@@nickzarkovic4139 yeah I code out ASD using Bimmercode, and got rid of burbles using BM3. I don't mind leaving some at above say 3000rpm and higher speed, with really high aggression and short duration, but havent had them enabled at all for a year or more.
does someone know how to correct the S55 sound ? I have seen that having a single pipe exhaust helps but the S55 here has AA midpipe which is a single pipe and it still farts.
Antonio Quiñones you can try using bootmod3 tune and reduce burbles. Basically the burbles/farts are due to the ecu ejecting extra gas into the exhaust
Not sure if you still care about changing the sound. But most people will immediately go for n55 sound, and rightfully so. But what they dont know, is that the s55 can sounds equally as good if not better than the n55. Simply replace the twin turbo setup with a single turbo setup, just like the n55. It's that easy. Dont believe me? Look up single turbo f8x m4 or M3 which has the same s55 engine as the m2 competition
So hard to really tell how good something does/doesn't sound with unloaded revs while sitting still. I mainly hear the artificial pops and cracks, which is a bummer
always curious how many people voting here actually have either of these / have even heard them in real life. Even the stock S55 sounds pretty good to me, more different than worse or better (but I'm probably biased since I have a comp hah, my friend has an LCI)
I don't think the S55 sounds that bad, but like you, i have a comp. I've learned to like it. But the first time I heard an F80/82/83 it did NOT sound good to me.
@@freedbeefpontoons totally fair, and I agree. First time I heard the N55 I really liked it. First time I heard the S55, it took some time to grow on me. Fan of it now!
Im a M2C guy myself (about 11,000 miles now) I literally had the AA Equal length mid and AA [valved] back box in the garage a month before my car was delivered. I am happy as a pig in poop with the sound. Deeper, louder, more aggresive, no rasp. I like the comment from FREDBIKER saying the M2C sounded like the E46 M3. I had one about 14 years ago and had a MagnaFlow cat-back installed on it immediately to lose the rasp. Just not a fan of that 4-cyl on steroids sound, I guess.
Had two N55 cars and they sound amazing in person. The s55 to me is ok, not horrible but not great. BMW did some changes in 2016 to enhance the “sound” so 2015’s unless you plan on Tuning skip them. Comp pack is probably a must.

I've done some digging and by far some of the best exhaust setups seems to come from the equal length headers. Specifically AA equal length midpipes and akropovic slip on exhaust. That combo sounds the least raspy, if any at all.
Glad i'm not the only person that noticed. The N54 sounds good but not as good as the n55 due to the twin turbos. I came to that conclusion from hearing how awful(in my opinion) the twin turbo Q50/Q60 VR engines sounds compared to the VQ. A single turbo S55 sounds fucking amazing tho, almost like a 2J/RB
@@z32mike I think you misunderstand. I'm not implying that it doesnt cost to upgrade a vehicle. Its a given. And who says that said person just bought the car? It's less common for someone to buy a vehicle and then put mods in straight away, instead after few months or years of saving and getting bored with stock they seek upgrades. And regardless, if they bought it new, it would be "that easy" if they had the cash to do so.
N55 Not just for the exhaust but you don’t need to shell out $3500 immediately to fix the crank hub design on the s55. It’s what we though. If you wanna be cool and go fast really fast I guess stick with the s55. You want pretty fast and great sound n55 and save 15k and have just as much fun.
N55 sound crazy bro
That N55 sound 😫😫
N55 hands down!
The n55 is a no brainer - fantastic sounding engine, but for God's sake ppl, tune out the fake burbles...
they kind of sound like the stock burble setup, just louder and more raw cause of the exhaust

@@jamesj590oh shit! U can tune out the stutter in the exhaust by deactivating ADS??
Everyone knows...
N55 the top !!!!!!
N55 best
N55 all day
N55 sounds best, but less burbles would sound better. Bimmercode can easily fix thst.

Big différence. The m2C sound like à E46, incredable.

Yes. An equal length exhaust will fix it.

N55 sounds great. S55 never sounds good in any car. The burbles are lame af on both
Nice but the Burbles are🤢
We all know guys 😉

S55 sounds just as shitty as N54
N54 sounds pretty good despite the presence of the twin turbos, way better than the S55 imo. N55 sounds better than both regardless.

It ruins drivability for f80s, you can just get an equal length exhaust and it’ll fix the rasp
“simply” “it’s that easy” yeah let’s throw 5k+ into a car we just bought for it to sound good 👍 you should go do it then
