I love how drawing people who live in weird houses instantly turned into a dating sim.
honestly i think the Drawfee gang could turn anything into a dating sim. evidence of this is Pose Academy
And a walking sim… somehow
I mean, it's always either that or a new comic
Obviously
@@broblerone413 Pose Academy was wild
Julia said "I have a serious question", and my partner immediately said "I bet you don't" only for Julia to ask about Chester Cheetah and that sent me directly into orbit.
I bet your partner feels real silly now.
I'm imagining you and your partner watching drawfee in a big empty theater like mystery science theater 3000.
Jacob: "you're on a date with this guy"
Karina: "oh no"
Nathan: "sure!"
Sometimes you can really hear Nathan's improv training
Ace representation.
My favorite part about continuing the Cascada bit is that I genuinely can't tell whether Nathan is intentionally setting it up for Karina or if doing the bit on purpose for so long has permanently altered his speech patterns. Every time they do this bit, it gives me life
And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly
I love that Karina was so bamboozled by the oubliette that she completely took seriously Nathan’s joke about forgetting what an oubliette was
I swear I've heard nathan make that same forgot the oubliette joke before, but I can't find it

I love that the "everytime we kiss" bit has come up at least three times since the first ep recorded in 2023, I love that Nathan and Karina just refuse to listen to Jacob abt it.
2023 is the year of Cascada
It’s my new favourite bit, 10/10
I somehow missed the first time it was referenced. So you happen to know which episode it was?
@@seeing8spots can’t say I do but I’d like to know as well
Everyone else refusing to listen to Jacob about anything is my favorite long running Drawfee bit.
Someone should make a compilation of every time Karina makes a Cascada joke that irritates Jacob.
Hi Al! Watching your latest video right after this one. Wuv woo.
I would like to see it!
Jacob is not a Cascada boy.
"We're not DOING THAT BIT ANYMORE-"
12:52 for the timestamp! :D
29:08 i love when Karina makes a tumblr reference that the rest of the crew fully does not pick up on. Her hearing "popping bottles" and immediately responding "the BIGGEST bottles" referencing the iconic "We popping the biggest bottles when Makorra goes canon tomorrow"
It's been like 8 years, and none of us are EVER letting that joke go 😂
Is THAT what the original was? That's so funny I thought it was from that election version when they were like Bernie's going to win as a write-in
There used to be a bar in my city that was Alice in Wonderland themed, and one side of it had really short/small furniture to make you feel big and the other side had really tall tables and stools to make you feel small. There were a bunch of clocks all over the walls and you had to go through two bars and a back corridor to get to it.
the cocktails were great and the vibes were wild, I miss that place.
Jacob's render is so evocative it feels like a panel in the funniest horror manga I love it
Yes! As soon as it faded in I was like "oh I want to read the rest of this comic"
As soon as he mentioned the pit all I could think was "It's my hole! It was made for me!"
Gives me hella Jojo vibes. Like this weird ass dude is totally a stand user.

Yeah, Jacob. It’s a small private room
So private that they forget about you
VERY private...
Greetings fellow SSS enjoyer
literally just came to the comments to find small private room jokes
A room full of corpses
The continual mention of Every Time We Touch followed by Jacob's incessant objection to it really fills me with joy.
In Hoggles voice: ‘this is an oubliette, It’s a place you throw someone to forget about them!” - I got you Julia. I never run out of Laberynth references.
I was hoping someone would have referenced this!
I honestly came to these comments to find ANYONE talking about this 😂
I thought this was the only way anyone had ever heard of an oubliette. As far as I'm concerned it's a word created solely in the world of Labyrinth. 😂
I came to the comments looking for this!
@@tubblebub my first association with the word is mlp - their version of D&D is called “Ogres and Oubliettes”.
I love Jacob's little puppet show, especially when Jacob started glitching while trying to wiggle the eyebrows
Nathan's "JuuuuUuUuuUlia" in the same way she calls out his prompts was fun
Did the bank being located in PAWtucket accidentally seep into Karina’s subconscious and make her draw a man with paws? 😂
"So they're not like an entymologist, they're like a...they're like a bug pervert" 😂
Karina out here making me realize that I didn’t dream up the horrifing little boobas from my childhood. I have been convicted that those were a figment of my imagination for YEARS!
Yes??!!!! Also they're in target???
This episode had everything. Storytelling. Roleplay. Endless bits. Cascada reference. Drawtectives reference. Character creation. Scenes. All it's missing is discussion of Cats (2019).
...and Merobiba
And explicitly calling for DeepBlueInk to animate the conversation pit guy lol
And makeshift animation!
And Spencer insulting someone!
and appallingly flat newman
Julia: mentioned a quite well known tidbit of medieval castle design.
Karina: mentions the wildest insular nonsense I have ever heard.
Drawfee in a nutshell
I only knew what Julia was talking about because of the movie Labyrinth, but I donkinda remember the thing Karina was talking about
I actually knew both references on account of working tangentially with children’s tv in the 2000s… and also being a nerd.
I also knew what an oubliette was due to Labyrinth. I’m hoping that’s the main reason people know it. 😆
I knew what an oubliette was from playing Falling London a couple decades ago now. Somehow, I did not forget.
I'm so glad we got closure on Karina's joke. I was like, "wtf is she talking about?!" Then they reveal my favorite baby drug trip, boobas. It's like teletubbies but like way more trippy and scary. I actually have the purple one at my house.
they were so weird and creepy
I want all the boohbah babies now
I remember seeing that show at like 2am a sleepover, and my friend and I thought we hallucinated it for years
I had the yellow one!! It’s like bald? Why are they bald?
theres no was theres a childrens toy called that
The way Jacob’s drawing was rendered made the whole situation feel a lot more sinister 😭
My gods, Drawfee's energy so far in 2023 has been utterly unimprovable. They sound happy and healthy and _so alive_ . I hope they're able to keep it up.
Knowing the word “oubliette”, I was on board with the prison pit, but I have no idea what baby birds have distracted Karina...
Julia's character looks like she was just informed what a clubhouse is supposed to be.

