@@maty865 I replayed it couple times because I thought I heard it being said that way too, but he was referring to last year.
He started coming on at the end of the season after McDaniels got canned. In the last couple of games, he showed some potential to be a future pro bowler. Especially with adding Christian Wilkins to that D-line was massive for Maxx, Wilson, and Koonce. He's gonna open up so much for those guys. O-lines won't be able to throw double teams so often like they have in the past
Mayer sounds like someone who could be a head coach some day.
Eerily similar to Greg Olson.

Yall realize we’ve had multiple players mention “they didn’t know what was going on” or “I was clueless” for the first 7 weeks. McDaniels offense complexion was hindering the development of these guys. They couldn’t play fast which is huge!!

I really hope Tyree Wilson becomes a beast and an elite defensive end or DT because he’s big enough to play the position. I’d like for him to play DT so that koonce can be on the field at all times as well.

I’m really excited about our offensive weapons. Mayer, Bowers, Meyers, Adams, & Tucker on the outside with Zeus in the backfield…and a newly built Offensive Line….thats just that side of the ball..that Defensive looks crazy.. ☠️
They cannot all be on the field at once, unless your plan is no QB or Mayer lines up as a ineligible lineman.

I like the way Tyree looks, I like what he has to say, and I think he"s going to blow up this season. I know he's putting in the work being mentored by Maxx. If Tyree puts it all together, he can be otherworldly. Put me down for 10+ sacks. Mayer...Love that dude. Saw him live at ND and now healthy and a new coaching staff....this guy is the next Jason Written.

I am excited for Michael. The biggest thing we noticed last year was his lack if speed. He appeared very slow. Apparently he's dropped some weight and become faster.....and having fun again! Plus, competition brings out the best!

Tom Telesco made the best pick in the draft. Hands down. He got a top yhree pick at thirteen(Brock). That's EXACTLY the draft strategy we should've had for years! You go for BPA and intelligence/character....or you end up with Ferrell, Leatherwood, Russell, Ruggs, Wilson........

No one could understand, and Tom Brady was willing to run it his own way which made McDaniels angry at him. But Brady was the reason McDaniels looked competent. Same with Belichick. Brady made those guys look better.

After hearing Mayer speak I think it was more then just a foot. Im not sure what went wrong with Mayer. He was awesome at Notre Dame. To hear him say there were days he didnt want to show up is upsetting. I csnt help but think of those last 3 games was he really that hurt or was it lack of commitment to excellence? Not sure he and Pierce saw eye to eye last season. Hmm will be interesting watch moving forward.
