Great debate. I learned an unbelievable amount -- I probably know double the amount I did about healthcare policy prior. Gonna need to do a rewatch to get all the facts down.
I was thinking a 2-tier healthcare system like Australia and Singapore, that way most Americans can stop going so bankrupt over medical bills and leave private healthcare to the rich.
Yeah or something similar. If I were ever shot and someone wanted to call the ambulance for me, I'd tell the person to hang up and let me bleed out, because I can't afford the bill.
I wasn't really for anything the Conservative said until he brought up the Switzerland model. Which kinda made sense. I need to research that model more though because with private business models you still have the profit motive which can conflict with the public interest. Which is the problem with Medicare Advantage, in the states anyways. But perhaps other countries have better regulations.
