It's wild that Joseph was a last minute alternative. It's hard to think what this season would be like without him.
Claire and Joseph filling basically the same role in the story
@@thefoxoflaurels3437 these last three alternates have been great. Claire, Christian, and Joseph are awesome
Taylor even retweeted a tweet from a casting director who said both her and Joseph were picked for F boy island, but neither of them could make it - but both met on BB😭
@@lylamarcks christian?
It's almost like they cast clout chasing, over-the-top-to-a-ridiculous-degree people and decide that the more grounded and authentic people aren't worthy to make the shortlist
The ride to the end was a rollercoaster, but Taylors underdog comeback is the best comeback of reality tv history. She made this season and the fact that she won nearly unanimously is fitting.
@UCLiSEyGNXxZwmgtGDGorDVQ if Monte knows how the game works and makes good moves then why did he willingly take one of the biggest jury threats in the history of this game to F2 💀
Idk. Chris in Survivor Vanuatu was pretty good.
@@snuffedtorch3683 i would say they are about equal when it comes to “best,” but when it comes to taylor hers will be way more iconic. she made history in so many ways, while chris is often overlooked as a survivor winner.
@@snuffedtorch3683 the Chris comeback is the best in reality tv history, but the edit doesn’t help, Jeff and the editors hated Chris.
Recency bias
"With the Lay's?" is up there as one of the most unintentionally funny moment of Big Brother
Iconic
The beginning is a rough start
But knowing the narrative of this season is basically Taylor’s karma makes this season 1000% more compelling and elevates it to top tier status
Definitely a season with everything in it and I definitely rate it a top 10 season. I recommend it for new viewers tbh. Thank you Taylor for making this season worth watching
Agree
I feel like if Taylor didn't win, the season as a whole wouldn't have been as good. You needed that full circle story arc for her to achieve greatness
a good example is michies win, it felt really undeserve.. if nicole this season was good
Not only does assuming another cookout is forming require evidence, but how could you come to that conclusion where there is evidence AGAINST it.
^this
that part coz barely any of the poc/foreign housemates even liked or were ever around eachother lmaooo
@@jayd3455 every poc hated taylor at some point
the most impressive thing about taylor was her ability to get the people that trashed her from day 1 (jasmine, indy, etc.) being her biggest cheerleaders for the win
I grew up being bullied so i rooted for taylor as a victim cos i related... but she rose above that narrative so she deserved a win not just thru sympathy but thru recognition as a true WARRIOR. This was the first season i ever watched and i'm glad i started with this one.
You need to do an analysis on Taylor’s Karma. It’s right up there with Dan’s Mist in how it slays enemies. Something must be in the water for Michigan players.
@@SchmergDergen dude you are obsessed with Taylor, you're under every goddamn comment 💀
Hm... I mean, depending on where you go, there is SOMETHING in the water...
@@lungboy8980 I think they are a fan. People like what they want, lets not attack them for it. It makes you seem like a hater.
@@VyctoriaBrooks ma'am this is a year old, what was the purpose
Taylor's story is one for the history books for sure. Definitely one of the most riveting seasons to watch live even though I was pretty much only invested in Taylor. Her coming out on top in the finale in the face of all of the others who underestimated, disrespected, and/or outright bullied her definitely brings a strong case for a top 5 placement overall. The season succeeded in spite of its twists and in spite of its lackluster cast. One other point to make is that Big Brother actually managed to keep up with its festival theme for the entire season! Expect the Unexpected indeed!
Honestly 2022 is such an interesting year for Big Brother. Like BBCan10, I believe BB24 was a mess that normally wouldn't have worked. Yet somehow did. Much like Can10, I think BB24 was such an unpredictable season & knowing the underdog story Taylor wins in is just so satisfying
"Even Andy Herren would agree" he definitely did and said as much on twitter. She really did give a phenomenal speech. Did Monte really not expect the pageant winner to be able to speak well
I completely agree! 3rd place season for me as well. People have their own opinions, so nobody has to agree with it being this high. But I honestly cannot fathom why this season would not be in your Top 10. Best underdog story in reality tv. Period. Something interesting happening every week. History being made with Mike’s comps, Taylor’s win and AFP. I mean if you didn’t like this season, you don’t like Big Brother. Thank you for your coverage as always Peridiam :)
Yep! I understand not everyone loving the winner and that'll definitely influence your perspective of the season, but I still think everything BB24 brings each week is entertaining or intriguing in some way, whereas most other seasons just don't hold a candle on a week to week basis.
