It's a business and not playing the best player bc of empathy will get you fired. Billy would lose the locker room and they players won't play with the same intensity. The WRs knew DJ could get them the ball, so they were playing faster and harder. We need to ride this momentum into next week bc right now, those players believe they can hang with anyone, but if we go back to mertz, we will go back to the dink and dunk offense

Dj is a beast I'm not a Florida Gators fan but the kid is definitely a baller but if I'm Florida I'm still concerned because there is no way in hell you're playing Samford and you are only up two touchdowns going into half that's not going to cut it in the SEC
Billy Napier is getting canned either way, but if he pulls Lagway he should be out the door right away. 4-8 is the ceiling for this team. Getting DJ and the other freshman ready for next year is really all that matters.

Mullen went 29-9 his first three years and got canned, I just didn’t see Napier making it. But starting with the Tennessee game the Gators honestly have looked like a playoff worthy team when Lagway is healthy. I still think Napier blew it big time by not going for 2 at the end of that game (imo you have to go for the win on the road with a true freshman QB) but otherwise he completely turned things around on a dime. He absolutely earned more time as head coach. And as long as Lagway and Baugh don’t jump ship, the Gators should start next year ranked in the top 15. The schedule the Gators played this year was also insane, easily the toughest schedule in the country. I never thought I could be happy with a 7-5 season but as long as we take care of business Saturday I will be.
I would say napier would have to be stupid to not start him because he is the only hope of saving his job but napier is stupid so i fully expect mertz to start
