Hey guys! My DIGITIZED UCAT NOTES are now for sale! 🥳You can get a copy over on my Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/uk/shop/KharmaMedic ! They’re a drastic improvement of my handwritten notes - I’ve added multiple NEW sections including DM notes, time saving tips & tricks, guides on how to prepare for the UCAT test, and how to know if your score is competitive and more! 😀 Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel ❤ Happy studying!
Ohene Frimpong yes, very similar. However, there were slight differences between the real thing and the mocks: For VR, the mocks are very similar to the real exam, but the paragraphs in the real thing were maybe slightly longer but there was not much of a difference. I found DM in the real exam much easier than the mocks, for example the probability questions were much simpler than on medify. QR was exactly the same as on the mocks, unlike what many people say. In fact in the mocks I was getting around 670 and I got the same in the exam. AR was slightly easier in the real exam, I found the patterns easier to spot. SJT was the same.
I said this in the AR video but I have to say it again... I.AM.SHOOK at how easy you make it look! All those tiny pointers really made a big change to my score in DM which was** my weakest topic in UCAT. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
The month has finally arrived for me to put all my efforts into revising for these admissions tests. Thank you for putting these videos out, they're extremely helpful :)
Been stressing, but worked really hard to concentrate and just before my exam it got cancelled due to technical issues. Now I have more time to prep but there is no guarantee that my nearest city will even hold the ucat. So now I am stressing more than ever.
Edit: added more info about resources You are very welcome Natalie! Apart form the official website you need to purchase them I believe from one of a number of prep courses or from books on amazon etc... The only ones I have used are Kaplan and Medify. Kaplan's online course is useless imo. Their past tests are okay but the problem is that they don't provide an in-depth breakdown of what sections you did better or worse in and how to improve. I've been using Medify recently and found it very useful because it gives you analytics of how you are performing so you can focus on your weaknesses. It also tracks performance and history so you can see how you are doing I just think it's a great studying tool! They have 4 mini-mocks per section and 7 full mock exams. In my opinion that is more than you'll ever need to get your timing down and practice your heart out. I hope that helps, good luck!
Great to hear it helped! In my time using them I've found it to be a great resource. There's hundreds of questions but better than that it can show you where you are performing weakest and you need more practice. Of course detailed answers to all questions doesn't hurt! In terms of difficulty I have found them quite similar as far as I can remember!
This video has been sooooooo helpful! Decision Making has been my weekest so far and this vid has made it so simple! 💗💗💗 One question- Would you highly recommend Medify, since I have currently been using the Ultimate UCAT collection guide book? Thank you once again for this! Been a life saver xxx
Hi Kharma, is having a whiteboard important for sections “decision making” and “quantitative reasoning”? I will be doing the ucat online this year and they only offer whiteboard on screen which might be time consuming to use if I have to rely on it heavily...so I was wondering if it is the case of buying a physical one...Or can I just stick with the on-screen one without big issues...?
How did you scale your scores for each section? On Medify my scaled scores are lower for the same mark compared to the table used by other students on Medic Mind? Which one would you go off of, as I don't want to give myself false confidence/ or stress myself out unnecessarily?
No worries yingzhou! As you see I double check my answers (I'm not the UKCAT God so I do get questions wrong haha!). I make sure to let you guys know with the X and then review it after.
I did some research about those kinds of questions and apparently they dont come up in the real UKCAT that often, infact for most of the candidates that type of question has never appeared
Hi, I’m a canadian pre Med student and have an idea about applying for a uk Med school.I would like to know your whole journey .Could you please help me.
9:56 I think you made a mistake here, it should be 0.6*0.6=36% chance for the magnetic drive and 0.6*0.3=18% chance for the SSD, thus the SSD is the better purchase.
I disagree, both the magnetic drive and the SSD have the same chance of being filled up (60%), so this becomes a non factor when deciding which to buy. This means the decision is solely based on whether the drive is damaged or not, which the SSD is less likely to be.
@@zaidislam1774not true, if you draw out the probability tree both events are independent so one occuring does not effect the other so probabilities should still be multiplied regardless. The only time adding probabilities is if youre discussing more than one event from a probability tree
If you're doing the standard UCAT exam then aim for 1 minute per question (there are 29 questions and you have 31 minutes to answer them). But you can save a nice chunk of time on questions like strongest argument, giving you more time for the god awful (in my opinion) logic puzzles.
I am absolutely loving these videos! I have a question. 16:50, the 2nd option says that "it would be better for children to spend their time on activities that develop extra-curricular instead" - isn't the second part of that statement an opinion? Why is option 3 incorrect?
At 18:55 how can you determine whether the other adults have children? I think you made the assumption that, because they're over 20, they may have children, but this may be wrong? All we know is that those who enjoy sci-fi don't have children.
Great vid bro. Btw have a placement at a GP soon however its only reception work and dealing with patients from the reception only due to confidentiality. How can i relate what i have learnt in my personal statement.
You are going to find out for yourself when you do the placement! You'll see how your role integrates into a patients life and experience in the GP. How your actions can affect them, and change their wellbeing, even in the smallest of ways :)
Hello everyone. In the actual exam, if you fail one of the yes/no questions, have you totally lost the marks for the question in total? Or would you get 4 marks out of 5? Thanks.
if you get one wrong, it's considered partially correct, but more than that and you lose the whole mark. However, how its unknown how many marks partially correct answers are worth :)
Kharma Medic do you still need that account. I'm panicking so badly on the whole UK cat. It's stressing me out. It'll be nice if you could let me use it for preparing I've already spent a lot on books

DM - 690
QR - 670

There were no tricky logic puzzles in the video. Please could you go over some really difficult logic puzzles. The Kaplan UCAT book has plenty

In DM yes/ no questions give around 4.8 points, normal questions give around 20 points (then just add your scores to 300)

Another banger! - One quick question,
for the second part of 18.47 , how can you come to the conclusion that comedy films are more popular?
Not by my computer right now but I'll check when I can!
I don't believe you can come to the conclusion that comedy is more popular than horror as you don't actually have statistics about how popular horror is.
(Explanation):
You know a >few< adults don't enjoy comedy, this means that most do enjoy comedy.
The conclusion that comedy is more popular can be concluded is if it said:
"A small fraction of adults enjoy horror" along with the previous statement.
This is because if there's a small amount that like horror and a large amount that enjoy comedy, then you can say comedy is more popular.
The reason its still a no is because you cant conclude from the text that horror is more popular.
