Aye it’s back on the road just now but it’s not as fast as it used to be I think it needs a proper driver for a while to loosen it up a bit 😄

That has to be the loudest auto box on the planet and with huge slippage/ pause - shall I change gear? Yes!!!!!between gear changes. Take the box out put a manual- semi auto -? Pre select in it. A lot less noise. What was that farting?
OMG what a racket... Do they drive without engine cover... I'm a bus driver but i don't understand WHY people want to sit above the engine.

For some reason some Voith gearboxes are really loud and others are whisper quiet. Noticed this across different fleets. Maybe it's just a maintenance thing (oil used and how often it's replaced?) but i could be wrong. This one however sounds like it's about to come apart. Never heard one so loud before

Yes, there is only one here and it still see's service most weekdays. It will become a spare vehicle in October and will then become rarer in service though.

This drive is very uncomfortable Lots of noise You can hardly talk to each other The engine is much too weak The 4-speed Voith gearbox keeps dragging a long time between two positions Also because of the low power of I think at most 120 hp where 350 hp would have been much better
Voith was already in the 60s with noisy gearboxes in the competition of the gearboxes for buses and they haven't improved one bit in those say 45 years The prototype was the 2-speed Voith Diwa 200 used in city buses and they continued with that until well into the 80s

Mark Allan I agree about it sounding better with ZF however I must disagree about it sounding terrible. It's amazing in my opinion.
That sound from this bus is so terrible! In Israel, every Golden Dragon XML6125cc is not loud than this sound. Worst kickdown ever!
