Protesters angered by allegations of corruption linked to Mongolia's coal trade with China tried to force their way into the State Palace in the capital, demanding the dismissals of officials involved in the scandal.
They were demanding that the government hold officials accountable for the alleged theft of 385,000 tons of coal from stockpiles on Mongolia's border with China.

Yes, corruption at the central and regional levels simply corrodes Mongolian economy. Where they receive bribes, the issuing any licenses isn't a problem. But in case of such an oil company as Petro Matad, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, a real disgrace and arbitrariness is happening. Foreign investors, invested huge amounts of their money and helped PM to discover huge oil reserves 3.5 years ago. But till now company cannot get a land permit and start extraction, apparently someone desperately want to get a bribe.

I never graduated high school, now they just call capital used letters ADHD, PTSD, OCD and give medication to everypne. But I was blessed with what call a bulls hit alarm in my head. It starts a song called " your not the boss of me your (fill in the blank) but do remember hearing "the enemy of your enemy is your friend!" I remember hearing that because I never had friends...

Good morning Brother! I am in Sedona Arizona usa. I love Mongolia so much I have been pretending I was cha chingus Khan in a past life since forever! Hear me now, they have not taught you the language to resist them. I am white woman but I grew up near the Navajo reservation, born into the Mormon church who encourage a lot of children. Babies babies everywhere, I spent my life babysitting. Navajo babies are born with blue marks on their backs! Look at the map where you are and where I am, they have taught lies to subjugate nomadic people. It is not safe to protest in the streets. A Time Bank is the idea that will free trade, my poor brain...ill bee back

@@cocamilo22 Cyrillic is standard in Mongolia. Everyone accepts it as their script and uses it. Apart from a small group of (what might be termed "culturally aware" or "historically aware") people who feel a strong attachment to it, the traditional script is a "heritage script": symbolically nice to have but not regarded as practical, useful, or a serious script for any everyday purpose. (See Enkhsaihan Shinegerel's comment above.) To a large extent Mongolians accept the identity that the Russians moulded for them. Cyrillic is Khalkha, and Khalkha is "real Mongolian". Other varieties, standards, or dialects are not taken seriously. Similarly, Cyrillic has become the real Mongolian script for most Mongolians. That's the way it is. And let's face it, the traditional script is too hard for most Mongolians.
