The problem with the dunk meter is that you dont see if you are just bad missing or if the green window is just too small to dunk it.

They definitely shouldn’t revert the dunk meter or they should make the green window way way way smaller
Yeah it's very upsetting seeing "Very Early" or "Very Late" when I'm timing it exactly how I always time it. There needs to be an indicator of what you did wrong because then we can work with trial and error.

Don’t get me wrong dunking is definitely still fun this year but I still have a lot of issues and I’m going to list a few here. Mind you I have HOF posterizer on a 6’8 build just for context.
1. It’s way too easy to get kicked out of dunk animations this year sometimes ppl even reach while im going for a meter dunk and it knocks me out the animation
2. No visible green window
3. I feel like I don’t get as many contact dunks it doesn’t pull ppl in most of the time like it did last year which causes an issue because then since they’re not in a poster animation they can jump and kick you out of the dunk.
Definitely felt this im a 6’8 PG with a 94 driving dunk and I lay the ball up more than I dunk
@@SL1M_999 yea I’m wondering if maybe it’s harder for me to dunk because I’m a big body? Cuz I also have high strength so I’m big on top of being 6’8. Idk if smaller slashers are having the same issue. I would say I score more off lobs than I do actual driving dunks to the rim

Was done intentionally to mask how bad contest are and how bad latency is. Basically everyone saw how bull shit the dunk/layup meters were last year even on open looks and so rather than fix it they hid it
Having unlimited VC for being a content creator must be nice. It cost over 350,000 VC to make a 96 overall player. No way am I dropping $250 a year on one game. I’m enjoying this year but this game has become absolutely Materialistic and PTW. It’s the Disney world of games 😢

The game just came out. Grind out my career and streetball like everyone else or PTW. Either way stop complaining, it's been the same ish every year. We finally have a 2k that doesn't take forever to reach 95 overall .

I poster 7'3s with 87 dunk on my 6'3 build. Legend is hella overkill. HoF and 93 is nice, but legend is way over the top imo.
i want to personally say that mike is completely wrong about the meter. all my builds have 87-89 dunks and one even has no vert and i been getting crazy contact animations even putback contacts on 7’0 footers with badges consistently, the meter this year is probably easier than any other year imo u literally just wait until it goes away

The meter is actually pretty easy this year and I don’t get pulled out of every contact like last year by 6’2 guards
I have silver posterizer on a 6’3 guard. I use the dunk meter a lot but in proving grounds i really only use it to guarantee I make a dunk with a big trailing me or slightly out of position

I KNOW it's due to the shooting but it's wild that last year you couldn't leave the AI open, but this year the AIs can't hit much of anything so 5v5 games become 4v5 essentially when they leave AIs open. Frustrating. Would be great to get that guys opinion on it.

Last year I postered ppl with it on silver and I had an 88 driving dunk and a 70 standing dunk on a 6’7…..no meter just double pumping the right trigger and x button holding it on the second pull . It was a Charles Barkley strategy all my created dunks were contacts off two. Or lebron . This didn’t always work on centers in pro am but it damn sure worked on most ppl in rec
If I have to switch to meter this year I’ll probably go back to a jump shooting build
“nba players don’t shoot higher than 45%” it’s a video game! 91+ 3ball, Hot/lethal zones, jump shot boosts, gatorade, workout warrior, hof/legend badges, taking the time to lab your jumpshot timing/visual que. For RNG to then brick wide open shot’s on purpose to keep % down is insanity. Majority of people play the game for fun. Coming home from work and playing this is no longer fun
2k is going to far every year taking attributes,etc it's a simulation basketball game yes but it's also a video game
i have silver posteriser on my 2 builds. I've noticed that a high strength helps and is more efficient than someone with low strength. I play proving grounds and get my posters with silver. Vertical also helps too !
I got 96 driving dunk I’m bodying everybody it’s feeling like 2k23 I feel like once u learn the timing of the meter and u have a high Posterizer and driving dunk u can dunk on anything walking in the paint

you could also go 94 driving dunk and 90 vertical then use +5 cap breakers and get posterizer and aerial wizard at legend and can use your +1 tier 1 for something else

I made your build Joe. Started as a 96 ovr with rebirth. I finally played well in proam.
Anything from behind with the meter is a chase down look like they went back to how it was before where they need to be already camping in the paint
You also get elite contacts off one at 99 dunk, 90 vert. Thats why i made a build at 94 dunk, once i get cap breakers im gonna poster everybody.

You could also go 93 82 for gold and use the level 40 reward to upgrade from gold to legend. That's the easiest for sure
I be talking on ppl with a 89 driving dunk silver poster 7ft big and 6’6 guard 82-85 vert I barely miss regardless of where they standing or badges

I made a 6’8 with high dunk legend after cap breakers and it’s actually more powerful than my shooting builds no one can stop the meter dunks.

You could also save attributes and use the +5 cap breakers then the max +1 badge
As a 6’3 I love the meter dunk because it helps me he straight to the point instead of doing unnecessary layups , yes the meter can be better like you say there are no visual cues to even show the fluctuations so I posterize some times and miss also

Joe I remember from day 1 you where only getting the 360 dunks at the start and I think it was bc they are the only ones the small guard can trigger from further back
You could try using them again to see if you can dunk it from further out
so what I did was set my drive dunk to 91, use a 5 cap break to 96 and then badge +1 for legend dunk, save a lot of overall just being at 91 at the start

Just go 94 then cap breaker to 99. That way you don't lose it every season. While freeing up the +1 to get another badge to HOF or legend.

Don’t equip Legend posterizer without the necessary strength (75 or greater). You’ll be disappointed in some instances when you get knocked out of your contact dunk animation

Yeah Mike wang saying "its like layup meter last year" means literally jack shit when we can't see the green window. This new meter makes literally no sense and there is no logical justification for it. Now we have people using real player % making tight layups with anything over a 70 layup
