Right on dude! BYU has to win AZ St., Houston, and Big 12 championship and they're in the playoffs. The thing is, and you touched on this, the offense has fallen asleep. You're right on with the last 23 possessions. The offense looks troubled. And why? The play calling has lost what it had in the 1st couple weeks, especially at home against K-State. Coach Sitake needs to fix the offensive play calling now. Something has switched with the offensive play calling. Retzlaff looks apprehensive and hogtied in what he feels he's allowed to do. The saddest thing about this for me as an alum '02 is that this team is one of the most talented teams in college football, both as a team, and as individual players, especially on defense. They had, and I believe, still have legendary player, team chemistry. Meaning, they individually love the game of football and they love each other as brothers. They play for each other as brothers. So, what's wrong? The OC. The coaching. The coaching was superb beginning of season. They allowed the boys to be themselves and play. They supported them, with their natural talent and ability. So, like so often the case with managers and bosses, when employees make managers and owners look good, the management and owners get scared, wig out about losing what the employees/players have given them and they start to micromanage the employees/players, which causes, makes the employees/players tight, up-tight, and doesn't allow them or enable them to be themselves. Solution: coaches, back off and let the players play. Stop worrying about the pundits, the stress, the talk of playoffs, and everything else. Let the boys play the game they love and simply support them like you did in spring ball and at the beginning the of the season. You can win the remaining 2 reg. season games. You can win the Big 12 Championship, even against Colorado. You have the stuff. Especially the defensive stuff. But you gotta let em play. Don't micromanage them. Coaches, don't take your stress out on them, the players. I ache for the boys, the players. Coaches win or lose championships for their boys, at any level. I've seen it many times. BYU MUST win the Big 12 championship or they're out. Not that the committee wants them out. It's not that. It's that there are other teams and situations waiting in the wings that really would be more deserving to get the playoff spot over BYU. I love my boys. Like I said, I'm an alum, '02. But I'm also a professional business consultant. Therefore I assess objectively and call a spade a spade. Here, now, BYU has to win out, even win the Big 12 Championship to get in. Otherwise they won't. Personally, I have them ranked around 14 right now. Just outside the playoffs, on the bubble. It's sad to me because if they play like they did at SMU and against K-St., they could compete against any. Coach prime lets his boys do what they do. He lets them play. Sitake needs to do the same. Coach Sitake is saying the right things, but his actions, mannerisms, behavior, and feeling the guys feel from him don't match his words the last couple of games. Coach needs to feel them with a feeling of NO DOUBT! From his heart, not faking it. He need to have them feel he knows without a doubt in his heart they can do this. And if he does, they will. This is the difference between a great coach and a championship coach. It took Andy Ried 30+ years and 3 teams to learn this. And now look at him! Retzaff's INT end of 1st half was not him. It was on the coaches. The way they were running the ball, the play caller should have called creative running plays to score. The RPO is THE best friend of BYU's offense. Guys, we can do this! You did it already at the beginning. It's not that other teams have gotten better. It's that you lost your mojo you had earlier. You can get it back! Just play BABY! You got this! You practice it! It's not a fluke. Trust yourself! Trust each other! And go and do it! You will! I have faith in you. But it's not a matter of faith. It's a matter of the practice and hard work you've put in and will put in this week. Now go and execute it at AZ ST., like you did at UCF, SMU, and Baylor. And yes, drop to your knees and ask the Lord, God, your Heavenly Father, to help you execute what you've practiced. And He will bless you. Like He did in the beginning of the season. Then after, give all glory and credit to him. This is truly how life goes. How life is, even if others don't know or understand it, and don't give glory and credit to God. I've tested this scientifically over and over and over again in my life. It's true. It works. He will bless you for your unselfish efforts to glorify Him. But it's got to be for Him, not you. Only you know that in your heart. And your hearts are there. Why? They were there in the beginning. And Retlaff, well, he's got a strong faith in God his father being a great member of his Jewish faith and community. That's really why we wanted him. We're so grateful to have him among our Christian ranks at the Y. He's wonderful. You do what you do brother Jake. Play your game and you'll be fine. Band together brothers and go win for God and the Lord. It is Their will! Just praise them each step of the way. Prayin for you.
I think BYU is perfectly fine as long as we practice on our weak areas from the past few games and don’t let this loss defeat us. Besides the huge mistake on the punt, we only let them get one touchdown, and if our players just put the unfortunate mistakes behind us from the past few games and learn from them and be more cautious from now on with a good attitude then we’ll be fine. And just because we had a few bad plays doesn’t mean we have to fire our offensive coach. I mean look at the stats.
Great teams are playing their best ball at this point in the season. BYU is playing some of their worst. Arod has sat behind the current like the wizard of oz long enough, time to hire a truly competent OC and Kalani, you better get the offense emotionally prepared for the biggest game of their lives next week because missing out on the BIG12 championship after what the defense has done this year would be tragic.

