my question and i think its a good one. why did they make that decision to bring pokemon home into this ? sure its awesome to see more pokemon enter the format, but i think a lot of players will agree it also brought pokemons we didnt want to see in the format, aka Tornadus, heatran, urshifu and more. Why let us bring more pokemon if only a few will even be considered ?
i think its a poor decision, even worst, you don't even have the time to experiment around with all of them.

sure ghost storm-drain Gastrodon sounds good at first but remember it's not about blocking JUST Urshifu. Tornadus is there too, not only does this Gastrodon NOT threaten Urshifu offensively (sure he won't be doing damage to you but your Gastro won't be doing much to Urshifu either meaning he's 100% going to smash your other pokemon) but also Tornadus has little to no issue bodying Gastrodon before AND after Tera ghost. the reason for old Tumbleweed here being better is because he can handle both threats at once, as Wolfey says Bramble is immune to everything Tornadus is currently running while at the same time threatens to KO Urshifu and resists his stabs (immune for fighting stab) therefore this particular match up is better to use bramble FOR NOW (meta game is constantly changing after all)

I must say I like the idea of changing the ruleset shortly before world class events. I always felt Pokemon is not only about tactical decisions and predictions, but also about creative and cunning teambuilding. Destibilizing meta will put much more pressure to this teambulding aspect of competition.

On the subject of Grass/Ghost-types, I'm hoping Dhelmise will come back someday, simply due to a funny thing with Tera-ing it
As a refresher, Dhelmise obviously gets STAB on Grass and Ghost moves, but also its only Ability, Steelworker, gives pseudo-STAB to Steel moves, as in they have a 50% boost in power
_So,_ if you had Dhelmise Tera into a type that isn't one of those 3, you could basically have a Pokemon with a moveset of 4 different types, with STAB on technically all of them
And also if you Tera-Steel I _think_ Steel moves would have 2.25× power? Because of the true STAB from becoming Steel + the 1.5× from Steelworker, but don't quote me on that, I don't actually know for sure if it'd work out like that
    Would it be practical? No
But is it really neat? I think so

I wanna point out that Wicked Blow was likely nerfed for parity with Surging Strikes, since the latter's effective BP is 75 when factoring in all three hits. I feel confident in saying this because Calyrex-Ice's signature move, Glacial Lance, was also nerfed from 130 to 120 to be on parity with Shadow's Astral Barrage, despite the former not being nearly as prolific as the latter.
Also, I would love if you made a couple videos on the best New and Returning 'mons in Home, like you did for the start of the gen with the Paldea dex; it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts about them!

I love Brambleghast. I made an immunity team and threw it on the team just for the crazy amount it's immune to. Normal, Fighting, Spore moves, Powder moves, Leech Seed. Immune to and gets a + 1 attack from Blizzard, Heatwave, Hurricane, Icy Wind, Whirlwind, and now the Storm Moves. Also, less used moves like Petal Blizzard and Air Cutter give it a +1 attack and is immune to them.
Brambleghast can do some nasty damage to powerful Pokémon. With Tailwind giving you a +1, you can OHOK things like Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style), Iron Bundle, Great Tusks, and Flutter Mane, and deal crazy damage to things like Iron Hands, Tornadus, Landorus (after Intimidate), and so on.
But it has many, many setbacks. It's walled by things like Rillaboom, Goodra, and Heatran. Pokémon like Chien-Pao can end it before it can attack. Stats aren't great. It's move pool sucks also.
Physical moves it could learn: Knock Off, Night Slash, Foul Play, Pin Missile, Shadow Claw, Acrobatics, Poison Jab, Wil-O-Wisp, Revenge, Play Rough, U-Turn. Not all of them, but some of them would make it better. Also, up its attack to 120 and speed to 100.
I just really like Brambleghast lol.

I've been using Brambleghast since Regulation B and it's always been amazing. I originally used it to deal with Dondozo and Annihilape by pairing it with Pelliper, Talonflame, and Murkrow (all different teams lol). Tailwind giving Brambleghast an Attack boost even while invincible from Phantom Force is insane and helps a lot against matchups like Annihilape, Armarouge and Indeedee, and Flutter Mane. Mine uses an Adamant Nature with a Life Orb and it does some INSANE damage. Definitely one of my favorite pokemon competitively this generation and its sort of bittersweet seeing it get more use. I will be pairing it with my shiny Tornadus (as I'm assuming many others have) to hopefully get some neat stuff going on.

This is a perfect example of what keeps me playing Pokemon. It is one of the only competitive games with such variety and ever evolving metas that rewards creativity and implementation of unique strategies. Seemingly impossible offensive strategies pop up to be hard countered by unexpected previously useless pokemon that find a niche and their time to shine.
The balance team shines best when they have given an underwhelming pokemon a unique toolset that goes unnoticed. I doubt they plan for things like this but giving pokemon unique identities and was of playing allows for situations like this ro even happen.
Too much overlap in similarities of identity makes for a stale game of one thing outclassing everything else in everyway.
Everyday i wish that other companies would attempt to learn this depth in competitive games.
League of legends gets close but tends to prune out unique play styles for balancing, being too afraid of player innovation (also the player base toxicity pressuring others to confirm to conventional builds keeping things stale).

I've been using teams that use Brambleghast and I'll admit, the fact it was overlooked in the meta surprised me. I needed a good Rapid Spinner for my Singles Sandstorm team. My moveset is Spikes, Rapid Spin, Strength Sap, and Infestation. I used it to trap Pokemon like Wooper, Great Tusk, Exploding Forretress, Kilowatrel, Garganacl, and some surprising others, like Palafin and non- Dark STAB Ting-Lu. It is surprisingly good at stall, despite the frailer defenses; so much so that if the Defenses and HP were a little better, I'd argue that B.ghast would be one of the best Curse- using Ghost type Pkmn. Although it lacks Harvest, like Trevenant, it does use Strength Sap superbly well for recovery. Pokemon w/out set up, Taunt or pivoting moves actually had a hard time against this Stall set. It forced the tempo of the match, allowing me to trap and weaken threats, remove hazards, block other Spinners and place my own hazards.
B.ghast did all of that for my Sandstorm team, which honestly, Sandstorm is brutal in this meta, since it's now the only dmg dealing weather. Thanks for covering B.ghast! Like any Pkmn, it has flaws and merits, but I've seen a great potential w it and believe you're right about your prediction.
