"single best piece" Then I guess he doesn't do any research before he starts talking, because he is wrong about wages and Inflation, all the data I can find shows wages keeping up or exceeding inflation.
@@Build_the_Future that’s completely wrong. If you look at real wages they have been in decline since the 70s. This is the kind of conversation I want to have at dinner parties and small get-togethers! I think we are in the beginning of transitioning out of a monetary system entirely. We will probably have to begin valuing qualities rather than physical objects. This means everyone will have adequate housing, power, food, and basic needs and we will value qualities like tolerance, open-mindedness, curiosity, exploration, valuing all forms of life. In order to get there, we will have to mature our emotional development. These themes were touched on at the end of the video and I would love to see conversations around those themes. GM the point is both not having jobs or money to realize their dreams like family and a home or taking care of the old, the left and the right both hate being disowned by the ultra rich, they just have different solutions for the demographic problem: the right wants to reproduce their own kind and the left wants to import workers/slaves under the guise of empathy and redistribution
Raoul defines the right as being about supply-side, trickle-down economics (basically Thatcherism/Reaganism). Right-wing populism is the precise opposite, it is the rejection of this type of free market economics. Trump promised tariffs and nationalist, anti-globalist policies. Right wing populism is about putting ones own nation/people (populus) at the center of politics rather than abstract "markets" or other nations/people. Also, Raoul constantly bangs on about demographics while conveniently skipping over the most striking demographic change in the West since the 1960s...
@@tishagonzalez725 Nope. This is where you're all dead wrong. Blind, bleached consumerist minds lost in the maze of delusions. You're in for a very rude awakening.

Man, what an interview. I have seen you both speak many times and it's always informative and brilliant but this was something different. You took us way down the rabbit hole and I don't know if I'm optimistic or terrified by what I glimpsed. A little of both I guess.
Raoul is brilliant, of course, and everything he says here is correct, apart from just the bit at 1:55 where he says "humans will walk the middle line, as they always do". He starts with a description of two world wars, how can we imagine we can weather the stresses he describes without a chance of wars? Seems to me it isn't going to be about money or the metaverse.
@@CoexistenceSteven Yes, the world is here, the people are here, but too many of them simply don't understand what is happening and they are angry. Raoul thinks in calm tones. I am worried that angry people don't think, and dictators don't make sense to people like me/him/us
Love this! Just curious ... it seems we are skipping the GEN X who are tech savvy also with ambition to still finding assets and start up mentality. Still 20+ years of working and saving and have been fairly early adopters to Crypto?
Interesting discussion thank you, some issues on points raised, no reasoning on how electricity costs drops to zero. If it is zero, who pays for the maintenance, development of new networks (hardware) and day to day operational costs. AI, doesn't replace trades eg carpenters, electricians, plumbers, stone masons, chefs etc. AI is not sentient, only source code written by numerous programmer(s). With UBI, people can follow their passions rather than having to work in order to simply pay the bills, it not that hard to fathom or digest, personally this outcome would be awesome for many leading to healthier happier individuals and families.
Raoul crystalized and verbalized a lot of the thoughts about events and contributing factors that have been swirling in my head; kind of like a forced settling of the snow globe in my head. Brilliant interview! Thanks Robert and Raoul!
Fantastic discussion you have there. What a great "condensé" of 100 years of history into our digital age. Thanks to both of you for your great insight. I'm a big fan of both of you, trying to bring at a very modest level this type of content to my French audience. Getting the big picture clearer and clearer in your head is the path to real sight, real vision 😊. It definitely helps the few of us who take the time to grab it and digest it. Thank you again 🙏
This question of who owns the robots sounds a lot like the problem Raoul was identifying with who owns the collateral in the financial system. I have speculated that you would have robotic labor union decentralized autonomous cooperatives, where human labor cooperatives own the robots, and rent them out to entrepreneurs so they can produce goods and services.
This same thought went through my head the other day. I also think when the DAO system is more fleshed out and an agreed international standard forms after any problems are solved in the coming years, every company could and should become a DAO
@@iambenmay wow just wow. Cryptocurrency will crush the world's standard monetary systems. I believe we shouldn't have paper money backed by debt. Every dollar is a Bill you own and not capital for its debt.

