@@bandadoc5715 I spar at my local boxing gym the reason is mainly do light sparring why I don’t do hard sparring if at all is 1 I am not a pro boxer 2 I am a amateur boxer who does it for enjoyment 3 I do have a job to go to normally unfortunately boxing does not pay my bills if I broke my nose or hand in sparring I don’t think my employer would be pleased 4 the people I spar with are mates I don’t need to beat or get beaten up badly 5 if you constantly do hard sparring and need to check into a hospital every time after a spar I suggest you move gym

Haney showed heart. Gotta respect him for that. He could've chosen to fight on his back foot, but he didn't. Still, though, he showed an overrated defense and confirmed he has no power worth talking about.
In boxing, it's the punches you don't see that hurt you. So someone without power can still knock out his opponent. But when your power can't discourage your opponent or at least be enough to get your opponent off you long enough to unload your combinations, then you're in for a long night. Devin had no business going toe to toe with Ryan.

I'm glad you mentioned in order to be a fighter in any combat sport you have to have an ego the size of a planet. I think people get too emotionally involved in that aspect; maybe because they don't like that particular fighter. We all know you can't win against everyone but it has rarely happened. We know styles make fights. Ryan's style proved to be detrimental to Haney's but against a Tank Davis he would've been countered throwing that hook out like that.

I think it may be doubtful whether, after this beating, Haney gets his confidence back. Very few fighters can rebound after what he went through. There are even some fighters that get knocked down and hurt once and never get back. Some examples are Miguel Berchelt, Peter Quillin, and even Danny Jacobs.
