correction: Tai Hwa Pork Noodle is the second 1-star Michelin hawker in Singapore
the first 1-star Michelin hawker is awarded to Liao Fan Hawker Chan (Chinatown). it's a soy sauce chicken noodle stall. they opened a line of restaurant after & called with "Hawker Chan" with mention of 1-star Michelin award.

      Ya welcome.
Most noodle stall would have it. It's a flat wavy yellow noodle, it's the tomato sauce that gives the flavour. It's hard to find a bad stall,my whole life probably only met 1 or 2. It's almost like a staple here. Springy noodles and flavorful even tho it look unassuming. One of my comfort food. I just couldn't replicate it at home with store bought tomato sauce. Maybe it's the bit of soup they added or some other condiments. Idk.
Btw don't forget to try dishes from other races like mee rubus and brayani, mutton soup n bone dish. You could try this curry cabbage if u see a nasi padang stall. It's green in colour but it's not thai green curry. The sauce is good but sometimes they dont cook it soft. I like my cabbage soft not crunchy.
If you don't know what to eat. A good reference would be the ones mike chen's went to for his channel(hawker ones at least, cos some of those restaurant i didn't even tried b4 to have any opinion)

The crunch u are looking for in the hokkien mee should come from the pork lard aka pork crackling. However not every stall will give a generous amount as Singaporeans are mostly health conscious 🤣 u can try asking not more next time. As for carrot cake, we have 2 versions here. White being savory and black being the sweet and the more popular one. Do give it a try next time u visit! Bandung is actually rose syrup with milk and Teh Alia should be ginger tea..

3:51.... err there IS egg in it, more than one in fact. HOR-kkien is right :) as opposed to HOE-kkien. but you're right abt the crunch not being there, very rarely do we get a crunchy, crisp fried egg on this, i don't really think its meant to be that way.
Michelin noodles - spot on, there is black vinegar in there.
Bandung is made from Rose syrup, not a fruit heehee. you'll be able to find this drink pretty easy in Indonesia and Malaysia too.

Singapore 👍 city nice and clean
Everything else 👎…the city can’t sustainable by itself….no land for agriculture or manufactures no fresh water and depend on neighboring countries for electricity 👎👎👎

Why should the quality of food be dictated by a farking tyre company ?

Hi Uncle Marwee 👋 We love using Michelin's guides for our food tours, but most of the time we are looking for busy restaurants and long lines filled with locals to tell us where to eat. We think that's one of the best ways to find the best food 😀 Thanks for leaving us a comment 🙌

Clearly the Michelin assessment officer or whatever they are called, was probably drunk when he awarded a Michelin star to that stall or he/she has not tried the same dish in Malaysia. I still believe Michelin should stick to making tires. I’ve eaten in a couple of Michelin stat restaurants and none of them live up to the hypes. Wasted a few thousand dollars for those stupid hypes

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, we understand we are only one opinion and welcome different opinions and perspectives. We have had great luck with Michelin and non-Michelin restaurants alike in our travels. Having so many reviews accessible to us in so many different countries has really helped. Again, we are sorry to hear you haven't enjoyed your experiences, but appreciate you taking time to leave us a comment.

There is more than 1 Michelin Bib Gourmand stall (award given to hawker stall). Check out the listing here: guide.michelin.com/sg/en/selection/singapore/restaurants/bib-gourmand
