the adventures of al sirafi sounds soooo good! I want to jump back in to fantasy!!! I really appreciated the craft that went into Kindred. Im gonna binge reread the saga books and catch up!! I think I’m 2 behind. I need to read Babel and Jade City!!!

I feel like I have to be in the right mood for Babel!! It feels like an autumn read to me. Saga is so good but it can be so sad :

Oh wow, I also just read Kindred and loved it. Which Butler should I do next?

I would probably suggest Wild Seed! It is the first book in the Patternist series and is similarly a historical fiction novel, beginning in 1690, with some fantastical elements. You could also, alternatively, skip that and read Mind of my Mind, the second book in the Patternist series, set in the 70's (it's comprehensible as a standalone). I have only read Kindred and the Patternist series, so from my experience, that's what I would recommend for now!

Kindred is so good! I’ll get you into historical fiction some day! 😂

Haha I used to read more historical fiction a few years ago! I'm actually reading The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson for a book discussion-- it's historical fiction. I think you would like it! Takes place during the 1950's.

My best book read so far is Near-Death Experiences and Others by Robert Gottlieb. Biggest surprise The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes.
