This is one of the Pumpkins' top five songs. If you haven't read the Guitar World article from 1994 about Siamese Dream, there were at least 70-odd tracks of guitar in this because of Billy's perfectionist nature and the whole recording process was a mess.
I believe the guitar here is very influenced by Prince’s Beautiful Ones. I think the comparison of Billy being like a version of Prince for his generation is becoming appropriate considering the size of both of their song catalogues

So haunting the melody, so haunting the lyrics…I can’t escape the way it made me feel 30 years ago, truly one of the greatest songs in my collection.
