Crown zenith is the prime example of what this hobby should be, a memorable set with amazing artwork, affordable prices, ton of product and a the best set to open up in so many years.
This. ❤
Agreed!
Title should be investors not collectors
A lot of collectors care about the value of their collections
@@NateSchneider7exactly. And there's NOTHING wrong with that. It's literally the whole point of collecting. Why would anyone want their collectables to lose value? Unless you are rich and don't care about money. But sorry, I'd like my collectables to appreciate in value. Can't stand this weird stigma against collectors who care about value in Pokemon.
It's ridiculous.
i agree with you guys but at the same time, at least in my opinion, a reprint of a product (especially if its a hype set) just gives more people the opportunity to get products. if anything, the appreciation of that set would be delayed rather than permanently affected.
The Investor bros are sad in Japan 😂😂😂😂😂.
It’s an incredible time for everyone in the hobby except people who scalp, I am a collector and I invest. In my opinion you are not investing in that instance if you are selling any product later than Sun and Moon. The point is to provide a service by holding something over a long period of time to either let someone open something older or display something they enjoyed before. Personally I don’t sell anything that’s not at least 5 years out of print (give or take 7 years post release.)
It’s not collectors. It’s the annoying scalpers that are whining about it. As a collector I love reprints because I get another shot at grabbing a card or set I missed.
Exactly!!!
Collectors don't care about reprints, it's the investors and resellers that worry. So I really don't care what they think, I'll be glad to pick up more supply for my collection I can open at a later date.
I'm not sure investors really always worry about them. I invest, and I see this as a chance to get more of stuff like 151 that shot up in value too fast. The faster and further we get from MSRP, the less attractive a set becomes. A reprint like this kind of just creates opportunity IMO. But, not everyone sees it that way, and frankly I think they're wrong about that.
Reprints hurt scalpers that only look to hold on to items short term and I'm all for that
As a master set collector, I love reprints. I'm collecting to collect, not flipping for the money. Reprints means I can afford more cards for my collection. Sucker punch to investors and resellers
I'd much rather have an over supply, opposed to not enough. I actually like pokemon cards
People always say this, but then when their collections don't go up in price then people feel the cards have no actual value because they are not rare. We have witnessed this in many card games and oversupply is a great way to kill a hobby. I'd say as long as 80 to 90% of the people who collect can get their hands on the product for at or under MSRP then the print run is where it should be. I appreciate your sentiment, so please don't take this as an attack. It's just a different perspective.
And I like my collection to keep it's value, thanks 👍
@@JohnnyCrambo So you don't value your collection other than the money it's worth. Got it, thanks
@@purpleraikou why is it impossible for you to believe somebody can love something and want it to retain its value at the same time? Are we only able to feel one way or something?
@@JohnnyCrambo no I'm not saying it's impossible, of course I want my collection to retain it's value too. But I'm not prioritizing the "investment" I put into my collection, over the long term health of the hobby. The initial point I was trying to make with my original comment, is that I want the sets & cards that are in demand, to be readily available at fair prices - especially for the kids, because we depend on their interest to keep the hobby alive for another generation. Your first comment makes it sound like you'd prioritize the opposite, for the sake of your investment. I hope both of our collections retain, and even gain value overtime, because that means the hobby is alive and well - but that's over the long term. I think while sets are still new and in high demand, they should be printed to demand.
You should rename the video to "scalpers" compared collectors
Absolutely agree
You haven't been able to scalp since covid because they printed everything to the ground
Print print print
Collectors don't care.
Investors do. I hope they keep printing
They are scared its going to devalue the value of cards, which is exactly what I want
Game pieces!
As a collector, I LOVE reprints. Doesn't matter if the cards in it are expensive or not; I'm in it for the collecting. Thanks to these huge reprints of CZ, I can still get these packs relatively cheap, years after its release. Same goes for LO, AR, etc. I don't buy to sell in 10 years, I enjoy my cards, the card opening, and the collecting NOW.
I also love having reprints so that we can have some more fun opening those sets before they are out of stock
Investors are afraid of reprints, not collectors
me holding bags of evolving skies: "They better not reprint this set, it's such a great set why would they do such a thing, I mean come on"
me missing out on 151: "Turn those freaking printer jets on and get those sheets fired up and ready roll, do not hesitate to cut down every tree south of the border you lazy sons of b..." 😅
A couple month ago you was calling, there is no more reprint of 151 japanese
I dont think any collector is afraid of reprints
I don't collect as much as I used to. (Besides 151 and Crown Zenith), but your videos are so chill and relaxing. So I still watch.
