Hindi Diwas

This day is observed to commemorate the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur, Maharashtra, in the year 1975. This was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi. 122 representatives from 30 countries attended, making this a significant move to promote Hindi on an international platform! The first conference held was to recognize Hindi as a universal language and to promote its global presence! Hindi is written in Devanagari script, and Article 343 in our constitution recognizes Hindi as our National Language. Hindi is the 4th widely spoken language in the world.
