I noticed that the M4 motorway is a toll road. What is it with Sydney and tolls? I am originally from Sydney and lived in Penrith back in the Eighties as a teen. Back then there were only a few tolls in Sydney. Now they are everywhere! I am being serious; do the residents of Sydney get a sensual pleasure paying tolls on top of their over priced real estate? Do the good residents of NSW vote for the political party that promises more toll roads?
    Rant over😊
BTW When are you going to do Peppermint Grove to Seville Grove 😊 ?

Haha I think many are voting with their feet and leaving altogether. Apparently it's the immigrants who are propping the population up. And they'll probably leave once they realise how much money they can save elsewhere.
It's on the to-do list. I'll see how I'm going for time this weekend or the next.

Most motorways in our country are now tolled roads - that started in Qld in the 1990’s, when they first started building tollways over the Brisbane River (gateway arterial rd), and the motorway from the bruce highway at Buderim to Noosa. You certainly can’t blame that on NSW. Is also why the excise on fuel was implemented, supposedly so that the more vehicles using the roads, helped pay for their maintenance. Then some ‘clever’ fella thought all the various and differing ‘state’ taxes could be simplified by implementing the gst - which is a federal government taxation, but failed to legislate appropriately so that the States couldn’t keep upping the ante on their own various state taxes. Then we have the superfluous taxes and charges from local council authorities, and now, apparently, we also have to justify pur existence to local indigenous land councils. Nothing like organising a complete and utter stuff up, and calling it “structure” is there!