I don't know as someone who doesn't watch feeds why people keep saying best story ever best story ever, its getting annoying. It didn't come off as the most abused person ever. Is anyone over 18 here? Like did anyone live through the most brutal seasons ever? Eval Dick and Jen, or Janelle and Maggie? I tried to say this on RHAP and got banned. So sigh. It just came off to me as typical, OK someone gets singled out for elimination, they survive. I just have to vote on what I saw on show/social media and for me Taylor is NOT a Top 3 winner this just seems like delusional. But I don't want to get banned again if I do then oh well and I won't say any more. I know the way people are about Taylor.
@@Ruddline no one said Taylor is top 3 winner. They said top 3 season 📖
@@Ruddline the show didnt show it at all thats why her story didnt come accross on tv, just because you didnt see it without feeds doesnt mean it didnt happen, theres a big difference between the examples you gave and the systematic exclusion she got for the first couple of weeks
@@Ruddline It's not just getting singled out for elimination it's literally over half the cast ganging up on her week one and having her beat the odds completely.
She really did see Daniel on finale night 🤣
The biggest twist of Big Brother 24 was Joseph's 25th Birthday. Lmao.
This season had so much going on. It is the definition of a rollercoaster season. From Taylor being isolated in week 1 to Paloma self-evicting, Pooch's bad move, the Leftovers forming, the Split House twist, the situation with Kyle, Michael, and Brittany, all the way to the finale with Taylor winning against all odds. I absolutely loved this season. It's one of the few modern seasons I could fully watch from beginning to end (minus the Memory Lane episode).
This is a fantastic season despite its flaws. I rank it as a top tier season, probably around #3 as well (behind Seasons 6 and 10).
Yeah. I have either at 4 (bellow 10, 6, and 3) or at 3 (bellow 10 and 6).
Exactly, it was poetic justice that she won. She best represented the season and defeated all of her foes. While stressful to follow live, looking back I appreciate how strong she was throughout! You couldn’t make this up if you tried! Top tier season for sure 😌
Brittany playing messy especially after Michael left was such a highlight to me, so enjoyable to watch. I didn't think I'd like her but I ended up really rooting for her, and of course Taylor.
michael, brittmey and ofc taylor were amazing this season in their own way... i was team michael but taylor winning was NEEDED
Y’know, in a really ironic way, Paloma saved the season from being a pretty depressing steamroll to the end
I would be TOTALLY cool with the house split twist (but random) coming back
I am hoping that splitting the house becomes a regular thing. It cound stand to be tweaked but it is the best twist the show has had since I can't even remember how long. Well over a decade.
@@dantheman8103 I would say better conditions for the people on the outside because they were all miserable not even halfway through the week, and make it completely random as well since it gave the HOH’s too much power with the schoolyard pick
Taylor's karma was really wokring overtime
I never once gave up on Taylor. Top 5 season, top 1 winner❤❤
Taylor was literally THE main character all season long. Legend, icon, etc
This season was a ride full of emotions.
Turner revealed in an interview that the jury told him they had decided a head of time that if Taylor was in the finals they would vote for her no matter what. It doesn’t take anything away from how amazing her speech was, but it didn’t actually change how anyone was going to vote.
Could be interesting to remember that Michael unleashed the #KyleBomb to save Taylor as the third member of his core three : he was saved by winning veto and Brittany was to be saved by his veto choice leaving Taylor vulnerable ... and so he decided to go full power on Kyle with special ammunition ... in ordre to save the Lays-Queen ! People seems to forget this ...
I always love your videos but I think I liked this one just a bit extra. Maybe it's because Taylor and I are both Michigan girls (side note, the school Dan teaches at is very close to where I grew up) but I adored her from the moment she walked in the door. I'm so glad that she won. This was a really fun season.
The most important factor in any season is always the cast. I think that's why the older seasons are ranked so high- they casted very differently. But I believe bb24 had a new casting director and I think that made a huge difference.
Despite one of the worst and longest week ones ever, this season really turned itself around and has become my favourite modern season. Taylor winning really was the cherry on top and made the narrative of the season even more sweeter. Looking forward to seeing what next year has in store for us
This was one of my favorite seasons to watch. It gave off BBCAN 9 vibes, like seeing the true hero ending to a Legend of Zelda game.
