Similar thing with my dog. We're bilingual and our dog responds interchangeably to both languages, but he responds better to certain commands in one language and other commands in the other. We weren't really consistent when training him, so now he understands "come" in English but not "go", and things like that.
@@Phontoz Yeah. My dad, who is not German at all, trains all his dogs with German commands. And his father, who trained guard dogs professionally, did the same. Idk what it is about the German language

German just so happens to sound like barking, so it can be easier, but you don't need to say "sit" in German for it to work, and if a dog is trained on "sit" but they've never heard the German word for it before, then the German version won't work.
The concept of small stinging insects turning people into zombies, reminds me of a concept I once had, for a Turn Based Strategy Game. The insects were called the Scourge and they are bio-engineered wasps, designed by an Extraterrestrial Empire to strike terror and inflict mass casualties to their enemies. An individual Scourge is about as big as a rat and uses a venom that suppressed the nervous system, allowing more Scourge to burrow inside victim and hijack all motor functions. From there, the zombie will become a walking hive, as the several Scourge will begin to lay their eggs inside the victim, as newly hatched Scourge, burst from the hive ready to repeat the gruesome process. The main weakness of the Scourge are incendiary weapons, as Flamethrowers and White Phosphorus could incinerate scores of Scourge and zombies.

Unrelated, but i have a story recommendation that you may or may not like, but i promise you, it is pretty interesting. It is a fanatsy called "The Fight We Chose" and it is a fanfiction. Now i know you already tempted to grab the nearest shotgun to blew your own brain out when you read, fanfiction, but trust me, this one is pretty good it could be it's own published novel. So "The Fight We Chose" was a GATE fanfic. GATE itself was an isekai anime where an interdimensional gate was open between Japan and a Roman like fantasy work. Long story short, the fantasy world invade Japan but was repeled by the JSDF. The anime was basically a what if a modern warfare vs medieval army story. It has a pretty good world building and a realistic potrayal of a modern military. The anime have a good potential as it has great action and a pretty interestimg worldbuilding but was held back due to the usual isekai anime trope. Now, in "The Fight We Chose". Instead of opening in Tokyo, in the 2010's, the gate open in Dallas, Texas, right before the JFK assasination. Basically the fic replace the JSDF with a 1960's US military as its protagonist, but it is more than that, as the fic also delve into alternate history in a pretty detailed manner. For example, because the gate was open and the medieval army invaded that day, JFK cancel his campaign and was evacuated to the Air Force One, and Lee Harvey Oswald, who now didn't have anyone to assasinated ended up using his rifle to kill the invaders and was remembered as a martyr. And JFK personally commend his action unaware of his true motive. And because now the US has an inderdimentional gate on its soil, they focus all their effort to invaded the other side, which lead to the total withdrawal of all US military personel from South Vietnam years earlier. And for the portrayal of the US military, the author didn't potray them as saints, as this time, they're quite open to everyone that their intention is to overthrow the empire that invaded Texas. They also use chemical weapons and repeatedly referring to the natives as 'savages'. And the US citizen is mostly onboard with it since the empire had enslaved many Americans. It was an interesting read. Sorry for the long comment
The evil bees sound like a souped-up version of realworld Africanized bees. They're a crossbreed of African and European bees that are much hardier than regular bees (esp to some of their biggest threads, like varroa mites) but they are much more aggressive. They do kill and out-compete native bees. They're capable of killing large animals and people, and sting like 10x more than regular bees. Gah, I can't believe I read something with this terrible level of biology as a kid! I'm going to have to binge read Tales of Kaimere for a while. There's some genuinely terrifying monsters in that universe, and they're all biologically plausible (albeit some have merged with an alien microorganism that allows for crazy abilities). Seriously, there's a giant carnivorous hoofed mammal that's descended from an ancestor of modern-day whales, which is absolutely massive, incredibly smart, and can mimic sounds. It uses human screams to indicate it wants more humans sacrificed to it, or else it'll just break down the village walls and eat everyone. And that's just one random creature in an entire ecosystem that's all derived from Earth animals getting sucked up to another planet by mindless alien bacteria, which just want to increase the biodiversity of their own planet, and left to evolve like crazy. It's all very cool stuff and makes this book seem like the most painful way a tree could've died.
sorry if this was explained i just had this in the background- but how is the honey currency measured? does everyone carry a jar around as a wallet? are there little 1oz jars and big 100oz jars? is that even explained in the book?
