Just want to say that I've loved every interaction with Safer I've had. He's a fantastic person.

Secret scoops: Dawn is actually called System Gateway II: Electric Boogaloo

I'm really looking forward to seeing Dawn as a way of solidifying the faction identities.
As a returning player, I've seen a *lot* of bleed between the factions on what they can and usually do. With this rotation, I'm really hoping we see the "faction pie" shoring up, in whatever form NSG decides 😊

So I'm happy even with "punk blue" or "nerd blue", as long as we have interesting events like Steelskin Scarring and Deep Dive.
Because what I like most about Criminal gameplay are the events (versus running in general, although I love Sable and Ken), since they're a Runner's primary hidden information (no `Resource: Hidden` like ONR), except for a few cards like Street Peddle (SMC doesn't count for obvious reasons) or even fewer IDs like Ari. While still being interactable via damage (as well as the Corp guessing or playing around conditions like `Play only if you've made a successful run on HQ this turn.`).
That's also why Geist feels so Criminal (despite being called "Blue Shaper"); trashcan cards from Shiv to Revolver are quasi-Events.

This was a great listen and really has me excited as I'm actively working on bringing a lot of new friends over to netrunner And being able to get them in playing with two packs of cards is going to be cool

I really respect how tight NSGs OpSec is!

That's why I love Tomorrow's Headline and Above the Law from System Gateway: they're elegant (short, clear rules text, but with a lot of interesting gameplay, as well as teaching about faction identity). Although I wish Longevity Serum did 1 net damage (or something similar); since when I hear "Jinteki", I think "Neural EMP" before "Genotyping" or even "Shipment from Tennin" (despite Moon Pool being super fun and feeling super red).

Dawncore sounds like a really fun aesthetic 😂

Yeah. IMHO, a Corp "mini-faction" could maybe span across the four factions, like “Ice-matters” (and not stand alongside them like the Runner mini-factions do, so not really the same thing at all), and focus on a specific card type or game action. For comparison and as a compromise, take a neutral Corp ID with 25 influence that can splash ice and agenda singletons without influence cost (so the best of Professor and Ampère), with "in-faction" non-ice (like neutral operations that cost two influence for non-neutral identities).
Relatedly, the neutral 2inf Alliances had constraints like "50 or more cards in your deck", "7 or more assets in your deck", and "15 or fewer ice in your deck".
Flavorwise (because what we love about mini-factions is both the deckbuilding weirdness of directives/facedowns but also the aesthetics), the fifth Corp faction might be The State or The Mob (or whatever); being distinct from--but not unrelated to--megacorps. (Otherwise, why not just a Subsidiary? All four are very financially diversified and can be vertically integrated.)

    Lots of interesting insights here!
A piece of feedback: When the person you're interviewing is about to start talking, please don't interrupt them just to restate the question or elaborate on it. Just let them talk!

Best episode ever for the prolific use of the word "rad."
FR, though, great questions and conversation!

This wasn’t a deep dive. More like insight.
I was hoping for spoilers but I guess it’s too early. Looking forward to Dawn release!

Rotation will leave such an huge design vacuum that need to be filled by this one set... and at the same time it opens up for such an exclusive opportunity. Toitoitoi!

BTW, beyond how many dozens of interesting decisions it provides, I also like Spin Doctor's clickless-but-mandatory draw over Jackson Howard's, because (a) it's cleaner, and (b) you add two cards to R&D only after taking two cards out of R&D.
I only wish it were neutral (hashtag ZeroInfluenceSpinDoctor).

I really hope we have some kind of pressure valve in Dawn that allows R+ to be unbanned going forward. It feels really akward to have a core ID banned 😅.
Same goes for the 3 agenda score limit in Startup!
