Now it's nice that crew is back together (silent moment for Tech) & looking forward to see how they play together from S03E05 forward. Also when Ventress appears, ah exciting times. The thing I noticed the most from this episode: This is the first time Omega seems to have given the order to kill. There was a moment she assessed the situation, took stock of all options availible... and asked Crosshair to open fire, knowing it would result in the deaths of many.
    I'd love to see you talk about that, and how it may affect development in someone like her who's clearly already emotionally mature but still hasn't had the life experience to contextualize being a combat officer in war.

    I feel bad for Crosshair. Not only because he's always had trouble making friends, as that doesn't seem to really bother him that much. But rather, after everything he's been through, he's started to develop a trembling in his hands, which makes it a lot harder to pull off the perfect accuracy trickshots he used to do, and I feel like it wouldn't do what remains of his mental health any good to find that his trembling hands make him unable to even use what skills he has to help what friends he does have.

Omega seemed to trust in his abilities as well.

    Omega isn't unmodified, she was the first modified clone, an aberration. She is one of the oldest clones like Boba and doesn't have degraded Fett DNA. That means they could use Omega or Boba to start a new line of Fett Clones. Season 1 made it crystal clear that Omega is one of the "Freaks" like the Bad Batch and is the 5th modified clone.

      @TeenageMutantZuckerTurtle 7 месяцев назад +2

      The reason that Bad Batch just *works* so much better than most of the other Disney shows is that Filonni and his disciples are in their home medium: animation.
      With animation, the same type of silly and lighthearted moments that make us roll our eyes in live action feel right at home, yet TCW and Bad Batch have also shown us time and time again that they’re still more willing than the average “kids show” to tackle darker themes and emotional gut punches.
      While Bad Batch arguably hasn’t hit the same absolute highs that TCW hit during its 7 seasons, I consider it the true successor to the original show; it pretty much perfectly captures the style and vibe of TCW that Rebels noticeably lacked for its first few seasons.
      It balances what could have been a purely miserable and depressing story (the discarding of the clones) with TCW’s Lucas-like sillier moments to create something that manages to tug on the whole range of human emotions.
      As a side note, it’s crazy how the animated shows (even Rebels) have handled the permanence and weight of death so much better than Disney’s live action. Resurrections are RARE (Ahsoka and Echo being the two I can think of) so when a beloved character dies it actually hits hard because they truly feel gone. This actually makes fake deaths work better too, because it’s actually a genuine surprise when “dead” characters return instead of being an eye-roll worthy “of course they’re not dead” moment.

      @@TeenageMutantZuckerTurtle although I think Dave has written himself into a corner in regards to Ahsoka. But I still think the 2008 TCW, the Bad Batch, Rebels, Rogue One, Andor, Mando Season 1 & 2 are the few decent things in Disney.

    • @TeenageMutantZuckerTurtle
      @TeenageMutantZuckerTurtle 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@merafirewing6591 When you list them all out Disney does have a net-positive track record when it comes to the raw number of good releases vs bad, ON PAPER. The problem is that the bad (cough cough sequels) weigh so heavily on the overarching lore that they’ve done so much damage that it’s gonna take dozens of small successes to outweigh the larger failures.
      And that’s if they stopped making dumb decisions cold turkey and only put out good things going forward, which probably won’t happen. 😭
      Tbh if it weren’t for the sequels, then the recent “meh” projects (the entire live action TV catalog outside of Andor and Mando 1-2) would be a lot more forgivable. But the sequel trilogy set the tone for Disney’s ownership of Star Wars, and they’re gonna need to do a lot better than “meh” to earn their way back into fans’ good graces.

    Omega is always just enough to be dangerous:
    She knows everything she needs to know, she feels everything she needs to feel, and as those two things come together, Omega has become an unstoppable force for good
    Just like Cassian, or Luke, or Han, Chewie, ANY of the good guys are ALWAYS exactly what they need to be
    Ultimately, Omega is the youngling spirit of the Mandalorians, just like Gunji is the youngling spirit of Jedi Wookies, and Boba is the youngling spirit of Bounty Hunter ladies’ men across the galaxy
    Omega is the leader of the Bad Batch: SHE is who actively works to inspire them to achieve more than they think they can - JUST BY KEEPING UP WITH THEM, but also by surpassing them and their capabilities, even saving them at times…

    I couldn't Agree with you more Allen about Omega's "Special Abilities" which maybe Force related to the point later at the end of the season they manifest and grow to where she might have to go off with a another Jedi Survivor for training as Padawan, though leaving her clone brother's would be sad, i'm sure they would understand , the story Possibilities for how these Remarkable and well loved Star Wars Characters Like Omega and her Brothers comes to and end ...for now is Hopefully done well for them and us Fans 😁

      I'd prefer her not to be force sensitive. Jedi's have their place, but I find it cheapens them if each exceptionally well preforming character becomes one.
      The force shouldn't be a magic cheat code explaining why a character is extraordinary, there should be people who are like that without the force.
      Jedi, Sith and other clearly force sensitive character should be exceptional, yet still require extensive training to develop their potential.

    It is kinda sad knowing that it was Sabine chosen as Ahsokas padawan and not omega? Ahsoka could have really emboldened and shaped omega to be her very best.

    That Imperial Captain is actually good for that planet: he only caused a scene on a place he controlled.
    Their chemistry and set-up was good.
    That CO needed situational awareness and should have held animals in different areas.

    Both characters have some of the most contrived, nonsensic, and horrendously written arcs i have ever seen in fiction. Truly a perfect pairing. 🥱