I would love all sets to be like Crown Zenith. Awesome artworks to collect, great prices
I really enjoy the vibes! Great content
Reprints make cards cheaper‼️😅 More supply, less demand.
I collect and invest both. In either case, I'm not immediately concerned about reprints. Typically the worst case scenario is that the reprints may make my investments take a bit longer to ramp up. But, patience is also a big part of the game and if you get freaked out because of a reprint, you probably don't have the patience to win in TCG investing. And, you know Pokemon is going to reprint. They'd be a failed business if they didn't. So, protect your investments by buying as close to MSRP as possible. If something has shot up in a short amount of time like 151 did, you may be better off looking for another release to invest in.
If Pokemon can avoid overprinting, everyone can win in the end. If they overprint however, that hurts collectors and investors. Scalpers aren't in the market long enough to matter much past the first 6 months to a year if the set is really popular.
I have 1 sealed box of 151 but would love to grab another box or 2.
How much did it cost?
@peetvader478 that box cost me about 150. Now with the reprints I got 2 boxes for that price.
@@Ajones-iy8cp same, im only buying at max 70 to get my average down
@peetvader478 I feel you. Just be careful I almost bought a box for 57. Realized it was unopened but the shrink wrap was removed.
All about time and place for me. For a set like 151 I personally cant fathom how anybody trying to flip them would think they wouldn't be reprinted any time soon. As for older sets outside of Scarlet and Violet I would be lying if I said I didn't feel a little phased by a sought after set getting new stock, but this is a company trying to make money after all. Gotta keep that in mind and understand that risk if you plan on trying to make some money long term.
They should make pokemon cards edible in case of an apocalyptic scenario and I forgot to stock on food.
Everything is edible at least once a
Japanese 151 actually becoming affordable again?! Well then, guess I can finally pick myself up a box.
Nah, it's the scalpers who hate reprints. As a collector I love restocks and reprints. It means I get to collect more and open more packs of sets that I enjoy.
More like investors. Collecters want stuff as cheap as possible to be able to afford stuff....
Once a set is out of rotation (3 years), the chance of a reprint is incredibly low.
One thing true investors know; if you believe in the product, you BUY the dip, not sell. The only people who should be MAD about this are scalpers.
This is a good product for the future to hold, investors and collectors should be happy about reprints. People looking to flip it, should not be happy.
The best thing about reprints is you're one step closer to being done with reprints. It's like "ripping off a bandaid".
Jake, God bless you bro. Praying God's best over you and your life this next year. Thanks for the fun content!
If you didn't know there was going to be a massive reprint of 151 you haven't been paying attention. English 151 will be next.
Love your vids! If a collector wants graded reprints, probably best to get only get 10s at lowest cost possible.
I dont mind reprints as long as the set is still in standard and has playable cards needed for decks. What they did with Hidden Fates during Covid where they reprinted it 2 years later when it was already out of standard gameplay is what i am vehemently against. It felt like they wanted to cash in on the new hype at the time by rereleasing a popular set from years prior which I thought was unfair to those that were supporting pokemon tcg when it was not doing as well.
If you plan to hold your product sealed for at least 5 years, even collectors shouldn’t be upset. If you are looking for a one year flip, then yes it’s upsetting. I’m excited for this restock.
YEAH CHANGE THE TITLE TO SCALPERS!… chill people lol. Great vid
Every other TCG has cards high up in value because of no reprints.

-TwiceBakedJake
Yeah sure, whatnot guy
I love reprints when I don’t have something, I hate them when I have what I want. Sorry I know it’s selfish, I like my collections to be valuable even if I have no plans to sell ever. Just like to flex
Nobody wants their collection to be worthless
There doesn’t need reprints of majority of products. The print them into the ground, charge the most money in regard to TCGs and have the worst quality control. TPC, Nintendo and GameFreak have become increasingly lackluster and “lazy” imo.
I stopped collecting Pokémon cards because of reprints. I love Pokémon and Pokémon cards but it’s just not worth spending money on them when the cards aren’t worth a thing.
People who collect for value of cards have no care or appreciation for Pokemon.
When money drives an action over a love its just sad.
So I don't think collectors afraid reprints, me personally I found an opportunity to buy more from what I like, long term will be an investment.
