DLSS really seems to make all the difference as well as some productivity advantages over AMD. My only gripes with Nvidia is their ugly driver interface, power connector and of course price.
It totally will be though and demand will outstrip supply. There's no downward movement on the basic 4070 or ti prices as yet. Wouldn't be surprised to see the ti super nearer £900 than £800 especially as it's probably only going to be single digit % slower than 4080. Honestly, UK pricing mostly sucks for new.

Same thing in nz. About 200 to 300nzd more for the super card. Definitely not worth it. Brought a 4070 during boxing day sales . And two days later found out about the pending super versions. After finding the price difference I'm still very happy .
Thank you for this review, the 4070 super looks nice, and is nice that nvidia finally adjusted its price point...better late then never. Amd needs to lower the 7800xt to 450-maybe 475 or theres no point to buying it over this or even the 4070, if you are willing to buy used (at least here in america, not sure what prices are like over there) but the 3080ti is pretty attractive at 550ish if you can get it for that and a 3080 if you can find it at 450ish. But prices are jumping in the USA pretty fast thanks to a resurgence in crypto mining, I wouldn't panic or anything but I think this month is the month to buy a new or used card when the super series pushes down prices.
Will have to wait to see where it settles but at my go to supplier here in Australia, the 4070 S has released very close in price to the 4070 ti, actually making the 4070 ti more attractive. At this supplier a cheap 4070 is about 900 bucks. A cheap brand 4070 S is 1100, and a cheap 4070ti is 1150. So it hasnt priced well so far. Here lately the 4070 ti has come down in price and the 4070 hasnt moved at all. 900 Aussie bucks is 600 USD. Maybe they intend to phase out the 4070 ti?
I really like the undervolt that you did it Drops the Wattage by 56 Watts insane ! Do you have any plans to do a review on GPUs for video editing on Davinichi resolve ?
I heard they're lowering 4070 non supers to 550, def not worth saving 50 bucks over the super ... $450-500 would be a much better price. Right between the 4060ti and the 4070 super. I think that a 4070 non super for that price would be great for a +1 budget gamer. Especially coming from a high 10-20 series card or a low tier 30 series card. The RX 580 and Vega 64 play just about every game I typically play with no issues at all. I also went back to Windows 10.

Hey guys i had a question I have never bought an FE card before i always buy EVGA and Asus cards. For the first time am considering an FE card is there any performance differences between AIB and FE? I currently have two cards coming the asus strix white edition 4080 super and the FE card bought directly from nvidia. I am only keeping one I don’t care about looks i like both cards i care about performance is the strix worth the extra $300? Thanks
Have you tried undervolt targeting 900mV and lower the clocks until its stable? I ran my cards 10 series to 30 series at about 900mV (or under if stable) and 1000mV sounds a bit too high.
All PCI express versions are retro compatible, meaning the physical slots are the same. The only difference they have with each other is the bandwidth.
yeah where you are in the world matter for sure, In Canada cheapest 7800xt $670, 4070 $735 and 4070 super is $810 pre tax. Which means we get the US MSRP but $600 for the best 1440p card feels $100 to much. Probably if it was a 16gb card at $600 would be enough as it would give me confidence of it being a 3-5 year card instead of it being a 2. At least its a step in the right direction but I feel this refresh is only good because It will force the next gen down a bit. If AMD releases 4070 super performance for $450 and close to 7900XTX for $600 in the next 6-8 months then NVIDIA will have to release a 5070 for $650 that is close to the 4080.
4080 super blows the 7900 XTX out of the water all while being around the same price. No reason to go for amd's flagship anymore. I expect the super to be the new 7900 XTX if you can't afford a 4090, as the 4080 super will be the second best gpu you can buy.
It's 5% faster at raster, but massively faster at raytracing. Let's be real. All the new titles have RT now. Plus, it has significantly better VR and streaming performance.
Nvidia sells performance. AMD sells RAM Nvidia sells DLSS AMD sells RAM Nvidia sells ray tracing AMD sells RAM Must be a very good business to sell RAM, even though AMD is not a RAM manufacturer.
I am waiting on the 5000 series cards to see how much RT improves, but I expect to be waiting on those reviews until November at the earliest, or possibly May at the latest.
I passed a comment on a video a few weeks back that amd had to drop the 7800xt substantially.. some replied that i was wrong... Well, look now? If the 4070 super stays around 600 then the 7800(fake xt) needs to be 450, just like steve from HUB just said.. i defer to his greater knowledge.
3:30 GOTDAMN! Look at that power draw on the 7800XT. I cant believe AMD Fanboys complain about Power Draw when their GPU draws almost 100 more Watts for Similar Performance. The 14900k vs 7800X3D is not even that bad compared to this. LOL
I still say I would have preferred it to have continued with the same performance as the 4070 and increased from 12 to 16GB VRAM. I refuse to buy 700€ GPU with only 12GBVRAM
I'm a little mad, been looking at 4070 for AU$900 and 7800XT for AU$830 for months now, thought the supers might improve prices of the market a little but looks like it'll just slot above these cards instead edit: in Australia now that the product has dropped you can get a 4070 ti for the same price as a 4070 super and it's a better card
this aged like milk in the sun. These cards are not selling. They are dumping all their crap onto the market right now and even scalpers dont want this go round. The 4080 maybe
Let's face it, this is what the 4060 Ti should have been. This card is a shafting of the market. Only one worth buying in the new Super Duper offerings is the 4070 Ti Super. It's a dream come true for anyone wanting to replace that 1080 Ti for not much more than they paid for that, and probably the same longevity if the curve remains the same.