For more insect-based apocalypses, there's a James Rollin book featuring an army of wasps that is going to end the world, the name of which escapes me at the moment. It's one of the Sigma Force novels. Edit to add-- maybe the third one wasn't published because of the anti-vaxx undertones to the series?
I read both of these when I was a teen and I remember literally nothing about them except the vague feeling it was boring lol. Also another dystopia I remember reading but don't remember the plot was ACID by Emma pass, maybe it would be a good video idea?
From many years of painful experience, I can confidently say that there is no good way to make a nickname out of 'Fiona'. 'Fo' is among the least objectionable ones I've heard. I always got stuck with something that sounded like a name for a poodle (ex. 'Fifi', 'Fufu'), or just total nonsense ('Rona', which became 'Ronie' and 'RoRo').

Edit: Check the replies for answers to some of the questions and criticisms in the video. Me and my mom are open to answering any questions.
I told my mom about it, and she thought it was really cool that you made a video about her book. She even talked some about the gender swapping stuff. She told me jakie's older brother told Kevin her secret and asked him to go and check on her. She also says the beasts reproduce via sex. The instant love thing is because when she wrote the book before she became a mormon apostate. She was actually really excited to write book 3 she even had the first chapter done, but the publisher refused to buy it. The publishers say she didnt make enough money for them. They frequently wouldn't respond to her emails. They wouldn't to her agent either. She wrote the first book in 6-8 weeks, and was given 12 months to write book 2 while trying to raise me and my three siblings. She is still very sad and frustrated that stung three did not get picked up. I can't think of anything else, but I'm open to any questions.
I was following an author who wrote book 3 and the publisher refused to take it because of poor sales. I assume he was paid already and they just wanted to cut their losses before printing it or publishers are now paying for series per book so they can bail if it isn't Twilight. Idk
I would absolutely ✨love✨ if you covered the Night World series by L.J. Smith, it's a 3 volume ya fantasy romance anthology series with 9 stories total (3 stories per volume) all set in the same universe and taking place in chronological order. The original copyrights for all of the stories are between 1996-1998, well before the fantasy romance boom. A quote from the back of all 3 volumes: "Vampires, werewolves, witches, shapeshifters-they live among us without our knowlage. Night World is their secret society, a secret society with very strict rules. And falling in love breaks all the laws of the Night World." It's been a while since I reread them, but I remember the stories being really sweet and cute, especially the first 3. It actually has some unique lore and they have to stop the apocalypse towards the end of the series (which felt a little tacked on tbh).
Also, regarding the raiders taking only women, that makes no sense not only because some raiders would be gay. Historically, men would be taken as slaves, regular slaves & not sex slaves, by the victors of such raids. Having extra hands on deck that you would feed less, & who were highly disposable, was very lucritive & let the raiding group continue to prosper while forcing other people to serve under them. Capturing men as well as women would always be the best choice in a raiding situation

This sounds hilarious haha love it
Waiting for the No. 6 mention. A BL manga and anime with a futuristic setting, where wasps make people age rapidly and die.
Yay i adore no 6 have the whole set shion and rat are adorable but the story is so sad its nice to finally see someone talk about it
I really need to see the whole shirt , itw deiving me insane
My cat Mickey is currently laying against me and watching this with me. He is entertained
Ahhhh!!! The beees ahhhh!!!! Lol i love all these wild books and you roasting them - cant wait for you to read that hunger book
44:57 honey had no infalton potatos have infaton
Good works James very nice video
11:24 I got the joke, the worst of fates to befall Denver for sure lol
sorry if this was explained i just had this in the background- but how is the honey currency measured? does everyone carry a jar around as a wallet? are there little 1oz jars and big 100oz jars? is that even explained in the book?
