Meredith’s house has always been the calm in any storm for anyone who needed it. When I saw the moment from the beginning I was omg I know what’s doing on here and I am so up for it
Honestly the only real highlight for me was the display of character growth from Meredith. One of my least favourite moments on the show will always be ‘pick me, choose me, love me’, and watching her tell Nick she has self-respect and won’t put him above herself or her kids or wait around for a guy who doesn’t return her feelings was so empowering to me. She’s learned that you’ve got to say things while you can, and waiting does no one any good. This will be my last ep until the finale.
When starting your internship, especially after what these interns have been through, it is good to have a fresh start. I saw this scene as a renewal for the new Interns, (Lucas, Mika and Simone), The program at Gray Slone and the house (Casa Grey). The interns were given a fresh start with the house being empty, It will be what you make of it.
I love the intern house being recreated but IKYFL. That was Meredith’s last episode!? We waited three months for her farewell episode to revolve around Nick? No cameos? No flashbacks? No hug from Richard or Bailey. Like be for real. I feel cheated.
Technically, Mer will be back for at least one more ep before the end of the season. Ellen hadn't announced her permanent departure yet when this ep was written, so even though they marketed as her farewell, it wasn't technically written to be one.