Its crazy how AMD is more power efficient with the CPU's but when it comes to GPU's they are off the mark. I'm wondering if they can get the MCM down for the GPU's if that will adjust the power efficiency.........
I imagine if comparing to used market prices 6900/6950xt is a great used market value still if you can get it for sub $600 usd still, i got my 6950 xt for $500 usd shipped and it pretty well matches or exceeds the 4070 supers performace in most games from the other reviews i looked at if you don't use raytracing. Would be nice to see a good head to head with some overclocking.

I don't even use ray tracing despite having an rtx card. and 7800xt is $100 cheaper than the non super rtx 4070 here in my country. and btw, rtx 4070 starts at $680 here.
I saw the prices of the 4070s/4070ti s and 4080s in my country, it's a joke tbh. 4080s is 1:1 with current 4080, 4070ti s is about 1000$ (100$ less than 4080 s) and 4070s costs 50$ than current 4070ti. Such a great deal, congratz nvidia.

i bought the 4070 in December and now i am regretting it. Now i need to overclock my 4070 to see how close i can get. I guess life is full of bad decisions.
I would not really put a full hearted attempt into overclocking the 4070 to the levels of a 4070ti Super. The die is actually 4080 silicon. It would probably become unstable, therefore making you feel even more remorse.
@@Willbme4EVAwhat are u talking about with the 4070S being 4080 silicon? It's ad104 that is actually cut down, unlike the 4070 ti. The 4070ti super is ad103 so technically "4080 silicon". The 4070S however isn't even as good as the 4070ti silicon wise.
Won't be possible to match the super but overclock it anyway, especially the memory. Everything from the 40 series that is the 4070ti or under needs a vram OC to mitigate inconsistent performance game to game due to the underspecced bandwidth on them stock.

Me too, around june last year everyone was saying there is no chance there will be any super cards. So I thought I might as well buy a 4070 we're probably not getting anything better when it comes to price to performance. People were even doubting AMD was gonna release any 7800XT. Then AMD released the 7800XT and it destroyed the 4070 in non ray traced games. And now the 4070 Super destroys both overall... for roughly the same money. There is never a good time to buy a GPU. Next fall nVidia might release the 5070 that might make the people that buy the 4070 super regret their purchase.
You also got another half year of use out of it. Nobody ever knows if a Super refresh will happen or not. So why wait? You lose out on more waiting than you do getting the best option at the time.

@@po1odo1o there is no movement on the 4070Ti because they have now removed it and the Ti Super has taken its place.
I know the 4070Ti Super is going to be horrendously priced…… it was just wishful thinking 🤣

Same thing in nz. About 200 to 300nzd more for the super card.
Definitely not worth it.
Brought a 4070 during boxing day sales . And two days later found out about the pending super versions. After finding the price difference I'm still very happy .

