this viseo is helpful even for those with tech experience. I did find one detail while see the video is that at the begining when doing EQ you select a chanel being said, the veiw understands that upon selecting a channel you"re equalizing that particular channel. At the end of the video, "concluding" it is mensioned on another video on how to EQ a channel which raises intergragation at the beginging of the video.?????????? I saw the video on how to EQ a channel and saw no difference from the first although stated in a different way. Your ilustrations are awsome. Good work.🙂
you have been a good help to me in learning with the x32 i recieved this year, but would like to hear when you would have a workshop training, either online or near central america.
You are absolutely on point anytime you post a new video Drew.....I have a question for you but you said you definitely do a video on that.. I was actually going to ask how do I do a correct EQ like yourself and is there any approach to doing that?.....Kudos for your great work...God keep you for us.
Thanks for all these exceptionally well made educational videos on the X32. You´re truly next level when it comes to teaching, and since I´m a new X32 owner, your videos has been crucial for me to learn how to use it, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for these exceptionally well made videos. One question thou that I can´t seem to find in any documentation, nor in any video or forum when I do a search. I´ve been using analog consoles my entire life and I´ve been used to pretty much never turning them off and just leaving them on all the time. What is the preferred way of dealing with this for the X32 (or any digital console for that matter) since it´s basically a computer and it has a screen etc? Do you turn it off after every work day? Are there any potential dangers of keeping it on for weeks/months without turning it off? Since it has a screen, can the screen become "burnt in" like an old computer screen could if it´s turned on with the same screen info for too long? I can´t seem to find any "screen saver" like mode on it, or only turn the screen off or dim it or something to prevent it from "burning"?
Super cool video! I would love to see which fx can be used on which instruments or vocals and how they sound live because there is so many and I’m barely learning and don’t know the difference
I’d like to see a video on how to setup a PA. We have our mains fed through the main LR fader and subs through a bus mix. Both of these are EQd to have a crossover between them. However, I think there might be a better way to do this but I’m not sure. If you could make a video explaining the different ways to do this and possibly the best one for my scenario that would be great. If you need more info I’ll be glad to share. Thanks Drew.
regardless of pa equipment (digital or analogue) some things don't change the performers need to hear themselves to stay in time and key. this can be any type of speakers for this. The size and amount we be dictated by how big is the audience. I recommend if you need the punch of subs then then use a minimum of 12" main speakers subs minimum 15". For monitoring speakers good to use next size down, if using side or backfill speakers be same as mains. Some venues won't allow subs at all so bigger main speakers are a must. Any other type of system say full digital with performers using in ears with p16 mixers will be a good long term investment. look at someone's setup for an idea no two are the same you may get by with ten inputs or may need grow to be 30 or more inputs. look at U tube search how to use the smallest number of inputs needed. I have a 16 channel also a x32 digital mixers 12 to 24 channel analogue mixers.
Hi Drew. We have an issue with our two S16 in our church. Sometimes when we are starting our X32 all the Gain settings are lost. It seems that this happens when the S16 have been disconnected from the power outlet for a certain period of time. We do not only switch them off but disconnect our whole PA system from the power outlet. Could this be the reason for loss of gain settings in our scenes? I could not find an answer for that in the web.
X32 Vocal compression and effects like reverb. I feel like I can’t get the compression right. Sometime the singer clips so I turn it up be then sounds weird when singing more mellow. Also how do I get the effect on individual channels?
If you are asking about sampling drums, more of the the sound of the mic 'triggering' a drum sample sound, then no. The X32 does not support that. You could however do that in an external DAW program. As far as saving and recalling EQ curves and settings that you have on the channel, then yes! I have a video on that!
Thank you for the video Drew. Can you help me with a problem though...? I don't know how to add my M/C bus to a DCA, and I know that that was part of the 4.06 firmware update. Must I do this with the X32 Edit software, or can I do it from the console. If so, do you know how to do it?? I cannot find any resources on this issue, and I'm desperate, so here you go!
Please, could you show how properly send out stereo? I tried with 2 Mix Bus outs (panned to L and R) into interface with 2 inputs, but the Panning I applied to different channels doesnt seem to work on Mix Buses (work in PA though) :(
Thank you so much for all these pieces of information you are freely giving us. I'm a newbie to the console and I have an M32 live, M32C, and DL32 console for my Ministry but I have learned a lot from your channel. My question: From the manufacture the buses 13,14,15,16 are assigned for effects. How do I control the volume of these buses for PA plug on these OUTPUTs ( 13,14,15,16)? Thanks! 🙏
If possible I would like to see a more in-depth video on what actually does and doesn't get saved when you save a complete show. I want to save each band I run sound for with "starting point" configuration that includes channel names and monitor settings.
Hello I bought an x32 rack I have in configuration an X32 Compact for the facade with a Box DL32 Midas internship, with WiFi Router,.My question I was told that we could have a different EQ between the facade and the returns I speak of EQ EQ and not of the eq master on returns. If you have configuration I am interested, the connection everything works with the sound, but nothing works in EQ on each edge on the returns.Routing connection I start from the AES50-A of the compact to the X32 rack in B and then a rack to the A DL32 Midas Small details the inputs and outputs are coughing connected to the DL32 Midas
Thanks for the informative video, Drew! If you have time, I’d like a video describing the different pass filters available on the main LR and main C EQ sections, specifically what sort of situations each type would be useful for. I generally use the BU24 mode for crossovers, but honestly don’t have any reason or motive aside from trying not to encounter phase cancellation in live pop up situations. Thanks!
I have a sd16 snake I have no idea what mode it is in competed to s16 which is in mode 1. I am using a hybrid system and wish to expand it to 32 inputs. Is the SD16 useable in this system. I can find no reference anywhere. This setup is very practical it is way more compact and only takes seconds to setup gear sound quality is up there with the best there is. A small system should never be inferior to a larger setup
I would lineup to be the first to buy an x16 mixer if one existed. In real terms I mostly use a 16 channel analogue mixer which all like it just don't have many of the features of the x32. I see no reason why an identical mixer should be available with less inputs. It could also expand my x32 when needed. A final note the networking section is all that you would need to go to a second mixer or to an onstage digital snake or anything else
@@wombyfarthing4381 Both the X32 Compact, and X32 Rack have 16 XLR Ins and 8 XLR outs (plus 6 Aux in jacks, and 6 Aux out Jacks). I have both, usually using the X32 Rack as the AES connected stage box, which can be expanded with 1 or 2 SD8s for more Ins & Outs. The X32 Compact is a much more manageable size and weight compared to the full size, and is a one person lift in the Gator soft case, but it has all the internal/ software features of the full size, as does the X32Rack. Either can be AES linked to any other X32 family mixer.
I had a thought about what mode sd16 snakes must be in mode one with splitter mode otherwise the p16 mixers would not work. I am also going to get a second ada8200 this will then give me 16 returns. The total weight is about the same as a powered speaker. If I had sd8 snakes I would use them two would be nice.
another thing to highlight, don't play the pink noise for too long time. It will overheat the coil inside the speaker because it keep change the vibration speed to produce full range of spectrum. Practise eq can just play single instrument/vocal channel till full band
Great video! I’d love to see a video on setting up a livestream broadcast mix with separate channel eq’s. My church is currently using channels 1-16 for all our microphones and instruments, and we want to use channels 17-32 to create a separate mix with different eq from the FOH so a separate sound tech can mix with an iPad on the x32 edit app. We tried to route each input to 2 channels (for example a vocal mic plugged into channel 2 is also routed to channel 18) but for some reason we can’t get the mixbus for the livestream to hear a signal on channel 18.
Hi Kevin Kim, i would suggest, that instead of using channel 17-32, use a matrix for your livestream, thats the function of a matrix, which is a mixer within a mixer... everything is separate and a thing to note is your tap point on your bus routing either pre- or post fader.. both have their advantages and disadvantages. I gues Drew has a video on that..
Hi Drew, "Safes" are really misunderstood. I know you did a video on them ages ago but from my chats on various forums I really feel people don't understand how the SAFE system works. Exactly WHAT is being "Safed" and how are scenes affected. For a long time I thought (and I know many other do too) that when I "safed" a scene and then saved it that scene would come back as I wanted it when I reloaded it. But this isn't the case. Safe means, I think, that, assuming a parameter is "X'd", the incoming scene will not overwrite that parameter in the desk. This means that if I want my incoming scene to change something then I must "un X" that box on the desk before loading the scene. Or.......? As an aside, is there somewhere that explains exactly what all the Safes that are possible, there are hundreds of check boxes, actually are doing ? Keep up the good work
Thanks very much for your videos. I'm watching you from Ghana and you've really impacted me a lot which for now you're my mentor and my teacher
Drew, you're a saint for helping so many to serve the Lord!
Drew is the best!

