Golf R slayer - Tuning our VXR with Superchips
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 июл 2024
- We installed a Superchips Bluefin remap to our recently acquired Insignia VXR. With a standard 0-60 time of 5.6 secs can we get this down to being quicker* than a Golf R?

I’m puzzled as to why you thought you’d get an accurate 0-60 time by yanking the wheel to the right at the beginning of the acceleration…I’ve never seen a 0-60 trial begin by coming out of a lay-by at 45 degrees 🤔
And dumping the clutch roughly 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm surprised the front drive shafts aren't laying on the road lol
Absolutely love that, I need one, I have a blue insignia Vxr and love it but have always wanted some more low down pull! Great video
Would certainly recommend 👌
Amazing results!!
What a legend! Please make more videos
Didn't think an Insignia VXR could hit 0-60 in under 5 seconds, pretty impressive
1 is 4 wheel drive. 2 it's a 2.8 V6 turbo producing 320bhp stock. 320bhp is nothing for this engine, people in the US and Sweden and running 500bhp+ on a stock engine and still reliable.
@@stiggyness1976same as saab holden v6 ...saab aero 2.8 t which i have...same engine..different cam profile..
Theyre a rare sight on the road and for that reason I liked them when they came out.
I want one of these with one of them. Good looking car, great interior and plenty of power.
I'm hopefully getting a VXR at the weekend all been well nice vi mate think i will get this map
Hi John, the bluefin certainly did the job, watching the video the smile says it all 😁,
Indeed Steve. Genuinely surprised when it pulled the 4.8sec
Looks good but a live rolling road remap would be better than just a mail order map in the post.
Funnily enough I have a insignia diesel nothing amazing however it's remapped. At the same time they had one of the older vxr insignias and they were saying they had no idea what vauxhall did when originally mapping the boost and fueling. They advised anyone with a VXR should see them as stock wise it performed poorly.
I hope the turbo link pipes are in good order, very common problem on all 2.8 v6 turbo lumps (Saab, Opel, Vauxhall, Holden, Buick). They crack and cause fueling issues (Over fueling), this can be determined from having very high long term fuel trims. Over £400 from Vauxhall, that's if they can get one.
Must be a GM issue all there cars with intercooler piping have issues
How much is it and where can I buy a one from ??
Why did you start the 0-60 by turning right?
I have one awesome car not got a bluefin map but has a stage 1 on it with limiter removed surprised a few other cars in it
The only thing I'm a little annoyed at, is the rev limit is quite low. I feel the car wants to keep going, but the rev limiter is at 6.4k 🤦♂️
@@splashdetailing9011 it's because the torque compensates for that. It has loads of torque throughout the band as experienced in my Vectra VXR
I have an Astra H VXR still on stock map, but Stage 2+ Hardware. Would this Bluefin Flash be compatible for the Z20LEH? Cheers
Is that a use once only thing ? Or can you do two cars for example?
That won't beat a golf R off the lights. Not a chance
Thanks for your comment buddy
I have one of this beast with stage 1 its insane every 20000-3000miles u need to service your diff otherwise 5k on new one
My bad every 20000-30000 miles
May put the vxr plant with auto box in my saab aero !
You might want to upgrade the Haldex system when pushing more power
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absoluelty incorrect.
Was thinking the same thing all the way through the video. Kept waiting on it going bang! Great looking car though. I have an elite nav diesel auto with a remap. Rotten engine & gbox. Would love a vxr
@@dougiemiller5030 yeah with the gearbox it will just need bigger bearings. Similar Gearbox to my Vectra VXR. Just never really had an interest in the car. I think the Veccy looks like its predecessors than the insignia
How's the clutch on these? Any slippage with the extra power/torque?
Clutch seems fine.... for now.
why pay450 when have it done for less??
Are you trying to do a 0-60 while pulling out on to a road. Or is that the torque steer your trying to control.
Zero torque steer in these
Would be quicker if it was just a straight start
He is a just moving the steering wheel from side to side to make it look like the arse end is sliding all over the place
did you turn all the assist off for the non tuned runs before? edited it out? Because if you didn't that's a major difference.
Hi buddy. Yes, all assist was switched off before the run. Do you have a VXR too?
These have the laziest traction control ever anyway
Had a bluefin map for my veccy VXR waste off money stank off fuel from exhaust and couldn’t pass mot….