Flippers on the other hand always afraid the reprints. My opinion :)
And I wrote it before I saw the video 😅
It’s never bad with reprints…. More cards for me to collect instead of paying 60$ for a single decent card lol
im just getting back into the game because of the new 151 set - would it be a good idea to go for 1 UPC and 1 ETB?
Love reprints keep em coming.
Majority of scalpers paid $50 a box so no one lost anything….
What about the English version of 151?
I would be interested to see how this affects English 151 demand.
Collectors don’t care about reprints. Scalpers and “investors” are the only suckers crying about it.
Excited for the restock
If you use pokemon as an investment, think of it like stocks. Your investment will go up and down. Then tank then boom.
I like reprints because it gives me another opportunity to invest into a really expensive set that I know people like. I just hate when they overprint. There is a fine line between what they did with the charizard upc's and shining fates and reprints. I'd say if about 10 to 20% of the card lovers are complaining about not enough cards then they probably printed in the goldilocks zone. If more or less are complaining then they over or undershot. 10-20% is a healthy medium imo.
When in doubt, zoom out 😎
Now is the time to pick up a couple bbs
In other words, "collectors" aka investment bros shouldn't worry. They can just buy up all the reprints and hold on to it to create artificial scarcity to sell for the same prices as now or higher for the future.
I don't see any for $135 on Ebay anymore. The lowest I see is $145.
Is American 151 going to have a reprint 🤞🏻
I’m all for reprints if it’s the good stuff!
How’s evolving skies fun? It’s got abysmal pull rates
30$ a box 😮 , where what planet?
Can a collector and investor exist in one body?
Pokémon Go needs a reprint 🤣
Change your title to INVESTORS are afraid of reprints
Real fans of a set love them because they can buy more for retail.
You told people before the reprint was announced to pick up 151 product. At a price point of over $200 usd. You have since deleted that video, as you were telling people it was there last chance to pick up 151. Prices have fallen by over 70% since your video?
Gotta love a reprint 💪🏼😎👊🏼
120 dollar is still x3 msrp 😂
not buying it
I just dropped a meqn shat bro 😅
Tired of people only caring about prices of cards. Is this guy straight?
Hold it sealed for years and stop crying
Uh huh, and you say this with a shelf full of the most expensive pokemon products right behind you. Would you be happy if they reprinted those pikachu mario cards you paid a fortune for? Or that latias & latios full art? I mean more to go around right? Let's all just enjoy the cards, who cares if you paid $500 for that card and now it's worth $5 right? You do be lying Jake, you do be lying.
Because it destroys value. If you were smart enough to load up on a great set only to have Pokémon destroy value like hidden fates, it absolutely sucks! Collecting isn’t a socialist hobby. If everyone is able to get any card they want cheap, then the collectors market will collapse. Pokémon picks winners like CE and ES and destroy sets like SF. They tried to destroy HF but it is way too awesome.
I see the reprint as a good opportunity to finally buy boxes for a decent price. Cause I did not buy any yet for 180-200 a piece. Therefore I am happy even though I bought mostly singles and I only miss the top 25 expensive ones of this set.
5:20 Do it.
Eh its good as a collector to get more cards, but it kills the value of the cards. I had a bunch of CZ stuff and it killed the value of all my cards, as a collector that's not cool. Giratina was 180 at one point and now you can get it for 80 bucks. So all the money I spent opening, while fun, doesnt hold much value when it comes to trading or anything else.
I don't have my 151 Japanese master set. I love that this will make that goal more affordable
Are you collecting the masterball reverses as well?
@@dlenger1655 haha I don’t make that much money
Awesome video! Enjoyed the content! Thank you for sharing the love of collecting! Love to get some cards for my son age 12!
Honestly a reprint wont really hurt longrun. Give it about 5 years. People will forget it ever happened and stock will be super low again.
Yep. It's just a waiting game.
NO absolutely not Collectors are NOT afraid of reprints on the contrary they welcome them. How do I know this? I am one and my friends are too. We collect we don t invest. Reprints means cheaper prices. InvestmentBros are the ones afraid of reprints. How can you be so wrong on this ?
My God collectors don t worry about the value of their collection, only investmentbros and hoarders do. For collectors it is the thrill of the hunt and the feeling of completion NOT the value in itself. My God how wrong can you be?
@Le_med You clearly didn’t watch the video 🤡
