I was surprised how good this watch looked on the inside. What a nice movement.
As was I. That ETA was in fantastic shape.
I love these watch revivals.
I enjoy them as well. After I got into watch repair, these videos helped me along my own journey, and eventually inspired me to try my hand at create content myself. Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment.
I was born in 1965. It would be pretty neat to have a beautiful watch like your Hamilton from that era. Thank you for the videos!
Thanks for watching!
Definitely NOT a large wrist, but excited for the opportunity anyway. Thanks for the generous offer Adam and congrats on reaching 1000 subscribers!
Much appreciated! It is not a large watch by today's standards, as nearly all of them weren't that were made during that time. It is however a typical man sized watch of the time. I personally have larger sized wrists so that is why I keep XL length straps on hand. This watch would probably look much better on someone with regular sized wrists than mine (which are 8.25"). However, it is a classic watch and I'd wear it still. I have other vintage watches that are about this size and wear them regularly.
Came across this channel as I'm new to the craft and going to be restoring/servicing a Seiko 6139-6012. Awesome to see someone who shows the full process of it all.
Thanks a bunch.
Your camera does an excellent job showing all the disassembly. Here's to one thousand more subscribers.
Thanks so much.
What a beauty. Simple and clean, makes a perfect watch!
Couldn't agree more!
I just started getting into vintage watches. I’d love to own an old Hamilton.
They are really great watches. Thanks for commenting.
Even if I watch other watch repair channels, RUclips didn't show me yours until this giveaway. I subscribed.
I'm glad it finally showed it to you! Thanks so much for subscribing and leaving a comment. Good luck in the giveaway.
Great stuff! I love the close up commentary when people do these restorations and services!
Glad you enjoyed it.
I was very impressed With the level of detail put in to this. My first video, but I will be watching more definitely.
Awesome, thank you!
Bought a Hamilton "Automatic" in 1955 "with my own money," on a weekly payments plan at Stephenson Jewelers in Valdosta GA. Later, in 1970, I used to hand it over the seat for infant son Scott, to "teeth" on the expansion band. In 2014, I gave him the old watch. He is now 56. The band still has his tiny teeth marks in it.
Jim Nichols Billings MT
That’s a great story!
The Bob Ross of watchmakers!
First time I've seen this moment serviced. Great job.
Thank you very much!
Thanks for the video of the restoration of this beauty. Really liked the camera work and montage.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi. I enjoy watching your content. It's very well made and I would like to thank you for giving away this wonderful piece to one of the subscribers. Congratulations
Thank you very much.
Nice to see how your channel is growing. Thanks a lot for your effort.
Thanks so much.
Thank you for doing a giveaway. I love watching restorations like this, and owning a watch that was in one of these would amazing.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks a bunch.
I can’t wait for that red dial watch you were talking about. I may want to but that one!!
Yeah, that one is something totally different. I haven’t even opened it up yet. I do not know what is in store for me on that one, but that’s part of the fun.
Lovely watch, lovely video with great commentary.
Whoever wins this Hamilton will be delighted to own it.
Many thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice work! I appreciate you thoroughly covering each and every part of the watch rebuilds.
I appreciate that!
Nice work. The Hamilton will make a nice addition to any collection.
I think so too!
Really enjoyed video. You keep it real and give a beginner hope that even a seasoned watch enthusiast can have a troubling moment. Thank you. Looking forward to more of your content.
Thanks for watching!
Great job. On a watch that was sold into the thousands it can't hurt the value that much. If it was a high value watch you would certainly think twice. Either way GREAT JOB!!!
Thanks.
I have enjoyed the channel and expect that 2,000 subscribers is not that far away.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos.
LOL! Awesome cleaning machine! Very jealous . My wife would kill me if I came home with that. I found a small ultrasonic cleaner at the Thrift store over the weekend for $11 bucks and I thought she was going to explode.
I cleaned many watch parts in an ultrasonic before I got a cleaning machine. I've still got an old L&R that I used in between the ultrasonic and the Elma. When doing ultrasonic, just keep any parts with shellac out of the cleaner, and do those manually (pallet fork & balance). Save yourself a potential headache!
Magical hands at work & a beautiful watch.
Thanks so much.
Classic watch. Great hobby! I built a DIY Watch Club Mosel for my son. I think it’s maybe an homage to this Hamilton.
Very cool!
Absolutely beautiful Hamilton. Glad I found your channel.
Thank you very much!
I love the pre-Swatch Group Hamiltons.
I do as well.
Thank you for the nice closeups of your meticulous lubrication of the movement during reassembly. It would be an honor to wear that watch, especially now that you have it running so well! I am a big fan of watching case restorations that match the condition of the dial and hands. Thanks for your effort in making this video!
Thank so much. It is quite a lot of work, but I’m really proud of the end result.
Found the Hamilton and stayed for the Seikos as well. Great work.