This game was poorly coached offensively. "The runnig game was working nicely", Sitake says, and they pass with 6 yards to a touchdown interception. Point made
They’re a good team, but when it comes down to athleticism, that’s why Candace really won and that’s the problem they’re gonna have a Colorado if they play them
Say hello to 13-14. That was the prettiest losing football played by any team all season. Too bad a Loss is a Loss. I suspect there is a 3-peat within them down the stretch.
To hear players in post game interviews admit they were too casual and complacent during last week's practices is so disappointing! You play like you practice! If you could see it, then call everyone out on it (including yourself!), and get after it! You were undefeated Cougs! You knew what was at stake! You're going to be getting every team's best being a ranked team with a target on your backs! I'm not not mad they lost. I'm mad at HOW they lost. They didn't get beat by a better team. Two years ago, everyone should've seen this offensive philosophy was maddening. Kalani says he wants to score as many points as possible, but that's not how the offense is run. I wish he'd stop saying it. 13 points? With the offensive weapons he has? The OC's philosophy is straight from Utah. Not going to get us far. Not sure we can keep Jay Hill, if week after week he has to be lights out hoping ARod can do just enough... Whether it's Kalani's or ARod, this "keep-the-game-close" philosophy is boring and not BYU's brand, which ARod has destroyed. But honestly, this looks exactly like 2012.

Why in the world did you run three times instead of passing at the end of the game! Stupid, terrible play calling! BYU has the most inconsistent play calling in the Big 12. Also, stop the run up the middle for no gain and a wasted down.

Been happening for several games. Red zone needs special attention. If going to use the corner fade route Jake needs to put some air under it.
Win or lose coach is classy. Play call selection and QB play final came home to roost,
I think BYU is perfectly fine as long as we practice on our weak areas from the past few games and don’t let this loss defeat us.
Thank you Kalani. Perspective about what is most important is "most important".
BYU OFFENSE REALLY SUCKED TODAY! WHY WOULD YOU THROW IN THAT SITUATION JUST RUN THE BALL! OFFENSE SUCKED TODAY ALL AROUND!
Just play for 1-0 each week. That's all ya gotta do. You can do it!
-- 😢 you will need more than luck to beat ASU in their place -- how do you let a team with a losing record beat you on your own home -- good luck to you come Saturday 😢 --
Why did Jake audible to that option???????? 😭😭😭
you need to work on your defense as if they're too afraid to tackle against the Kansas running play😮🙄
Offence is terrible, defence is good
This game was poorly coached offensively. "The runnig game was working nicely", Sitake says, and they pass with 6 yards to a touchdown interception. Point made
They’re a good team, but when it comes down to athleticism, that’s why Candace really won and that’s the problem they’re gonna have a Colorado if they play them
The OC has to be fired
They shot themselves in the feet multiple times and didn't play to their potential! C'mon Cougs, this is D1 P4 football!
Get rid of A. Rod!!!
TOO MANY MISTAKES ON BYU!
YOU keep acting likes its a good game with just getting 3 points in the half, you mentioned Jay hill is unhappy, He did a great job, HOW does AROD feel????? STOP PROTECTING AROD AND THE OC STAFF, WHAT AND WHY DID WE POOP OUT WITH BAD PLAYS. YOU DID NOT EVEN MENTION AROD.
Jay Hill needs to leave and take a head coaching job.
BYU will take Jay Hill for granted
Average defense? Your defense kept you in the game offense calling and lack of scoring
Kansas had season lows in almost all phases of offense.
CU fan but I don't see how all of the hate is warranted. What if you knew you would only have one loss in the regular season? I think you'd be ok with that.
#FireArod
Unprepared, all on the coaching!
Prepared, 9-1 record is all on the coaching!
@@Kimmer that made zero sense
@@KimmerSuper lazy rebuttal. Anyone with a pulse can see the offense has not been prepared the last two weeks.
@@brettallen1440 Super lazy rebuttal to blame a coaching staff that has a great record this year! If you know so much, why aren't you coaching rather than running your mouth on RUclips channels?
@Kimmer Because I'm not claiming I'd be a better OC. But I'm also not blind enough to ignore that the play calling is holding this team back. Pretty sure we've conversed on BYU in the past and I'm confident you were one of those guys defending Tuiaki too because at the time BYU was winning... If you ran the show BYU would still have Tuiaki running the defense.
U got lucky before
Been lucky all season. Should have lost to Oklahoma state and Utah and Baylor
Got unlucky this game. We completely stopped their run game. How did we lose
Dumb game. My heart breaks. Did 34° on the field cause offensive atrophy? Go Cougars.
DEFENSE NO PRESSURE ON THE QB BAD TACKLING GAVE UP TOO MANY 3RD DOWNS TOO MANY MISS TACKLES NO URGENCY
Retzlaff is the worst qb in the B12, and probably at BYU. BYU defense just can't bail out Retzlaff every game.
