This lovely street, not long ago was full of people buying toys, gifts, plum puddings and mince pies, collecting their loved ones as they finish their work, or just enjoying the festive windows. Now the street empties as homes become the gathering places, fires lit, Christmas dinner cooking, ma with her flushed cheeks and apron askew, dad opening bottles and welcoming friends, babies clutching baubles from the tree, little sis sneaking peeks with carefully peeled back wrapping. and brothers hand reaching for the plate of cookies meant for Santa. Granny sees it all but only smiles in utter contentment, her wishes all come true. The very best gift. Have a lovely Christmas everyone, no matter what you hoped for, make it the best it can be.

I have no loved ones as in family but I am feeling so much better than ever before about getting through this Christmas without my son, as he died aged only just 22 almost 9yesrs 6mths ago. What does your family do to celebrate Christmas 🎄?? We set up our fake (but very cute!) Christmas tree 🎄, then decorate it together as a family. When it’s done, it will be adorned with lights and sparkly Christmas garland and ornaments. The best part is the Angel 👼 on top. I used to have a really pretty angel. I don’t remember what happened to her though. I guess I’ll have to get another one soon before the Christmas season starts and prices on everything goes sky high in price 😅. Anyway, we exchange gifts on Christmas morning. Usually home made stuff or artwork, but sometimes we can scrounge up enough money to actually buy some Christmas presents 🎁. Then we cook a large Christmas dinner for most of the day. In my family, everyone helps cook so we can spend time together. On Christmas Eve, we read about the Christmas story (Jesu’s Birth) in the Bible then we eat the food we’ve prepared that day. Last we say our good nights and head to bed 🛌. What do you guys do for Christmas??❤