Robert's usually so on point and yes we all do love BTC but he just seemed like a Priest of BTC rather then having a tangible conversation with Raoul, Raoul was trying to put across a point about a certain portion of time and it seemed to go above Rob's head at least three times. As i said he's usually on point and Raoul is just Raoul, well thought out and spoken as always! Generally a great convo guys!
The greatest (or the most important) content in years. What a shame it has only 38K views atm - and i bet only 10% watched the whole of it - while cute kitten videos have millions .
Wow, Raoul has a lot of interesting thoughts on the future. The one thing I can’t get my mind around however, is how does electricity or energy in general become practically free? Can anyone explain his thought process there?
On leg of the solution: solar keeps getting cheaper at an exponential rate based on continuous technological advancements, battery technology also keeps advancing to store this power, energy grids become decentralized so not losing power to transmission. Add in AI to keep exponentially advancing these along with reductions in energy use due to productivity advancements and pretty soon there is more energy than required so costs keep coming down and we live in an energy surplus world. Theories show that it will happen by 2035
@@jordanhuscroft3057That is a compelling theory but I would juxtapose that against our recent history of increasing technology and efficiency, yet increasing cost to the consumer, across the board on all types of energy. It just comes down to limited resources pitted against unlimited needs and desires in my opinion
@@dander0091 in a Bitcoin standard world the tech is constantly deflationary and continue to work towards zero. In a fiat based system the cost may still continue to rise, which isn’t saying the costs are actually getting more expensive, just that fiat is being inflated faster than the rate of technologically induced deflation.
Something is unclear about your thesis: you talk about two many people in the work force driving down prices and second you talk about the mass migration out of the work force. Ether you need to explain this better or if you cant then the issues might have alternative reasons. Maybe its just unclear throughout the interview but I would love to hear the reconciliation to this inconsistency
I say this often these days it seems, but this was the best interview I have ever watched. I am pretty sure the last one I said this about either involved Robert or Raoul.
There’s an air of transcendent wisdom in this video.... something tells me this will be played and viewed for many, many years to come. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about these things, combine it in your mind, and share it with the world. Absolutely love it. My conviction in migrating over to the metaverse has really been cemented in this talk.
The ultimate constraints of the metaverse will be cpu cycles and storage bits. The endgame currency. And how does energy get to free? Solar and wind will get cheaper but free? Even fusion won't be free since reactors need to be built and fuel will have some cost.
I think he has overstated it. I think raw energy may tend towards zero but there will always be some handling or maintenance costs inbuilt. That is unless some cartel is able to control it. I am in Australia. there is no limit to the amount of solar energy we can produce. Storage and shipping is another issue. There there is geothermal, wind, hydro and natural gas if fossil fuels are still needed.
The ultimate constraint of metaverse is human's capricious nature. People will eventually get bored with novelty concepts and move onto the next shiny thing. This concept of metaverse ain't even new; playstation home, star citizen, 2nd life, all eventually settled into their own little niche and still remain a niche. This is just another re-iteration.
Unless Raoul is envisaging a paradigm shift whereby we move away from 'cheap' fission and even the much awaited fusion and (re)discover and harness zero-point energy ?

@@CoexistenceSteven Yes, the world is here, the people are here, but too many of them simply don't understand what is happening and they are angry. Raoul thinks in calm tones. I am worried that angry people don't think, and dictators don't make sense to people like me/him/us
@@krypton9984 yeah i feel you..... i guess i always stick to the optimistic side. Nature always self organises
Ohh and this content is brilliant. I highly appreciate Raoul's comtribution here and commitment to paint the landscape!
Love this! Just curious ... it seems we are skipping the GEN X who are tech savvy also with ambition to still finding assets and start up mentality. Still 20+ years of working and saving and have been fairly early adopters to Crypto?
Us GenX-ers are always skipped. At least the demographers are consistent.
One of the best interviews of the year. The history lesson given was key to the breakdown of the present.
Hey Raul, thanks so much for your recommendation, I didn't have wine so I got myself a glass of brandy instead 🥃😉
Raoul crystalized and verbalized a lot of the thoughts about events and contributing factors that have been swirling in my head; kind of like a forced settling of the snow globe in my head. Brilliant interview! Thanks Robert and Raoul!
Thank you Raoul this has been the first time to realize the complete picture. Brilliant and mind blowing.
How is this content free, this is an incredible conversation. Wow.
Every dollar is a Bill you own and not capital for its debt.
or each of us find an innovator that tailored a robot based on the skills that we want to program and buy it for X amount and then sent Robots to work on behalf of us.

@@vellam8766 - so true.
Mind blowing. 8k likes and not a single dislike. This is an incredible discourse.
Agree. Robert seemed almost catatonic in his responses...seemed hungover lol
Without a doubt one of the best videos I’ve ever watched.
thank you for saying "the game is what it is, deal with it"-- just awesome
One of the most valuable videos I have listened to. Thank you
The greatest (or the most important) content in years. What a shame it has only 38K views atm - and i bet only 10% watched the whole of it - while cute kitten videos have millions .
This is absolutely fascinating. So many notes taken and so much to chew on indeed!
Absolutely great video, thanks Rauol as always love to listen to your great insight!
Awesome meeting of the minds. What a great insight to the history of where we came from. Phenomenal way to tease out what has happened.
@@jordanhuscroft3057 I see your perspective now. Thanks for the insights!
Outstanding.. what an incredible time to be alive. Thank you for this invaluable information.
Everyone’s dystopia is nearly the same, everyone’s utopia is infinitely different. The future is going to be very interesting to see play out.
This is the most important interview I’ve listened to - more impactful and eye-opening than Zeitgeist Addendum!
That was mind blowing, and not to difficult to comprehend . Raoul is great to listen too 👍
Awesome interview. Long form discussion of these macro topics suits Raoul best. Rob asks some great questions.
I took a day to watch this slowly and digest what's being said.. blows my tiny brain
