The irony in this song is "you feel your heart beating faster", Eric actually passed out doing this song live in a rehearsal and found out he has a heart condition. Pretty sad really.
I have seen hundreds if not thousands of live show and honestly the i prevail screamer is one of the most impressive i have seen live. This song is dope as always
I'm so glad you mentioned hearing a bit of Billy Talent! The first time I heard this song I definitely caught that vibe, I listed to a lot of Billy Talent in highschool so it just popped right up in my memory banks.
the clean singer didnt want to be a metal singer, originally he was singing pop but he learned to love the heavier stuff, but still has the pop almost rap voice and brings it into the metal songs, which is pretty cool

this song live fucking went OFF, saw them at the brissy show & even though Brian was feeling sick they all killed it. easily one of the best bands i’ve ever seen live
Went to see MIL on Sunday in Melbourne and didn't really know these guys that we'll. Absolutely blown away by their performance, incredible show and one if the cleanest FOH mixes I've heard in a long time! Cannot wait for the album release!

Don't know if im the only one that thinks this but i really felt like that chorus sounds like it could've been a Zebrahead chorus from the early 2000's
I just can't help but to compare it to their last album, and this just isn't good to me. The heaviness is off, the chorus isn't catchy, and it just doesn't have that feel to it like their last album did. That's just me being a huge I Prevail fan and expressing my disappointment.
not to mention, their most recent single Bad Things sound salmost exactly the same as Deadweight... if you listen to both chorus' its almost exactly the same chord progressions and melody :( Bit disappointed in it tbh
