I actually did a college project for this song a few years back. We were supposed to listen to a piece of music and make a collage for the emotions it evoked. When my professor asked what they were singing about, I simply replied "Giant robots battling in space for all of time." Got an A on that if I recall.
@@DehnusNorder And (if this was used as a Gurren Lagann tribute) he would have been nearly 100% honest (they don't have roses for penises and at least 2 women were part of the finisher). Heck, the screwing part would have been literal!.
It delivers just the message you'd expect from this music...when you're cornered against impossible odds, and it seems as if the battle is lost before you start, what do you do? Despair? Surrender? HELL no, you glance aside, look at your friends, and charge into the fray ready to give it everything you've got, knowing that as long as all of you are still standing the hope never dies.
This song's a double-edged sword. If it became some anthem, it would be the coolest sounding one ever, but at the same time, everyone would associate it with roses on someone's loins...
And that's why I always love the SRW series. It teaches us the most important lesson that, as human beings, to live with our brave soul, to love our precious Earth by all means, and to believe in our future, always. We all are the fated warriors who can give hope to our world. The marvellous tale of super robots will live along with our courage forever.
all these comments about that one PV get pretty funny when you consider the fact that one of the more prolific memes among SRW fans is "Real men ride each other"
The intro is necessary since sudden exposure to such concentrated hot-blooded awesomeness can cause the faces of mere mortals to melt Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost ark style.
well... with Eva, Rahxephon, Zeorymer, and Ideon... the chance of apocalypse occuring is much higher than them losing against all those space monsters.
You can bet on it. GONG will apear in the same OG as Kaiser Ephes, that much is certain. Though it will appear alongside a new song. Skill and Gong are populair and iconic songs, I'm pretty sure Skill will appear too.
I remember there being a really great MAD for this song based on the SRW A3 opening, but it appears to have disappeared off the face of the internet. This is a shame, because it is almost perfectly synced to the music.
@@AdamTheHedgehog I tried all the different combinations to search on Google, including the Japanese characters for Super Robot Wars. I think I remember the title including the word MAD in it, but I haven't had any luck. It's the version where the climax is them flying up towards the alien horde, right? In this version we're watching, they show that scene early on.
I want to make a couple corrections to the romanization, as I believe several parts are incorrect. First: In the second line, I believe "Atsuku kageshi kono omoi" is supposed to be "atsuku hageshiki kono omoi". The voice at least is clearly saying "hageshiki", if nothing else, and it makes sense since it means intense (almost to a violent level). No idea what kageshi is supposed to mean. Second: At about 3:45, I am very confident "Hokoru o seteruna" us supposed to be "Hokori o suteruna". I don't think seteru even means anything, but "Suteru" means "to remove, to throw away, to get rid of, to abandon" which goes along with the translation. Also note "Hokoru" became "Hokori". If there's one thing I'm confident in when it comes to japanese, it's recognizing words by sound alone. As for the translation itself, there are a few lines I would personally reword, but that's more a matter of preference than correction. Yes,I know you weren't the one who made the TL/romanization, I'd just like if you could somehow make annotations to fix this or something.
Still BLOWS my mind that we will never see this roster this fucking golden in the entire SRW Franchise. Alpha 3 was truly the peak of the series, it had the best roster and the largest one, I believe. All it needed was TTGL and Mazinger ZERO.
@@uzumazin5099 I know. But Alpha had Sanger, Ratsel, SRX team, the ATX, DaiRaiOh (Almost majority of the Original Generations). Pair that to the original Dynamic Trio, (Getter, Grendizer, Mazinger) And much more. It's also where GaoGaiGar made its debut and Macross.
I kinda imagine this song being sung by five retired super robot pilots (3 men, 2 women, forming a 5 Man Band) who a forced to go into battle once more, leaving behind their families, because the world needs them again. At around 3:44, the Chick and the Big Guy get killed in battle and for the rest of the song their encouraging their friends who are left, who, after having heroic BSODs due to their friends' deaths find the resolve to continue fighting and proceed to kick ass until all their enemies are dead
I think that, 1. "and broken our blades of guts" 2. "we shall never return let's fall into the sea of stars together" would be some better (and nearer) translations.
Although, you pretty much only lose units via storyline stuff, so you don't have to worry about losing your precious Gundam or Getter because it got shot down. (Unless the mission requires that it lives, in which case you restart the mission/load up a save.) Which doesn't mean it's not hard. It's just that the hard comes from completing secondary objectives instead of keeping everyone alive. And god are some of the optional objectives for those skill points hard.
I had an idea for this song but I think I'll have to do the same thing as you did for the lyrics, doing them from scratch but ill use this video as a template
I made a friend listen to this. Right before the one minute mark, he said this was classical European music. He smashed trough a wall before it was over.
The introduction faintly reminds me of the main theme in "The Phantom of The Opera." Maybe it's because I just heard said theme, but I feel like they give off the same vibe. What the Marvel movies are lacking are awesome theme songs like this.
Avengers Part 4 - Rendition by Jam Project
SRW first came out all the way back on Nintendo... so yeah, its pretty old.
Marvel movies just like just lacks cool, memorable songs that aren't the Avengers theme (which is obviously bested by the EMH one).

I GET THE POWER OF LOVE
I GET THE POWER OF LOVE
「GONG GONG GONG 鳴らせ!!」
今こそ 立ち上がれ 運命(さだめ)の戦士よ
稲妻の剣で 敵を蹴散らせ
