Hikaru when he's down a queen but his opponent blunders a pawn:
"Now I'm gonna win"
LMAO
*”now i’m gonna win the geem”
there are more things that decide the winner other than just point advantage
do not r/whoosh me, I get the joke.
✨Confidence✨
When you start hanging your pieces while up such a huge amount, then that often means you're crumbling psychologically. When you're up a queen your pieces should overwhelm the opponent's and your material advantage should eventually get even bigger
At this point stockfish will just mark the queen takes bishop as a great move
You mean brilliant?
Ahahahaahahahhaahahhajahajajaja
Queenless Hikaru: This looks bad
Opponent: moves anything
Queenless Hikaru: Ok, now I´m winning this
I never would have guessed he'd be shredding 2200 players like this. I mean, he lost a couple in the lower rating range, but he just mastered the queen sac at this point.
2200 rating is indeed a nice rating but still a noob compared to hikaru, i didnt watch this botez gambit when it was live but i think the first chess players that will somehow manage to make hikaru sweats a little bit are from 2500+
@@MiSTeRJoKe96 nah you underestimate 2300s and 2400s
@@justalazyguy.0_0 no i don't, im not saying they are bad because they clearly aren't but i would always bet hikaru has the advantage against any 2300/2400s queenless just because of his skills, he can see so far ahead of any of them and also his speed is impressive, all of that is worth more than a queen of any 2300/2400s, that's my opinion, tell me yours
@@justalazyguy.0_0 no, you underestimate Hikaru. Hikaru can beat these guys 100-0, if he wanted to
@@MiSTeRJoKe96 he doesn’t get that Hikaru has adopted Firo and even Danya, shich are #2 and #3 in Bullet. Hikaru is #1 in the World and is considered a SuperGM
The most impressive thing to me is that he does this while talking and paying attention to chat. Always wild to me.
When you know the patterns you recognize them instantly
He won the whole 2-0 tournament while talking to chat 😅
All about pattern recognition. He can just play moves that "feel" right and they will be strong moves most of the time. But yeah, very impressive
i suspect he has a mild form of asperger's. Ivanchuk as well.
normal gm: this is tricky, how do i win this position
hikaru: this is tricky, how do i sac my queen
This has to be the best series on all of RUclips.
Someone doesn’t watch Guess the Elo
Lemme introduce you to minecraft pixelmon island🥱
@@Robinson508 Pixelmon is almost a decade old
@@EnigmaChess it shall live on forever LMAO
(I’m joking ofc pixelmon was just a great series)😂
@@j.d.kurtzman7333 guess the elo in my opinion sucks
Am i the only one who is feeling this is the best chess series on youtube?
In my opinion the second best after guess the elo
"OUTPOSTS IMPORTANT THAN THE QUEEN" hikaru nakamura 2022
I showed this series to my friends at the library and they were all impressed.
Got the agad reference
Not at the bar?
You should have shown it at the bar. Library doesn't count.
I love this series. Didn't miss a single vid
that genuine smile after xqc said hikaru was the best chest streamer
edit: misspell lol
He was really happy. I think he really cares for xqc.
@@rickonstark5452 indeed he came a long way
Chest lol
I'm also impressed with Hikaru's chest skills
@@flippert0 I know, his chest is wild.
18:44 When you play the Botez Gambit, but your opponent gives you the ultimate plot twist by playing an EVEN BETTER Botez Gambit...
The chess Hikaru plays is jus beautiful.
t
Tttttttttttttttttttttttttt
Literally won a rapid game yesterday purely because of this series. I usually resign after hanging my queen or getting her trapped (because starting a new game is just faster anyway) but I’ve started playing them out and won a couple blitz and a rapid game yesterday
Whenever I get a losing position I always say to myself, If Hikaru can beat 2100s without a queen then I can beat my 1700-1800 opponents with a losing position. THANK YOU FOR BEING A SOURCE OF MOTIVATION.
Actually i think the same now. Im 2350 and i resigned many times in the past, but not anymore.
@@marcelmattern7722 I don't understand why you would resign as a 2300s player. We are unbelievably trash. I've had numerous opponents straight-up hang their queens in one move. And I regularly encounter somebody who hangs multiple pieces in a game. In fact, I recall a number of situations where I was dead-lost on position (i.e. down like 2 pieces) and equal on time, and yet ended up WINNING either due to my opponent blundering a queen or checkmate or due to flagging. I know the type to resign early, and whenever I cross paths with someone like that, I always think to myself "poor guy, he doesn't even know what he's missing out on".