Best to do your crossover functions (speaker processing) externally from the console, via a dedicated crossover unit.
Thanks for the video. One small remark, IMO at 13:03, it should be "That's what our *high-cut* is" -- not "low-cut".
Thank you so much

Sir please tell about delay alignment show x32 foot routing for smart v8
Awesome vid! Helped a lot! Just wondering, how do get that darker UI? I can't stand the lighter one. Thanks!

check the gain, just use compression wont work if the input volume is too high. Over compression will cause distorted sound
Hi, can you load preset drums to a specific drum channel strip, i mean more like replacing the sound?

can we see more of the Wing
When backing up does the room eq get backed up? And if I wipe the board does it return?

One Thing also about the EQ section of the X32 is that if ur puttiing EQ on a Matrix u can select Crossover Modes like LR 24 & LR48 14:32

should subs be on aux(recieving just instruments that has low end.like bass drum and bass guiter) or should subs recieve signal from a crossover??
We have a lapel mic that’s always giving feedback and sounds choppy in the system. Please help!!
I got lost. How do you "see" the noise. How do you activate that feature?
Thanks! Brasil.
Do you eq the outputs (Wedge monitors and HOF)
How do you stop clipping? love the content that's out.👍🏾
check the volume, lower down the gain/add compressor

Hallo bro
This eq is so advanced, it’s ineffective. Doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as older gear. I’m selling my x32, I’m going back to analog.
Lol okay
😂
Learn to use it, I'll never go back to analog
Okay jimmy