For more insect-based apocalypses, there's a James Rollin book featuring an army of wasps that is going to end the world, the name of which escapes me at the moment. It's one of the Sigma Force novels.
Edit to add-- maybe the third one wasn't published because of the anti-vaxx undertones to the series?
I read both of these when I was a teen and I remember literally nothing about them except the vague feeling it was boring lol. Also another dystopia I remember reading but don't remember the plot was ACID by Emma pass, maybe it would be a good video idea?
Lol I thought for a second Wiggins would spell it "Beest" 🤣
44:04 Honey is probiotic, great for preserving other foods, and delicious.
Someone saw John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness and thought, yeah, but what if instead of the Antichrist, it was bees?
this is a bittersweet tale
love the new background
The special thing about honey is it doesn't go bad.
My mom knew someone who went by Feenie
Damn, the prose of these books is exactly like the prose of Umriss
"Bees turning people into zombies!"
Soooooo, Dead rising?
We talkin about pueblo colorado? Aight lemme fight em
James describing such a batsthit plotline while waving an orange toy gun with a psychedelic color background is making me feel like what druggies probably feel when high af
This is absolutely wild.
Speaking of bees, you should check out the 1978 film "The Swarm" and the Black Mirror film "Hated in The Nation."
I kind of wish she would do the last book just to wrap up the story
i mean im 23 and get mistaken for a teenage boy because my voice is high pitched and im only 5'3. I get asked if I am an adult because they think im 13
Also I've owned multiple dogs that didn't like men. I don't know how they know but they do
I saw your critical drinker video, and when I clicked on your channel, I was pleasantly surprised to see my mom's book. Thanks for reviewing it. I'm glad people are still talking about it.
My mom says thank you for taking the time to make the review
there is a book series named project nemeisis that has so many plot twists
I was following an author who wrote book 3 and the publisher refused to take it because of poor sales. I assume he was paid already and they just wanted to cut their losses before printing it or publishers are now paying for series per book so they can bail if it isn't Twilight. Idk
I am disappointed by the lack of zombee puns is this book. Not character would have thought of that?
I actually remember reading this one. I do not remember enjoying it
That sure is ONE way to reveal that you never known the scent of a woman...
And falling in love breaks all the laws of the Night World."
It's been a while since I reread them, but I remember the stories being really sweet and cute, especially the first 3. It actually has some unique lore and they have to stop the apocalypse towards the end of the series (which felt a little tacked on tbh).
you should've gotten Honey to sponsor this one
"A world were food is illegal "
Soviet Union?
Good video
Jaqui sounds like he lives at home his mommy and his daddy. Iykyk
I remember really liking this book in middle school
“in army of the dead the message is that we shouldn’t let zack snyder write movie scripts” 💀💀💀 .
Can Denver not have an Apocalypse, for 5 f****** minutes
I feel there was a missed opportunity to call them Beeasts or zombees
I actually knew a Jacqui (spelled as such)in college. Granted, she was Cuban, but she spelled her name like that.
a zom-bee society could be interesting
You look like my cyberpunk character 😭
Clicked on this video or realize that I've read part of this series as a kid (cured, not stung. For some reason.)
If you hate colorfully spelled names, never meet a Filipino person. 🤣
He trusts them cuz- SHUT UP.
Get off my back about trust
Posting for the algorithm. The blood drinking thing really is weird.
Capturing men as well as women would always be the best choice in a raiding situation
wait a minute if they are hostile how the fuck do you get more members then permanent members btw
@@Nockgun reproduction? Also some people would historically join a hostile nation by choice to avoid becoming a slave or servant
@@BooksandBuns well the issue is that bunch of shoot on sight bloodlusted clans are hard to join if you didn't get executed once seen
1:06 bees turning people into zombies wasn’t that a plot point in dead rising?
Definitely less comfortable with the prop gun than I am with the prop knife
Please please tell me they're at least called "beests"