This is the serie that I would watch every day. Pretty good during eating lunch.
yess
Now this reminds me of a funny old story about Alekhine. He played a game in public with a stranger who had no idea whom he was facing. Alekhine automatically offered a rook odds. The stranger was upset and said: "Dear sir, how can you offer me odds like that, you don't know me!" Alekhine replied: "With all due respect, if I couldn't give you the odds, I would have to know you."
What Hikaru does here really scares me. Giving the queen away and butchering 2200's like sleeping cattle, that's just amazing. Unbelievable!
Thank you for your work Hikaru and crew it has been of assistance during tough times.
I watch these videos for the amazing content but also to learn the pawn structures and how to consolidate after a “blunder”
I just don't get how this man can win these games in this speedrun but I freaking love it. I've been watching Hikaru for about two and a half years now and this has to be the most impressive thing I've seen on the channel. Just incredible.
I hit 1700 today I was really happy until I realised a queenless hikaru blindfolded with time odds would absolutely destroy me.
the sad thing is... he actually would (coming from another not amazing chess player)
im 2350 and feeling like a noob now. But i think 9 of 10 times i would beat him with +6 points.
@@marcelmattern7722 I bet ur hoping he doesnt start smacking 2300s in this speedrun huh
@@haythamzazai8146 Well his rating is 2406 and i think he could be 2500 if he want. Its insane. But i allways play freestyle i think i have a better chance to win this as a normal 2350.
I mean hes a super gm, ofc ure not gonna be better than him lol
lol, watching hikaru explain the ideas behind his moves actually gets me in form faster than anything else I am aware of rn...
He used the double wooden shield like 3 or 4 times against 2100s with queens and anhiallated them. Double wooden shield/Outpost > Queen
I'm learning a lot too because I realised people become so committed to keeping their queens once Hikaru gives up his queen when in certain lines saccing the queen wins more material in the continuation
*Hikaru down a queen for a bishop*
There's a weak spot on d4, so I should win
Not gonna lie, I've been waiting for this lol. Thank you for the content Hikaru.
04:22 I might not have a queen but I got anastasia
Cool video!
Love the Tuxedo thumbnail had me laughing
I think people forget he is a 3000 on bullet. so yes he is sacrificing his queen. but he is still levels better then these players! I think he will get to 2400 tbh!
He got to 2400
He got to 2400
You are under rating him in bullet. His peak is 3500+ and he currently sits around 3300 I believe
3000 is actually way underselling him still. His bullet peak is *3570.* Yes, you read that right
We all have reflexes that make us withdraw our hand from a hot surface before the hot sensation has made it to our brain. Hikaru has a chess reflex that allows him to grab a hung piece so fast that you hardly have time to see the move.
amazing to watch
6:30 when he mentioned the OGs and I got defensive remembering the days before the queens gambit. I will say the fact I been playing chess for 20 years is now cool instead of a strange activity amongst friends and has become a bit of a party trick
19:27 Like it how white use heart emoji and be like “Thank you for the queen!” and then just lose up a queen. Probably not gonna be happy.
I just CACKLED at the intro 😂😂 lmaooo
Damn still going strong!
This is the training arc he needs to win the Candidates!
people are gonna be confused when they play hikarubot and he sacs his queen every game
Ive been watching since episode 1 but i am still Amazed that such powerful person exist
I love his intro and outro music
The XqC and Hikaroo love is strong
so watching hikaru steamroll thru 2000/2100's without a queen has got to be one of the most impressive things i've ever seen... no CAP
Jedi mind tricks are really allowed in online chess?!? Beautiful games!
10:01 hikaru: i think he knows what im doing
his username:
0:47 this dude premoved to capture the queen knowing hikaru will sac it
Best speedrun ever
thank you editor for putting the xqc clip in here :)
This is the most impressive thing I have ever seen done in chess.
Big rip to all the juicers
This is an art
21:20 "I NEED to really put pressure on his clock" Hikaru
Very dubious comment
i don't get how he sacs a queen and 10 moves later he's just suddenly up material this is crazy
Hikaru is gonna become so good at the botez gambit, he should try it in the candidates. They would never be prepared for it.
