Trump did this to Hillary for the dossier, that the GOP asked Christopher Steele to write. When trump secured the nomination, the GOP had known use for the not complete dossier, but Hillary sure could have used it, so a deal was made. Christopher Steele was dead not long after, leaving an uncompleted document. Trump's DOJ blacken out almost the entire dossier, then declared trump innocent of Russian Collusion. This was a cover up of great magnitude, by a con man. Within the first week in office trump had Russians in the Oval office. If you think that's ok. Well you ain't a PATRIOT!

Trump existence on the public stage is a failure of both state and federal law enforcement to do anything to curtail Trumps lawlessness going back to the late 80s. Great summary. There are too many russians in this story for it to be coincidental and inconsequential. Pity that not every (so-called) patriot can stomach hard facts.
jacques fois : You got it exactly right. There are too many Russian millionaires and billionaires involved here. But what I find more damning is the money involved, the "business" ties. This whole thing has been years in the making, like a "long term investment" that is now paying dividends. The Russians propped the Trump Org.ilk up when no other bank or investor would.
We, the people, will probably never learn the whole truth and full scope of it but we will certainly pay the price. It will be a very high price; you can count on it. Mueller is following the money, I am sure. It takes time because the Trumpian swamp is deep and wide. Did you ever read the FISA application for surveilling Carter Page?
- It mentions he had already been a person of interest for the FBI for some years.
-It mentions that Page had contacts with two people from Russian intelligence disguised as diplomats.
- And it only credits Steele as a source for the information that Page travelled to Russia in 2016 while calling himself an "advisor to the Kremlin", which actually happened.
- t also mentions Russians reaching out to Papadopoulos, a person Steele's had never mentioned nor heard of
- And it mentions loads of other stuff we know nothing about, because 80% is redacted.
The big scandal right media and a handful of Republican congressmen claimed to have uncovered in 2017 insisted that the dossier was the only source and could not be used because none of the four judges was ever told that it was oppo research. But on pages 15/16 of the application we can read that Steele's ("source#1") compiled reports were not done without political intent, because "The FBI speculates that the identified US person (Simpson?) was likely looking for INFORMATION THAT COULD BE USED TO DISCREDIT CANDIDATE #1'S CAMPAIGN".
By the time of the first renewal of the FISA warrant, candidate #1 had won the presidential election. 3 of those judges by then could also figure out who presidential candidate #2 was. You realize sth? It did not matter who paid for the dossier. And it should not. Every piece of evidence presented to any judge is by nature partisan. What matters is the source's credibility, i. e Christopher Steele's record with the FBI. Steele is a former MI6 intelligence officer, with Britain being our closest ally, he is a Russia expert and helped uncover the gigantic FIFA corruption scandal.
