"No justice" for Abu Akleh’s death, Gaza media targeted

- Shireen Abu Akleh, the highly respected Al Jazeera correspondent, was shot dead by an Israeli soldier two years ago. To this day, her niece, Lina Abu Akleh says she and her family have been unable to hold anyone accountable, and in the process they’ve witnessed the systematic killing of many more journalists by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip.
“The fact that there was no justice for Shireen has paved the way for the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists in Gaza.”

l think it's very important for Al Jazeera reporters to cover the war and have atleast 200 reporters standing in the middle of an active war zone covering the battle and monitoring the position and location of IDF troops.

I am very sorry for the death of your aunt, Shireen Abu Akleh, shot by the Israeli military while working as a journalist for Al Jazeera in the West Bank, and for all the other deaths of Palestinian journalists - 142 of them - who have been killed since the Israeli military assault on Gaza began seven months ago.
I really hope that the International Criminal Court agrees to investigate Shireen's case and that of all the other unlawful killing of people who were doing their best in extremely dangerous situations to bring the truth of what is happening in Palestine to the world.

All at the expense of human lives. The world will never forget that the Saudis have a 500 billion dollar holiday resort to build which is why they do nothing. Then of course, Israel wants Gaza for a trade route, oil and gas resources and a resort of their own. Will any sentient being work on these projects or choose these destinations as a holiday choice!..

Very disheartening
The sad truth is that if Shireen had not been a US citizen, her case wouldn't have got any traction at all outside of Palestine. The fact that the international media (apart from al-Jazeera, her own network) picked up on this brutal affair and that the IDF finally had to admit that it wasn't simply an accident with a careless reporter hiding among anarchist rebels etc, is because her US passport got America involved: the US normally looks into cases where US national civilians are getting killed abroad during a war or the like.
Hundreds of Palestinian/Arab journalists have been killed or badly hurt during the Gaza war over the last seven months, but since they are "only" Palestinians or Arabs, there is no interest in them from the global media.
Allah is able to take care of the doers of injustice, and in sha Allah, He will definitely do that in due course.

The US is pretty good about hiding the killing of its citizens and military by israel. They helped bury information of Israel attacking the U.S.S. Liberty in 1967. Israel knew it was an American ship and jammed their communications. 34 killed and 171 wounded. The attack only stopped when Liberty crewmen were able to get a message out to the carrier group they were assigned to.
Correct, although it gets covered but the investigation, if any, usually gets dropped. Don't forget Rachel Corrie. Another shocking one is uss liberty. The cover up and the payments to silence the families...
Shireen was excellent journalist of Palestine.

I feel sorry for her loss. For those considering choosing journalism as a career, a word of advice. It is VERY dangerous to cover a war zone or an area of conflict. You may wish to reconsider. My friend, a great guy, was a cameraman covering some kind of conflict in Burkino Faso and was killed there.
Dont forget, Shireen Abd-Akleh was chatolic, when her wake was raided by israel forces to the point that her casket almost fallen, all palestinian no matter what faith or not having one at all, banded together to secure her casket to the cemetery. I was enrage watching that.

Even in the most unjust circumstances, justice is still done. We are all witnesses to the injustice and that is as good as any court can do. The cameras captured the killing and it cannot be denied except by the most evil people. Even if a court had decided guilt yet still they would deny as they are evil.
