Feel bad for the dog
Trying to believe it's only chained for short time but not likely
Me too. Short chained and only God knows how it is treated.
I would trade my labor for that Dog! Poor baby just wants love! I couldn't watch anymore if the video because of that poor dog!
Like you said it probably ran like this for years. I'm sure it wasn't always freezing up. Something had to change in order for it to freeze. I'm thinking dirty condenser. It's a mismatched system for sure. But I would of cleaned the condenser to try and bring the subcooling down and raise the superheat. It's a bad install but you could of made it better by cleaning the condenser.
and get a cheap filter or add a second filter rack on other side that filter is to small for 3 ton and to restricting
Nice Curtis you deserve an easy call brother.
Look forward to the replacement Curtis 👍 Au
They went a half ton the wrong way. You could change the evaporator, but just as cost effective and easier to just change the condenser. You knew it too, you have been there, done that. I imagine most would have not even checked for that. Well we all know that you know your stuff. Good call
Thanks
Up here in the Sw Va mountains we’ve went from remotely needing cooling back to full blown heat mode. Since I heat by hydronic wood fired and I ran out of wood I’ll have to freeze it out till the rain clears and I can cut some wood. Great heat if lived in a normal climate region lol
Gotta love those Filtrete filters that are slightly bigger than everyone else’s and don’t fit. It was always fun explaining to customers why their ridiculously expensive filter didn’t fit a “standard” rack or grille
Great find curtis hope you get the change out thanks for the video
I hope so too
I would check air flow. The return air is too small and the filter was being sucked into the grill. I bet the total external static pressure is really high. I would check the AHRI matchups to see the actual btu's of the 3 1/2 ton condenser . Also couldn't tell what type of metering device it had.
If currently using a piston, a Txv may be able to compensate for mismatch
Nice job Curtis!
The heat exchange is only as good as the size of the coil in which the heat is exchanged.
Three and a half tons using the ductwork present in a single-wide?
Nice work Curtis. Hopefully you'll get the replacement.
I can’t even imagine how these A/C techs do this type of crappy work i guess some how the put less freon but the pump is a a fixed output who knows
very few would notice when a dog loves about you, that it will almost talk. How is Lieutenant Riley?
Spoiled
@@HVACGUY That I like.
These people shouldn't be allowed to have dogs! I could go into it, but... God bless you for helping fix the problem!
I was going to do a brand new but costumer thiught I was too high on my bid. The costumer called us because he was having issues with his system and couldn't get the original installer come to find out the condenser is 3.5 and inside coil is only a 2 ton.
that restrictive filter is making issue even worse. Need 1600 cfm over indoor coil, now way through that filter. With an unlimited budget, replacing condenser right thing to do but who has that sort of money now a days. Hope you can work up a more cost effective fix.
Did you See the Fur Coat on that Lady ? Looks to me like she needs a Trim. 😬👍
She needs a new owner.
what does the subcool typically look like in this kinda situation with an undersized evap coil? Would it be high?
❤
Just curious, what kind of TXV did it have?
👍👍👍
Can you upgrade the coil to 3.5 ton instead of replacing the condenser with a 3ton unit. Would that be more cost effective?? Good info 👍
Yes, that’s possible. But, may end up with an oversized system.
This is a mobile home....The preexisting duct work and blower is probably too small for even a 3 ton.
@@grandinosour There is a label in every mobile home that details the duct capability. It is usually on a kitchen cabinet door or in the master bedroom closet.
hey curt! i’m going traveling for work soon, doing something totally different from this but what is that gopro and chest mourning you have? i’d love to record what im fixin to go get in to.
GoPro 12. And snap mount
@@HVACGUY thanks!
MOBILE HOME, NOT trailer! 👍🏻
If it still has the wheels attached....it is a trailer.
I’m currently working for big private company in Virginia and I swear I don’t like they way they work with HVAC systems, they keep push the customer to replace the system instead fixing it, and quotes for fixing it really high also pay technician really cheap 😂 I got stuck with them 2 more years then I might go with different company
Nexstar?
Can you just take some of the freon out that's what equalized it
that make it freeze more need more return air and a cheaper filter
Do you charge extra for going out on a Sunday?😊
disgusting way to keep a pet
Another hack job by a low bidder on the install. When will people learn?
Curtis has become the leave a estimate man.,..... The unit was workable enough to dirty the coil, the filter.. No sense looking for a leak, as the tools just are not reliable and anyone who does not clean their coils yearly, and take the time to replace the filters deserve a replacement......... So, leave an estimate to replace........So, if you own your own business, you can just say no...... right.
Return air on the floor makes a lot of sense if people are concerned about air quality 😷