Unfortunately, I knew both what an oubliette was _and_ what Karina was talking about (can't remember the name for the life of me though). Working hardlines at a supermarket makes you learn a lot about freaky animatronic baby dolls, and how to avoid their tendency to activate whenever you walk by. One of my coworkers swore by combat rolling, but I preferred just sprinting through the aisle as quickly as possible with whatever merchandise I had on me at the time.
"That's a big cool door!" had so much genuine enthusiasm behind it, never change Julia.
I, for one, am here for the new age of Drawfee where Karina is now the one dropping references that NOBODY else gets and it just confuses everyone forever

I cannot believe the amount of bear jokes in this episode WITHOUT a merobiba reference.
the subreddit has broken me lmao
Julia’s “Ah yes, there we go. Enticing.” At 17:19 actually broke me for some reason. The delivery on the “enticing” was just so perfect
Oubliette is a perfectly normal word. Julia is 10000% in the right. On an unrelated note, you guys should do an episode where you all draw eldritch Kermit in a shadowy suit teaching us French vocabulary.
When they get into the set-up for Julia's and Jacob starts the "so you go to her house" and just from the way that Nathan says "northfield ohio..." you know he's typing it into google maps to find out how long to walk there 😂😂
I was waiting for the answer
I'm so glad Karina finally acknowledged Boohbah's because I have thought of them every single time they've ever said "boobas."
The reveal that the witch couldn't finish the spell because she choked to death while snacking on cashews made me laugh so hard that my dog fled the room.
I saw a house for sale on Zillow a couple years back. It looked like it was home to a drug lord back in the 80’s. It was insanely well kept. But EVERYTHING was mirrored. The kitchen cabinets, the refrigerator, the kitchen counters. The living room walls, the tables. It was the most ludicrous thing I’d ever seen.
Mirrored as in the room was symmetrical, or mirrored as in covered in mirrors?
@@deinogreenstreet8631 I'm also wondering this
If my limited knowledge of drug paraphernalia is correct, I'm assuming covered in mirrors
How do they photograph it
painfully i guess
A conversation pit seems like the absolute worst design feature imaginable if you're clumsy, have kids, or some combination of the two. I would absolutely fall into it when trying to navigate the house without lights seeking a midnight snack or drink of water, and would be found even more twisted and hurting than usual the next morning.
The pit is in the basement. Unless you have your snacks down there, you have no reason to go down into the basement at night.
And I'm also pretty sure even clumsy people learn the layout of their homes.
I'd probs fall in as a guest but like assuming proper interior design it really shouldnt be in a "high traffic" part of the home so to speak. Its not the kind of thing you put in a place you would walk through like that one part of your living room that everyone walks through to get in the kitchen.
@@Abegilr_Dragonrider The basement is a great place to keep your snacks if it's a finished basement! But also, I have lived in three different homes just over the course of the past calendar year, and 10 different homes in the past 12 years, so I might not have the same sense of my space you assume I might. 😅
@@Abegilr_Dragonrider speaking on behalf of clumsy people : knowing the layout doesn't help but a pit of sofas is honestly a 10/10 place to fall into
Also. No back support? No cushions? Literally no. 😊
"We're not doing the every time we kiss joke anymore" has now been in so many episodes that it has now become the joke itself. It has evolved.
It's like Milhouse. Milhouse is NOT a meme, but "Milhouse is not a meme" is a meme.
Brad Pitman also looks like some sort of oracle. You have to fight through a dungeon to visit the pit and incantate "Oh Bradman, Bradman of the Pit, what is thy wisdom?" He then emerges from the depths, saying nothing, just raising his eyebrows.
This video has some POWERFUL quotes. My favourite as of now being:
“She was snacking on cashews while cursing meeeh-“
My favorite part was when karina was in tears while talking about the parable of the long stools, all while julia was actively making the stool a very normal length
That parable line is driving me crazy and making my Google history extra weird. Is it a reference?
If no one’s answered this yet, I looked it up and it’s called “Parable of the long spoons”. Apparently, the idea is that in both heaven and hell, there is food but the eating utensils are awfully long. The people in heaven can feed each other with their long spoons since they are nice, but in hell the people are mean (?) or can’t cooperate enough to feed each other, so they starve
