Man I have to say that over the years you improved your content a lot. I remember that people were bashing your playing and tone. I think that you have a chance to become one of the biggest music youtubers if you'll keep up the good work. Good luck man!
EMG 57 seems to have more trebbes, EMG 81 more complete spectr of the sound including bass/medium. Howevever I don't think there is any bad one pickup, choice will depend on each person choice expectations.
I may have heard a slight tonal difference between the two but not enough to set them apart. Perhaps you can hear a difference in the room but online I can't. I like the looks of the 57/66s better. I'd buy whichever ones I could get the best price on............
81 and 85 always sounded kinda sterile with a fizzy top end to me. I swapped out the Zakk Wylde cammo set I had in one of my guitars for the Duncan Mustaine Livewire set and they sounded much more organic with a nice glassy top end. The 57/66 do sound a little more natural and focused and they actually seem like a nice improvement over the 81/85. I still get some of the best results when I wind my own alnico pickups and add a small onboard preamp.
Eric this may be a dumb question but what recording software would you recommend for cheap price and a good interface? i know you record your amps instead but i figure i would ask
Can't tell on my phone speaker, I'm not a massive EMG fan tho, I have 2 guitars with them in and they sound over bassey and a bit muddy compared to my other guitars, maybe it's because I don't play them at gigging volume or in a band situation. . .they do have a distinct lead tone which I like tho
I used to love EMG’s, until Seymour Duncan came out with their Blackouts. SD Blackouts have more clarity and punch than any EMG combo. EMG’s sound flat and lifeless in comparison to Blackouts.

Are you going to demo the new prs mt15 any time soon? It'd be great if you could compare it to the evh5153 50W and your other amps. Cheers!
FIRST... have to say I like the sound of the classic 81 85.

Trebbes lol
The 57/66 have been my favorite pickups since they came out
You can't go wrong with an EMG 81. You can even play country clean with em on the bridge pickup..
81 for sure. I've been wondering how the 57 sounds compared to the 81. I think I'll stick with my 81/60 combo. It's all I need.

How can you be head banging and playing super fast solos like the best head banging guitarist ever that has existed

I know nothing about electric guitars but im obssesed with metal so i think the 81 85 sound fucking amazing!!
Have 85/81 but will try the 67/66 next time around. a little more treble punch from the 57 which is cool.

I recommend Reaper, and a focusrite solo. Pretty solid stuff and very popular. Lots of reviews on both
Pro tools first is free or Reaper, as far as interface, focusrite solo or 2i2
Looking forward to trying out some 57/66's
I prefer EMG81 🤘
57/66 for me; But then again I haven't used EMG's in a few years, it's all about S Duncan Blackouts
I didn’t feel there was allot between them but 57 was slightly less harsh and maybe a little less compressed.
57 by a whisker.
Put the 85 in the bridge did that on my old shecter and loved it

Seems like the new emgs have a little more top end with a little more room to breathe tonally.
I love them both.
Love them both but i think i gravitate a bit more towards 81
Yeah I like the 5766 better
Sounds nearly identical to me... but i prefer 57
On my phone to 57/66 sounded punchier and brighter
57 66 sounds way interesting
Second lol.....i am from slovenia (europe) and i am drunk and hight so much lol....good night

Yes which is why i love then the cut threw the mix so will! I use them for rythem and i used blackouts metals on twoface which i loved too!
Honestly I think most emgs sound the same. Not a fan of any of them. Prefer the blackouts by Seymour duncan
Do another video with hater comments that was awesome
81 85
but what ever mic or pre amp you're using sucks lol
57/66 sound warmer and with more crunch