This is just SUPER 😅
I want to get this card. I ha d a Ryzen 5 processor should I get a 7? (New to PC built first one this fall)

15% performance increase, not enough to justify an upgrade I'd say.
I'd wait for the 5070 which should be 1 year away. That'll be a significant upgrade for the 3080 FE.
At least it should be the 4070Ti Super to see an actual difference imo.
4070TI Super, 4080 Super or 5000 series for you
I’m waiting on the 5000 series to upgrade from my 10GB 3080 FTW ULTRA.
I might even keep it and put it in a case as a showpiece
Got a 4070 for $650 CAD used 4 months old. The 4070 Super cost $819 CAD plus 12% tax = $920 CAD. $270 CAD difference there.
Considering the fact that the 4070ti is still a $1200 card where I live? These may as well be made of un-obtainium.
This is nvidia were talking about though ....

I quit trying to stay up with these new graphics cards, I just sold my RTX 4070 ti and my RX 7900 XTX and downgraded to a 50 dollars RX 580 and a 90 dollar Vega 64 and went back to 1080p Gaming and perfectly happy with the performance. The RX 580 and Vega 64 play just about every game I typically play with no issues at all. I also went back to Windows 10.

Have you tried undervolt targeting 900mV and lower the clocks until its stable?
I ran my cards 10 series to 30 series at about 900mV (or under if stable) and 1000mV sounds a bit too high.
The 4070 super existing will be really good for the GPU market
does this fit in a pcie4? or just with pcie5? I know the bandwidth is not limited for pcie4 but I mean does if physically fit?
Yes, standardized slot.
All PCI express versions are retro compatible, meaning the physical slots are the same. The only difference they have with each other is the bandwidth.
@@pizzadude007 Great! cheers
what do you think about 7900GRE at 635usd ?
is this like total power draw or gpu draw only ?
total system power draw for the power numbers.
yeah where you are in the world matter for sure, In Canada cheapest 7800xt $670, 4070 $735 and 4070 super is $810 pre tax.
8:10 - is this a production problem or AMD card recording is really so ugly when compared to Nvidia?
Just make 7800xt officially sell for $479 then it will be ez purchase
4080 super blows the 7900 XTX out of the water all while being around the same price. No reason to go for amd's flagship anymore. I expect the super to be the new 7900 XTX if you can't afford a 4090, as the 4080 super will be the second best gpu you can buy.
Facts AMD’s only advantage is more vram and 24gbs is overkill for gaming.
If by blows out of the water you mean ~5% faster at $100 more than ya, I guess. TBH this entire generation from both companies is mediocre at best.
It's 5% faster at raster, but massively faster at raytracing.
Let's be real. All the new titles have RT now.
Plus, it has significantly better VR and streaming performance.
Tech city’s 1% lows testing seem more thorough - if i’m looking for the smoothest frame times I believe the 4070 super beats the 7800 xt ?
Still 12GB, still 192-bit.
Pass.
Nvidia sells performance.
AMD sells RAM
Nvidia sells DLSS
AMD sells RAM
Nvidia sells ray tracing
AMD sells RAM
Must be a very good business to sell RAM, even though AMD is not a RAM manufacturer.
I've seen some improvement from RT tech. But, not enough to be wowed into buying cards that do it well. It's still too much of a performance hit.
I wont be able to afford these cards for quite some time, so, i'll be buying my personal fav K.O., the RX 6750 xt...thoughts?
3:30 GOTDAMN! Look at that power draw on the 7800XT. I cant believe AMD Fanboys complain about Power Draw when their GPU draws almost 100 more Watts for Similar Performance. The 14900k vs 7800X3D is not even that bad compared to this. LOL
I still say I would have preferred it to have continued with the same performance as the 4070 and increased from 12 to 16GB VRAM. I refuse to buy 700€ GPU with only 12GBVRAM
I have 2080 now is 4070 super ok to upgrade? 1440p
No the 4070 Super is equivalent to a 3080ti in non memory bandwidth situations. Not a big enough leap.

this aged like milk in the sun.

Why can’t you return the 4070?

Dang I didn't expect this generation to have a super series now I'm stuck with a 4070 non super T.T
The more you buy the more you FOMO
