- I just stumbled about a new film titled "Riverdance", an animated film using elements and of course the music of the original Musical! (...is it a Musical...? In my eyes not...it´s an origin).
I spent about 6 weeks in Ireland in summer/autumn ´96, came back to Germany, switched on my TV and saw this version of "Riverdance" with a stunning open mouth and...I started crying because of missing Ireland!!
This video is not for commercial interests, but just to watch and enjoy it!!!!
I have no rights on this video neither own it (only the DVD that I bought...;-) )
So, if there are any problems by publishing it, please contact me before unleashing a court dispute...

Man…. I’ve always been obsessed with this. I recorded it on a VHS when I was a teenager, watched it all the time. I could even tap out the rhythm of their tap shoes with my hands. I had it all memorized. The Irish in me sings whenever I hear it and watch it.

We can feel the passion they have, I watched for the first time when I was a child, it's growing with me since then, love this production so much... They are the soul of the spectacular

I was lucky enough to see Riverdance in Killarney when there a few years back….so exciting to see it in its country of origin.i love this version….Colin Dunne dances circles around Michael Flatley and from all I’ve read is a much nicer person too! Glad to hear that! I was looking for the original DVD in the Internet and didn´t find it anywhere until I realized, that my parents gave it to me as a birthday present about 25 years ago! It was on my DVD shelf for the whole time😂😂 even finally I found it and digitized it for youtube!!

Yes I'm a fan, unfortunately I never got to see , but I used to do a little Irish dancing at my local pub ,everybody loved it and always thought I was Irish now I'm diagnosed with osteo perossis x

This is the version of Riverdance I got to see on TV for the first time and I fell in love with. Jean Butler and Colin Dunne have so much chemistry there and also the specific numbers in the show (American Wake - Lift the Wings, Heal Their Hearts - Lord Where Is Our Freedom, Oscail an Doras, Homecoming) are amazing!

The 1995 Dublin VHS is better with Michael Flatly
This is the TOP production of Riverdance, I think.. best stage, best band, best dancers, best singers, best arrangements and best music! And new numbers from the original, like an updated Trading Taps, Eileen and Maria’s “duel”, the Harvest with Eileen’s electric fiddle, etc.
I agree. There is also a nice balance of style in this production. The dancers don't flourish too much, neither are they too stiff. They all have good form (not that I'm a dancer buff).

I would have to agree this one set the tone of the future shows, it was also one of the few shows that had a full on band, the current shows are a few musicians playing with recorded music.
I had this on DVD. One of my favorite segments is "Thunderstorm". Has anyone else noticed how Pat Roddy, ( the lead dancer in that segment), looks an awful lot like former NFL quarterback Tom Brady ? 😱 The only issue that I have with this version of the show, was that 2 of my favorite pieces of music, were removed ; 'Macedonian Morning' and 'Andalucia'. If you have ever seen the original, unedited version with Michael Flatley, in my opinion, those are 2 of Bill Whelan's most beautiful compositions and there was no need to remove them from the show.😮 I realize that after Michael Flatley left, the producers re-tooled the show but those songs did not feature Michael and in fact, Andalucia, was Maria Pages, second dance piece. That was better than the "heartbeat of the world" dance that she did with Colin in this show.

ThanKs for this HD version. I still have the DVD, but great I can watch it on mobile devices. I remember a good version was online but it was taken down. I hope this remains longer.

I wrote it in my dsecription, that I own no rights and that it´s non-commercial...and since yet it worked...😉 For me, this is art and culture and should not be withheld from anybody. So, give yourself a boost. Anyway, it´s of course your choice.

While I "get" that video viewing audiences want to see "their" loved one up close, the editing of all the Riverdances I've seen had been retched. I don't need to see one second of feet tapping and one second of the line and one second of someone's face. When these 3 sets of partners are on I was to see the whole thing, maybe from different angles, but the WHOLE thing. I have a short attention span but it's not THAT short.

Sorry he is so high on himself, and the girls look so unhappy, you can see he is trying to ding them all. Sorry as a father he would dance better having his part removed the girls look so unhappy. Excuse me?!!! Are you confusing Colin Dunne, ( this lead dancer), with Michael Flatley ? Michael was the playboy... He was the one that couldn't keep his hands to himself!!!! 😮 Go ask his first wife, she'll confirm it. I don't know what show you were watching but I've never seen a group of performers having so much fun, as they are in this show; that's partly what makes it so special and memorable, they were a family and they truly enjoyed what they were doing. That is why it continues to endure and it holds a special place in people's hearts 27 years later. Today being November 2/2023

PS. Ich habe damals Michael Flatley in Lord of the Dance live gesehen. Das war auch sehr sehr schön😘👍. Riverdance Live zusehen bin ich nie zugekommen. Wobei ich sagen muss das mir Lord of the Damce mehr gefallen hat aber das ist ja Geschmackssache 😊. Damals hab ich mich dafür begeistert. Heute ist es nicht mehr so meins. Trotzdem danke dir nochmal fürs hochladen ❤.
...fahr mal nach Irland und setz´dich in eine kleine Kneipe...du wirst es direkt wieder lieben, denn es ist da Kultur und Tradition, und nicht Kommerz..."Lord of the dance" war überhaupt nicht meins...reiner Abklatsch aus Eitelkeit und überzogener Arroganz...aber darüber kann man natürlich streiten...oder auch nicht

@@Enk288if you Google 'Riverdance' and go to the official website. Tap on 'videos' and there is an upload of the version with Michael Flatley. There are versions where some of the Dance segments have been edited, so be sure to look for the video with the longer "run time". That is the FULL show