I was tearing up when Taylor won, because she went through so much. From being bullied, to being a cat with 9 lives, to the ultimate underdog, almost like a Denise Stapley story, Taylor earned that win and is one of my favorite winners in Big Brother. As much as the beginning of this season made me wanna stop watching the show, but it made up for it with the end game and finale.
I always look forward to your reviews each season! Thank you for being with us on Twitter, and for summarizing the season constructively and beautifully. I agree, despite possible recency bias, this season's story and winner can never or rarely be rewritten again in future seasons. Keep it up with the quality content Peridiam!
BBCAN10 and BB24 are by far the best of big brother we've had in a while imo and make me glad the shows are still going.
And I know people really liked BBCAN9 and BB23 too (I'm probably not nearly as high on BB23 mostly because of Big D and how final 6 on played out) so having such strong follow up seasons is astounding to me.
I know and I’m super excited for the future of BB. I personally think BB23 and BBCAN10 are overrated but they’re still good. BBCAN9 and BB24 are two of my fav seasons in the history of big brother tho!
Bbcan10 is one of my fav seasons ever and BBCAN9 is one of my least favourite ever I fear. I think this season would've been bottom 5 terrible had anyone but Taylor won tbh.
I’ve heard about this show for a while and watched one season celebrity Uk a few years ago but in May I started watching from season 1. When this season came along I was prob on like season 3 and it was so different and both were so good. This show is addicting and good
I know it's like drugs u just want more!
Meh season was honestly pretty meh, Taylor winning in the way she did seemed too easy to guess. It seemed less like any strategy actually played by the anyone. The prejury was an alliance made of people that couldn't win a comp, and post jury was a by the numbers situation.
Its cool that Taylor won after the early season hate, but, it seems to produced if that makes sense everyone became caricatures. And taylors final speech was basically a vote for me or you look bad on TV rather then for the work I did. Where she really didn't do much she want what kept her from being evicted the house just randomly decided it everytime she was on the block and everyone followed suit for some reason
80% of the prior Big Brother seasons had all white alliances.
Come on, it was understood, stop playing.
80%? More like 95%
I didn't watch this season, but I can imagine the insane level of hype coming from the fanbase when Taylor got the victory after everything she was put through. It's basically the BB19 good ending.
That Jasmine clip at 24:08 talking about where this season “falls”
I see what you did there…
21:30 "FROM THE HEART" AND IT'S JOSEPH 😭
"You can't write this stuff, and therein lies the beauty." Is itself quite a beautiful quote!
I was ready to write the season off in the first week, just like many other seasons.
After the eviction was cancelled, I vaguely payed attention to the live feeds, just cause I wanted to see if Taylor could survive.
Oh man...I am so glad I went along for the whole ride. Probably my fave season to watch to date.
This was Taylor's story...and it was a DAMN good one.
Taylor carried the season 😭❤️
I feel like the 16-22 era will be seen as the big brother dark ages similar to survivors dark age around s21-s26
Yes stop with the gimmicks and go back to 16 strangers no relatives, past players, etc.
Greatest finale of all time the reason I think it was so unexpected was because it was so cliché if this were a Hollywood movie people would say that’s just too corny to perfect all I know is I had goosebumps at the end when Taylor was giving a speech
The final 7/8-3 was great, what carried the season. I hated that split house though (i loved festie bestie tho)
It's honestly a shame Taylor's gameplay strategy is absolutely unrankable due to the fact a main factor were personal problems that evolved in the house itself that is simply not judgable nor reproducible.
You cannot put "Being bullied by the entire house" on a tier list for purposeful gameplay.
i do think her social game is phenomenal. being a target the ENTIRE time and surviving to win takes a good social game. at the finale michael said he made moves he probably shouldnt have to make taylor happy. monte brought taylor to the final 2 and when he did he told her he promised her he would. she had a way of not only making people feel bad for her but making ppl feel like they had to make it up to her. after all her enemies were out the house they couodve easily sent her home but her social relations were so good no one took the chance bc they all felt she was in their corner.