LOL they would just trade down and beat him
The way to win against the queen sac is either to open diags and lines against Hikaru's king at all costs and mate him or trading down (even saccing back the queen) to a won endgame. Hikaru's opponents lack both the skill and the speed to do that. Higher rated players don't. It's possible that Hikaru wins with a Botez gambit even against higher rated players, but not with queen against one minor piece.
@@rgue5509 are you really replying seriously 💀 this is what people think all chess players are like
@@flippert0 💀 it's a joke
@@JimmyBoosterCrate It's fun to hypothesize chill out
Huge Clock advantage 🙂
Hikaru drinks smart water??? No wonder his chess is so great.
next series : Bong Cloud Botez Gambit
Hikaru is a boss!!
I only play on lichess without an account so i never really know what im up against but its fucking amazing watching him play like this with a queensack… Its like watching J.O waldner playing an exhibition match or the stig shredding in a ford fiesta
The fact you used the cover art for “The Tuxedo” and no one noticed bothers me.
To Hikaru we are all but mere cows 🐮.
"oops, i hung my queen"
"it's a bad position for black"
lol
for me personally, i used to play chess a bit competitively. but i stopped doing that because i stopped caring (pun intended) about the game. i came back because it was one of the choices for PE. then i got a recommended video about chess. first it was agadmator, then levi, then i soon found out that hikaru was now streaming. luckily enough, i did study study some of his openings.
and now here i am xD
i’m fucking crying at the intro
8:08 missed bishop fork!
Call Me Kevin and Anna got me watching chess.
in the part around 14:20 I get such a deja vu feeling but have no idea why
damn i really had an autistic burst of laughter of that clock sentence he made 😂
“Ikaru for sure.”
ah yes, pressure on the clock
Make sure to keep putting pressure on his clock...
real maidenless behaviour
I'm 👏 amazed 👏
pressure on his what🤨
Ah, yes, the thumbnail is from Tuxedo, the most infamous of Jackie Chan films
Damn you hikaru youre too good
the intro gives me disney channel vibes
At 17:10 can’t black just take on h4 since you open up the battery on the F file? If white takes then just take F3 to fork the bishop
that loses material though...?
@@lokitac4748 how so? If black takes then Qf3+ and just take the bishop. You got a Bishop and pawn and they got a Bishop
Hikaru can play queenless- but can he play…. BONELESS?
"Theres an outpost so i win"
I tried it on 400's.. works great so far.. most of the time..I had to flagged them tho...
Guy thinking oh i made a great move that's why he is thinking.
Hikaru: Chat, how do I sac my queen chat, yeah chat how do I sac my queen , it's very tricky chat, chat how do I sac my queen.
Is nobody finna talk about the fact that hikaru literally had been playing chess 14h straight??
He pauses the timer between streams. He's made 6 pauses or so for this series
We have to be close to the end right he said he made it to around 2400 in another vid. (I don't use twitch)
botez is chess streamer of the year lmao spent the whole life playing chess and shes 2100 meanwhile this streamer gets regularly 2x views and would beat her with half of his pieces
The account is named OhNo_MyBotezGambit, they don't have to snipe to know you're sac'ing the queen
You know, people who don't know GM Hikaru is playing the moves, will feel double sad after losing the game. They assume a girl has beaten them queenlessly
And then there is that rozman guy 🌚
he has already 2406 Points and im 2350. I never thought its this much more skill to a very good player. i should quite chess.
"The center is open so I win"
I think hikaru underestimates the time factor in rating. It doesn't matter if I win every position if I lose every time on the clock. The trick to playing bad moves is playing quickly. Rapid is kinda boring to watch, but most people can't make good moves in 3 minutes for a whole game. I end up winning even when i play bad when i just play in hikaru's rhythm, just because people think that I know more than them because i seem more confident. Also it becomes a different game. At my level its less trying to win and more trying not to lose immediately. maybe not the best way to play but its fun and i learn.
Ok this started to give me anxiety at this level where does it end?
At 2400
WHEN YOU ALMOST BEAT GMHIKARU THEN THIS HAPPENS 18:42
Thumbnail dudes, I require a “no maidens” thumbnail but instead “no queens” for the next episode!
Is that a amiron wireless?
bruh the intro ahqhqhqh
In Quebec, we don't speak "proper french" for the most part. We have our own popular non-standard version which is called "joual".
1:49
bad for black... with extra queen? Ok
botez gambit vs gotham match.
At what point will he began to loose games on an constant note, Is it 2300 or 2400?