How do you know that the air fuel ratios are still ok from using this map yourself? Id definitely get it on the dyno to get it checked just in case lean top end
What do you think the map changes?
@@mrwitteridge3949 huh? You are aware that the map will adjust the fueling being supplied right? Which with it being a generic map may be putting in too much or little fuel. Hence you can't be sure without getting a lamda in the exhaust to check afr
@@bmwe39m5 Of course. Vauxhall didn't fit one in the exhaust of this then. Makes sense.
You've got a Daihatsu mate.
@@mrwitteridge3949 it comes standard with a wideband lamda?
I like the results but im a bit sceptical about only software for this much horsepower, in Germany there is EDS doing software flashing via OBD and they only recommend 365 HP without replacing the intercooler and downpipe. I'd like to see the long term motor longevity. :)
But, enjoy your VXR as I enjoy my OPC the sound of the motor alone is awesome... and even driving on the Nurburgring is a lot of fun. :) Cheers.
The engine has been proven to deliver 500+bhp with upgraded fuel and exhaust system, no engine mods whatsoever and a big turbo.
@@stiggyness1976 really? I want to do this on my 2017 Buick Regal GS.
@@SuperEman500 Yep, just needs 1000cc injectors, tubular exhaust manifolds and a big turbo and a remap to get everything working with each other. 500-600bhp no problems.
@@SuperEman500 ruclips.net/channel/UC_QdRLVJNwRrbKV6tzp6zsw there we go 😊
@@stiggyness1976fmic too ..
How's this working out with the standard clutch and gearbox (hear the latter is a weak point)?
No issues so far, touch wood. 👍
@@splashdetailing9011 that's great to hear. Thanks for the quick reply 👍
What was the factory boost and the boost with the bluefin
It was a while ago now Jason. From what I remember it was 19psi with bluefin. And 12 standard? I may be wrong on the standard figure.
I had a stage 1 got rid of it the bills if things go wrong deep pockets
Haldex £2500
Brake discs £250 each
Clutch £1600 and the fly wheel will more than likely need replacing £1000
That’s just a few bits nice cars and a stage one by Courtney sport real quick 3rd gear is a beast
1600k for clutch? I just had mine done on 15 plate insignia vxr for 550
Nice improvement...but coming out from gravel at the side of the road for a 0-60 is hardly representative of the car's abilities...
Have you noticed anything different with fuel consumption?
Hi Gary. We've sold the car now. However, from memory, fuel consumption wasn't much different.
@@splashdetailing9011 Thanks for quick reply. 🙂
@@Allgood1517 if you have one of these VXRs, we'd definitely recommend the stage 1 remap. It totally transformed the car.
Why did he go into 3rd gear, you can hit 60 in 2nd gear easy.
Never seen a 0-60 start with turning the wheel, lol.
Yeah as soon as he takes of he is changing from first to second gear within half a second he doesn’t know how to change gears properly he doesn’t even know what he is talking about either
Would have been great to hear the car without the TV shopping channel jingle 😜
Are you going into third to get to 60?
Hi Jonathan. No I don't believe so. I think it can do 65 in 2nd. Will have to double check.
The gear ratio's allow to do around 68 in 2md
@@asifnoaman8978 I know, I just thought they were shifting early
Stock Passat R36 would flog this.
You are so badly mistaken my dude. I own decat 3.2 chippet at 268hp. 3.6 pulls me but not too badly. The OPC will fly by me 2x times. You are forgetting that the 3.6 is naturally aspirated and a heavy car.
I’m not mistaken Dude! . My work colleague owns a Insignia VXR in charcoal and has had quite a bit of modification work done to this car. My R36 came factory with a time of 5.6 sec - 100 but I have also had my car modded with Evolve Technik. N/A cars can still pull hard.We went to a local race track and by the time I’m gone he is slowly catching up but by that time we are both doing a ridiculous speed. R36 weighs 1715 Kg, VXR Insignia weighs 1810 kg 🤷♂️.
@@SmokeMirrors-ys7pj I somehow find this hard to believe, but if you have tested I trust on it. However, the OPC with chip goes to 500 nm of torque so I think it will fly off real quick.
As I said I has test driven few OPCs and they feel much quicker than my 3.2 Passat.
Next video throw that Fresh Air to fuck what an distraction 🤦♂️
Want to sell me your used bluefin so I can do mine :P
They stay with the ECU codes so effectively they're redundant once put on a car pal

Quickest way to melt your motor using nasty Chinese remap chip
Standard 5.6 0-60? my ass... Dream on.
🤣🤣🤣 thanks Marcin

@@PECKTHERECK ooh, know nothing about lupo or any shit but dream on, opel fanboy 😂
5.6 is exactly what Parker's say it'll do. Doesn't seem unrealistic for a 320bhp hatch with decent traction at all.
@@mrwitteridge3949 it's a sedan sized car
Paid advertising what a joke