Kyle being the winner at ANY point is a funny joke lol
Paloma is a mean, mean girl
Well done 👍
You hit most of the main points
Congratulations AGAIN to Taylor ❤
👏👏👏👏👏
Before my general comment about the season I do want to say that it's always revealing when people are more mad about how somebody exposed racism vs. the actual racism itself. Kyle got swept into the DR and was immediately coached about how to make the problem go away, then we get to blame the gay guy and woman for not revealing it properly. They would have got called opportunists when they did it earlier because they lacked evidence, just like they got called it afterwards. You're full of shit. You want to talk about Michael and Brittany because you don't want to talk about how racist and common the thought process is of fully adult people like Kyle.
There is something to the Survivor approach of having several tribes to start with. The dueling festival double eviction twist was ugly in many aspects, but did break up the steamrolling of a major alliance. The steamrolling trend is also part of the reason why when something like Taylor being berated just has all the houseguests watching and not doing anything besides creating a secret alliance. I almost wonder if they could do something with like pre-jury having two HOHs who each nominate someone, then having two Vetos. I'm just sick of every pre-jury just being ugly mob mentality.
Taylor had the ultimate underdog story in BB. I have never rooted for a player this hard before.
You seemed to let Kyle himself off easy, even though, like he said, at the end of the day, HE was the one who said those words, no matter anyone's reaction or inaction to them, HE'S the one who did it, for no good reason.
My roommate has watched Big Brother for years. This season seeing Taylor with the Lay's potato chips prompted him to get me to buy him potato chips. So I bought the lightly salted ones (just as good as the original kind) and we haven't stopped with the chips since.
so many of you are mad Taylor won. Boo hoo. she had a phenomenal social game.
@UCLiSEyGNXxZwmgtGDGorDVQ if he had a better social game he wouldn’t have lost almost all the jury votes, in fact during the jury round table most of them said they didn’t have a relationship with monte. his social game and jury management was abysmal.
The way I see the Kyle situation, it's unfair to hold it against Michael or Brittany because we don't know if they would withhold this information in the real world. I hypothesize that they only covered it up to avoid blood on their hands.
You go, Peridiam. Yes, we were there! Thanks for capturing this amazing season so beautifully.
This season was amazing. It gave me everything I wanted. SO many memorable personalities and moments.
I can only imagine what people like Daniel and Nicole were thinking when they realized Taylor was also AFH. Talk about on the wrong side of history
you can’t convince me that taylor’s treatment didn’t have to do with her being the darkest skinned black woman in the house. we’ve seen over and over again black women (and other minorities) on the show be sent home so soon because there was no real target at the time so they get put up for seemingly no reason or are ostracized while they were still in the house (BB21).
Hey Peridiam! I am currently watching bb8 and just saw Jessica get evicted. How do you feel about Jessica as a player? I feel like she played the game extremely well and just got outplayed by the Donato’s and screwed over by Eric. Her gut feeling about people was right on the money, but I never hear much about her. To me she played a great game!
Check out my Top 10 Underrated BB Players vid! 😉
excellent excellent. Your videos are always quality.
This season was just OK after the split house twist it got really predictable and boring which sucks but it was fun to watch Taylor win
You think so? I didn’t think it was predictable at all. With Michael’s eviction, britney flipping on Taylor because of montay. And monte picking Taylor I didn’t know what was going to happen at the end.
I am so damn proud of that girl.
Peridiam, since you watched the whole season, did Taylor first mention wanting a black woman to win this season before or after Kyle speculating the alliance? As an audience watching the episodes we saw Taylor say she wanted a black woman to win before the flashbacks of Kyle speculating, so I'm just curious when the days aligned, since watching the episodes it made Kyle's actions justifiable if he did it after Taylor's comments, which is what we saw, kind of.
It wasn't really portrayed like that though. taylor was barely in the kyle week.
@@TripleBBBBB well chronologically with the episodes Kyle was after Taylor, but I am just wondering when exactly both happened first, because it does make a huge difference if Taylor was saying she wanted a black woman to win first, that is very much so justifiable for Kyle to do what he did
The hate Taylor got made me angry because it came out of nowhere and pure jealousy. Turner is a good person for saying something about it too.
Best season since BB17, just wish the cast was more likable lol.
You’re definitely putting the Kyle situation lightly. Not only was there not the same cause but it was in no way justified to assume there was a Cookout 2.0. On so many levels, thats rooted in race and he admitted it. And let’s not forget, he actively created an all white alliance to counteract a non-existent Cookout 2.0 for weeks prior to the whole thing blowing up in his face. Looking back at his actions at Dyre Fest and before, a lot seems to factor into it which was noticed by many fans before. Kyle is a 29-year-old man. He may say he’s sheltered, but act in this way is extremely inexcusable. Also, we’re just going to pretend he didn’t micro-aggress many of the houseguests of color? I don’t know what it will take people to understand you don’t need to be using racial slurs to be considered racist or to do something racist.