OFFENSE BAD PLAY CALLS BAD RUNNING GAME BAD CATCHING COULDN'T EVEN GET FIRST DOWNS COULDN'T EVEN SCORE IN THE RED ZONE LACK OF URGENCY TOO MANY MISTAKES
BYU overrated as always
Retzlaff has been lousy for the past few games. He usually only does well in the last two minutes of each half but lately he hasnt even done that. Might be time to rotate in a new QB.
Retzlaff is terrible, the team deserves better.
CU vs BYU are deserving final 2 for the championship and the game would be electric.
BYU can easily lose to 8-2 Arizona State
AROD is very inconsitant and Sitake needs to quit covering for him, its time to pay for a real OC. This has been a 3 year issue. Defense did its adjustments, Offense did not , YOU have been not learning from this for 3 years. YOU cannot find a way to win, but you need to WIN. YOU dropped a possible 21 points. ASU will kick you. YOU only got 3 points the WHOLE second half. YOUR not getting it. You are lucky. AROD had made my 3 boys hate watching BYU because its up and down. YOU did will with running 3 backs than you STOPPED??????????? Why??? Odd looks is what you plan for. AROD AROD AROD is the issue. Quit protecting him. GET some help in the OC for the rest of the season and then MOVE on to someone else next year, IF Not than you go also.
Yall suck. Really to a 3-6 Kansas. Big 12 should just be excluded from the playoffs.
100% embarrassing underwhelming conference
Good luck in the Holiday bowl BYU 😂😂😂. That's where you belong
They’re still legit a top 20 team they held Kansas to 2.2 yards a carry. The offense is just horrible sometimes
4-6
Gotta stay humble, guys!
What was all the pre-season hype about Bohanon? Maybe he needs to play...Retzlaff has been missing some easy passes.
Start Bohannon. Retzlaff is losing the games for BYU.
Why in the world did you run three times instead of passing at the end of the game! Stupid, terrible play calling! BYU has the most inconsistent play calling in the Big 12. Also, stop the run up the middle for no gain and a wasted down.
Byu wont win another game. Theyve been exposed. All you have to do is watch the utah/kansas game film. They scraped there way through their schedule. They never were a top 10 team. Weak program, bad coaches,. And its so fun to see with their toxic fanbase.
You are not correcting the mistakes you've been making since last year. What an embarrassment. You're wasting everyone's money and support.
Dude chill. We’re 9-1 lol
Typical BYU.
Execution, play calling. Always a problem. Obvious last week and more so this week.
Finally have to stop talking about this team like theyre actually good just because they were undefeated playing nobodies. Being ranked over sec teams what a joke
What an ignorant comment!! BYU's strength of record is 30th in the nation and better than many SEC teams who are yearly over rated! Wow, Alabama just beat up on Mercer - you must be so proud!
SEC SUCKS!!
@@Kimmer South Carolina the 7th ranked team in the sec would annihilate that high school oline byu trouts out every week. Lol
@@mattfraser1096 no exaggeration the big 12 is the worst power 4 conference and will only have one representative in the cfb playoff for that reason. The Sec plays a different sport than you guys
@@hueyhoopinYou made Ute fan...
Not sour grapes… but the coaching is mediocre. That game was lost by them. Every fan freezing their a$$ off saw it!!! Fire A-Rod at the end of the season. Even when they won games it was obvious. The play calling and scheme. Was amateur! Bad time management every game so far! The end of the first half was embarrassing! The offensive coaches showed that they are cowards! This is harsh but so obvious! They called the game afraid. I would be livid if I was playing for them.
I know football. Played it myself and called almost every play by their formation. Their opponents do too. Something needs to change on offense! Jake was piled with hype. It made me sick, he gloated in the attention even though his passing is off, behind the receivers on almost all of his passes.
The players are just kids, of course. But this was destined to happen.
Arizona State will knock them out of the playoffs… still a good season but dream world is over
If we go into the game with the right mindset and play with the right mindset then I think we can absolutely beat ASU. And Arod isn’t and wasn’t the problem. Besides the fade route and maybe a few others, most of the plays were good. Just because there are a few questionable calls doesn’t mean we should fire our offensive coach. I mean look at the stats.
Fire Sitake. He’s been in over his head since he got here. Nice guy. Good recruiter. Terrible X’s and O’s guy. It’s was always going to catch up with him. Thanks for your service but we need a better leader.
Wow,
You need to not comment again! You have no idea what you are talking about! We have won 9 games this year, which is far better than what we were projected! I will say that some of the calls were not the greatest, but you have to give credit to this team on what they have accomplished so far this season!
@ What was Sitake doing before we brought all of the coaches from the U of U? He just sits on the sideline and looks overwhelmed and dumbfounded most of the game. I like the guy but he and the Sitake led Cougars just got exposed.
Moronic statement but not surprised. He doesn’t have the skin tone that most fans from Utah find appealing I’m shocked he lasted this long
@@hueyhoopin I am too.
@@hueyhoopinyou guys love to make everything about race don’t ya.
Why did we stop running the ball. We were running it well and then we passed in the end zone and get picked. They have two good corners, just bad play calling.