Thanks a bunch.
Cool watch. Good Luck to everyone!
Thanks for the comment!
Enjoy watching your videos. Looking forward to more.
Glad you like them!
There's a simple, understated elegance to vintage watches like this.
I agree.
I love classic simple designs like this watch's dial.
Loved the cleaning montage and found the video entertaining and enjoyable. A big thumbs up from me 👍.
Thanks so much.
I had a Hamilton railraod watch thqt was stolen by a relative. Now this watch comes along the year I graduated from high school. Really good videography. Wonderful narration.
Very sorry to hear about your Hamilton, but thank you for the kind words. Best of luck in the giveaway!
Amazing! You are a wizard 🧙♀️ 😄🔥🔥🔥!
Haha! Far from it, but thank you for the compliment! There are several people out there who are far more experienced and better than I am, but I do enjoy working on these old watches. Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment. Good luck in the giveaway.
Absolutely wonderful and idyllic timepiece sir, made even more remarkable by your attentive and enthusiastic restoration. Further, thanks for making it comprehensible to we layman.
Many thanks!
Hi Marshall, another great video on a beautiful vintage watch.
Thanks for watching, but I'm not Marshall. I will take that as a compliment though. HAHA
@WeekendWatchRepair Sorry Adam, long day... Very nice video though.. helped me wind down, ( pardon the pun ). Keep up the good work.
@@BrianLPotts Believe me, I completely understand. I had a long day as well. Thanks for the kind words.
Lovely movement and appreciate the great camera work.
Thanks so much.
That is one fine looking vintage Hamilton! I hope to add it to my modest collection.
Cool looking watch , i like the expanding bracelet but i like the new one too
I still have the bracelet, and it cleaned up well. Perhaps I'll offer it to the winner if they'd like to have it back on the watch.
I just found your channel. I find it so satisfying to watch others do this work, I wish I could do the same.
Thank you so much!
Awesome job and that watch is gorgeous. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on your hard work and dedication. Great narration too.
Thank you very much!
You hooked me with the Bell-matic video. I've gone back and forth on picking up one for a while. Now you've got me on the hunt again. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
Thanks so much.
Another great restoration
Glad you like it!
My grandfather used the same expandable band on his 1960's Rolex. He was missing some fingers so it did make it easier to wear the watch.
They were very popular around that time. More of the vintage watches I've purchased for future projects have come with that type of bracelet than any other.
Congrats on the ever expanding number of subscribers.
Thank you very much!
Congratulations on reaching 1000 subscribers. Love the camera work and of course the watch looks fantastic, will look even better on my wrist when I win the giveaway.
Haha, thanks!
Thanks for your videos,
I appreciate it, thank you.
I love Hamilton watches, where I win or not this is good content and a cool watch.
Thank you very much.
Classy timepiece! Congratulations to you!!
Thanks!
What a nice watch steel back. Erin Pitt born in Hamilton.
Thanks for watching.
This watch is very close in design to a watch my father wore as a child/ youth. Except his was a Caravel. I’m excited to fix that one up and get it running again at some point.
It'd be great project! Sentimental watches are always the best.
nice video, lovely watch, i realy appreciate that old watches are serviced and get used of another half century
Couldn't agree more!
Great work on an old classic.
Thank you.
Another great video. Good looking watch. Thank you for the video
Thanks for watching!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!! your enthusiastic explanations and descriptions will continue to grow your channel. thank you for the time.
Great looking watch appreciate the attention to detail in your videos.
Much appreciated. That is the one thing I really try to make sure I get on video is the detail items that often get overlooked. Even still, sometimes I manage to forget to hit the record button, like when I adjusted the balance wheel end-shake. Oh well, there's always ways to improve. I appreciate you commenting on the detail in the videos. That's really where I try hard to set my videos apart.
This was incredible, my gf grandfathers hamilton wasnt running so I offered to take a look , jumped on RUclips and looked for a video about vintage hamilton watches and sure enough it was an m-89-2 had no idea this was an eta watch , mivement was pristine but wasnt running and there was a dial screw missing.. blew on the balance and it would barely move with a puff of air , no wobble no excessive endshake just stiff ... took off the dial threw it under the microscope and there was the dial screw , jammed between the balance cock and the ratchet wheel , i cant take the balance off because the balance cock lip hits thexratchet wheel and i cant let down the spring because the screw is lodged into the ratchet wheel teeth .. so i placed my tweezers under the screw and lightly pryed and the screw flew out and tge balance started . Watch is running well now except the screw must have somehow broken the drive wheel pinion on the automatic assembly , so for now its a hand wind untill I source the wheel ...
I love a good hand wind, haha! I'm glad you found the video useful.
Really nice watch I have never seen a watch that the movement all comes out of the top of the watch 😊😊😊
One piece cases are less common, but you do see them from time to time when working on old watches.