The problem is there was no reason for anyone in Season 23 to assume there was a Cookout 1.0 either, but it did exist. And because of that and the reason for forming it leads to incorrect, but understandable paranoia surrounding it.
@@mothinhead8903 So, because black people did something one time, it’s reasonable to assume that every other season that it’ll happen. I don’t think that assuming anything on the basis of race is okay. Whether it be alliances and such. You don’t see people scared of a “Committee 2.0” or all the other all white alliances we have had. And yes I know your counterpoint would be that these alliances weren’t formed on the basis of race, but I don’t really know about that. The systematic evictions of people of color has been a constant trend.
@@pixomatu4890 I don't think that assuming anything on the basis of race is okay either, but it literally happened the season before. That is why so many people were worried about the future of big brother, because an alliance formed due to people being the same race. And when people pointed out how this could lead to problems (which Kyle's paranoia is a direct example of) all they got in response was "I think it's great!" and "But the mission was important, you don't understand that it was about the mission", which did nothing to address that people were/are encouraged to align together if they are of a similar minority race.
@@pixomatu4890 And they're not scared of Committee 2.0 because new players can't pregame, and they aren't scared of all white alliances because they know Big Brother would crack down on an open white alliance and shun them post-game. There is no real world repercussion for an open all-black alliance.
The problem is you think someone should have perfect information in a game where lying is what everyone does. Remember The Cookout strat is to make false friends with white people and backstab them. So Kyle is stressing out thinking this can happen. I think Kyle's problem in the game WAS extreme paranoia. Like if he had just made his decisions without needing to say it out loud, he would've gotten away with it probably. He was in the position to win then Michael blew him out of the water.
It was going to be taylor or turner. They had the moments and Turner had a really good game.
I would love to see you make a video about "How To Win Big Brother"
Great recap...top 5 for me...the hate was so middle school and to watch an old man join in made it worse...thanks for not saying his name much.
Festie besties 1st benefited Po’s pack. They picked everyone outside that alliance.

So beautiful. I was rooting for Taylor since Day 2 lol or whenever I binged the first 4 episodes.
Great video Pred!
If Michael and Brittany were really concerned about the comments kyle brought up, why keep that information for 2 weeks? Seems like they were trying to use that information as an advantage
they absolutely only mentioned it because they saw it as a way to save taylor and get out kyle, who was the only threat to michael outside of turner possibly. if they saw it as big of an issue as they made it out to be they would have done it when it happened and not 2 weeks later. Terrance saw through that.
Her story is similar to Juliette's🥺 (Big Brother Brasil 21 winner with one of the most obvious victories ever)

I cried during the finale MULTIPLE times
Incase some of you are clueless both season 23 and season 24 were rigged in order for the very first black players to win Big Brother because they couldn't get a black winner any other way really sad that they had to use not only a racist alliance but have Taylor claim that the females were being racist towards her

I just love that Taylor got to finish what Danielle started 20 years to the day later.
One legend to another
People saying Taylor will be forgettable as if she isn't the first black woman to win and if I'm not mistaken the first person to both win the game and win AFP, used a fake fauxmance to make her seem like less of a threat and have it actually work, getting drunk around the "girls girls" and opening up, seeming like less of a threat (can't remember if that was intentional but it was funny regardless), she was good in the comps, unintentionally gave us a love triangle. Gave us "with the lays". Had the houseguest pressed over an outfit. Like her or not. To call her boring or forgettable after having winners like Kaycee/Miche and Cody who barely faced any obstacles during there games......let's stop with the nonsense
Taylor's story also is just what absolutely makes this season so good. Paloma and Monte really started the biggest part of the Taylor hate and she managed to survive longer than Paloma and then go on to beat Monte in the F2 wearing the same jumpsuit that the entire house hated on her for and on top of that winning exactly 20 years after Danielle Reyes had lost Big Brother
This yesss
The girls were hating, Daniel is just in the closet and refuses to come on out lol he wants to be a woman. Monty was annoying. She wasn’t all over him and that’s where his hate came from. The others just jumped on the bandwagon in hopes it keeps them safe in the house because the majority didn’t like her.