@@elizabethgall5327 it could be a reference to one of their streams, although I don't know how it connects to stools... They had a stream (vod at Drawfee Extra) where they discussed “Parable of the long spoons”, and the thumbnail depicts them four attacking god with soup and long spoons. It's a long story.
My first thought for someone who lives in a bank would be like, a burgler who really wants to rob a bank, but is too afraid to actually do it, so she bought a bank house to pretend break-in to it. Because of all this practice, she's actually really good at crackin safes and evading security, but she still has never commited an actual crime in her entire life.
Thank you Karina for bringing up Boobah. I forgot what they were called and it was killing me.
Jacob singing "Ooooh make up a person who lives in the bank!" made me laugh so hard a pulled a muscle and woke up my neighbors. Thanks Drawfee!
Jacob's 'animation' brought me to tears laughing as I watched this before bed. Thank you
"I'm two. yabudi dabudai" really got me. Always the most unexpected musical references
My favorite genre of drawfee is "Karina making weird little noises for weird little dudes".
Jacob's character actually got much less threatening once he got hair. Up until 6:17, I thought we were being taken hostage by the guy from Disturbed.
That looks nothing like The Guy. Looks a little like their lead singer though. 🤘
@@dgthe3 I totally forgot about The Guy, and just meant the lead-singer 🤣
Baldness, in media, tends to be for villains
My gentle gasp of awe and delight when Julia shrunk her drawing
I’m really glad Jacob committed to the SpongeBob theme song for “Just make up a person who lives in the bank” because I heard the musicality when he said it the first time and was worried no one would do it haha
DeepBlueInk is now just expected to animate every episode now
Gotta be rough being talented, but I like that they seem just as excited for the next animation as much as the rest of us
Jacob helped animate some of this one already
I love how Jacobs has a somehow MORE unsettling story when played in reverse. In reverse it is "you were told to meet a guy at this spot. You wait a while and then suddenly the top of a head pops out of the hole. Its the guy! He wiggles his brow and slowly crawls out." AHahaha, also the rendering at the end is gorgeous!
At this point, I scream every time Karina gets in an "every time we kiss"
And every time I swear I can fly
The fact that they created the absolute icon that is merobiba and have yet to callback to it is really a power move. Everyone is talking about merobiba in the comments but it hasn’t re-entered the drawfee canon- it entered the universe as quickly as it left
29:13 I’m 99% sure Karina made a “popping the biggest bottles when Makorra becomes canon tomorrow” joke and I’m upset nobody else noticed
i didnt think it was a reference to that specifically lol but now im laughing about that again
Karina's interests are like she lives in 2013-2016 still, and I'm here for it. That was a great time to be alive.

As a Rhode Islander I find their very deliberate pronunciation of the "paw" in Pawtucket very funny. We want to get through words fast and will sacrifice annunciation to get there so we say Puhtucket as well as Rud Island with all the sounds running into each other.
As a fellow Rhode Islander who now lives in the South, I've had to explain to so many people that "it's not PAWtucket. It's Puhtuckit. Like 'the bucket'."

Confession, even though the name is HORRIBLE I've always kind of liked the idea of the conversation pit and wanted to live somewhere with one
If you line it with blankets and pillows, that just sounds like the ultimate chill zone. Though dragging the vacuum cleaner down to clean it sounds like a massive pain.

Inexplicably, I got both Karina’s and Julia’s esoteric references in the first drawing, albeit not immediately.
I recognized the term oubliette, but I needed a reminder on what exactly it was.
I initially had no idea what Karina was talking about, but then she said the actual name and the image flashed on screen, and I recognized what she was talking about instantly.
This whole episode is, frankly, esoteric madness. The stumbling over sentences, the absurd hypothetical scenarios, the strange real estate… between this, the Medieval words episode, and turning Drawfee into a government funded program in the patch notes episode, 2023 is lookin’ to be the most inexplicable year of the Drawfee yet.
