I haven't done much with Xanthus' vessel form, so I decided to make this lil thing. Sonic isn't in control at any point here, this is all just Xanthus in his fake sonic form.

this is so good!! ive always loved ordinary too slow so getting an alternate version with xanthus is such a treat, and the little lets play snippet at the end when xanthus transforms back to his vessel is the icing on top of the cake, really really cool

Okay so "yellow eyed freak" seemed really familiar to me in that it seemed like a reference, so I did some research and oh my god. Xanthus is a greek word that literally means yellow. I don't know if this is common knowledge and I'm just (too) slow but either way I think that's really cool.
I can imagine this song being an intermission while they descend into the Marble Zone depths for “The Fighters”.

@@midnight9550 you're probably right. I got confused because I thought that the EXE in fighters was separate from Xanthus since there was already an alternate too slow. So it's just me misunderstanding the progression of Xanthus

One thing I feel like Sonic.EXE takes often screw up is the concept of an evil Sonic; instead of perverting Sonic's ideals and mannerisms into a darker force, they just use him as a vehicle for a completely different character. And that's fine, that's valid, but to me, Xanthus feels like he has Sonic's cockiness and quips in spades.
Thats what im saying! Most sonic.exe's has literally no motivation for what they doing. İts always like :
"Haha i am a devil and captured sonic's body and im evil im gonna kill everyone now muhahahahahahah"
Nominal's verse in other hand, has a real lore and good writen charecters. İ really like both Xanthus's design and motivation.