The final result was amazing!
Thanks so much.
Thanks for producing such interesting and detailed content.
Thanks you very much.
Nice service. I found this video when researching my late 1960’s Hamilton automatic RGP diamond 10k white gold watch. It is all original including its mesh band. This was bought from the original owners son. It sat for the past 11 years in a drawer after the death of his father. I fully expected to have a service performed as nobody new if it ever had been done. Well this thing is rock solid running currently. I cleaned and polished it up and for now it will shine on my wrist until it proves it needs to be serviced.
That’s excellent! They made very solid watches.
Thank you for showing us how to do watches, something I really won’t to do . On the extreme chance that I win it would be awesome birthday present . Congratulations on one thousand followers .
Thank you and good luck!
What a way to celebrate a thousand subscribers, thank you and I hope your channel keeps growing up. Great content and I hope I win.😂
Good luck!
Cool Hamilton, and what a great result! This watch is the same age as me. 😊
That’s cool! Best of luck in the giveaway.
Absolutely love Hamiltons. Nice work. 👍🏼
Thank you very much.
That's a cool movement. Awesome to se the Lancaster PA mark in the case. Nice shot at 26:39. That was the first time I realized how the arbor holds the end of the spring.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Ironically, I’ve heard that same comment from a few people on different videos. It’s something I really try to make sure I capture on film if I’m not able to set the hook from the arbor in the main spring on the initial install attempt.
Very nice video you did a great job on this beautiful Hamilton watch
Thank you very much!
Thanks for keeping all your mistakes in the video and for your commentary on it. I have been very interested in watchmaking and all these little golden nuggets of information are so helpful to know! Love your channel and content sir!
Glad it was helpful!
I’ve had two Hamiltons a chronograph quartz from 1991 and a Khaki automatic from the late 90s. Both were lemons that needed repeated repairs until I gave up. My great uncle had his Hamilton winder from WWII that worked great until his death about 15 years ago. Really enjoyed this video
Thanks so much.
Nice old watch. My dad had one like it.
👍
Thoroughly enjoying your channel and your genuine and sincere style. Keep posting! I would love to see you do some classic Swiss chrono movements. Landeron, Valjoux etc. thanks again!!
Great suggestion. I have my eye on a couple, as it's something I'd really like to show on the channel. It is just a cost thing for me, as I am purchasing all of the watches shown on the channel. I've done my own Swiss chronographs before I began filming. Now that I have a channel to consider content for, I've been looking for a good project at a reasonable cost. Hopefully one of these days I'll find the right watch. It just has to be something that'll make for a good project, but also be something that I'll want to add to my collection once it's completed. I'm really glad to hear that you are enjoying the channel. Thanks a bunch!
Some vintage watches have a beauty in their simplicity when it comes to its aesthetics. But, as in this Hamilton, when you see it's movement and overall inner appeal, you truly appreciate the quality of its workmanship .!
I couldn't agree more.
Great video and really enjoyed watching this restoration.
Thank you very much!
Great watch and congrats on your success Adam!
Thanks a bunch!
Absolutely love watching your videos and have learned a lot from you. I am a "very" amateur watchmaker and just finished my first complete rebuild of a 60's Croton.
Thank you. Congrats on your first rebuild!
Nice and classic watch and very nice work, thanks
Glad you enjoy it!
During the pandemic I found the relaxing experience of watching someone fix such a tiny yet wonderful machine! Thanks for the good times haha
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the Chanel and I’m crossing my fingers for good luck!
Good luck!
The movement is so pristine for a 50 year old or so watch. Keep up the good work sir. Congratulations for reaching 1K subscribers.
Thanks so much. I agree, that movement was in phenomenal shape. Perhaps since it is a one-piece case, it was rarely ever taken apart. The winner is going to be getting a great watch for sure.
@@WeekendWatchRepair I wish everyone good luck! Thanks again for sharing a great video and giving away watch that has good heritage the winner will enjoy for a very long time.
Binged all your videos now. Love them.
Glad you like them. That means a lot to me. Thank you. There is a pretty big difference between the first few videos from 6 months ago and now. I hope that I continue to learn new and better techniques to film and edit these watches and the video quality will continue to improve.
Love what you do and don‘t change the format, it‘s great. Detailed video and great talk over. Thanks
I appreciate that! Thanks so much.
Excellent video. Now I'm looking for one of those because in my eyes it's beautiful. M89-3 in my sights!
Thanks a bunch. They are nice.
Anticipation is killing me !! Cannot wait to see who the lucky dog is that wins this !! I see 2.14 K subs Adam.... Very cool stuff!!
Thanks Donald. I just got back in town about an hour ago. I'm getting settled back in, and will record/upload the video tomorrow announcing the winner. I'm excited as well to see who ends up winning it.
Hamiltons are awesome!
I agree.
This is a beautiful watch ❤ looks really sleek
