- With the increase of dengue fever in Dimapur, the fruit rate has skyrocketed in the district. In regards to this NLTV took a ground report at New Market, Dimapur. During the report, it came to light that several fruit sellers are not following the fixed rate made by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC)

DMC must check the market price strictly not only the fruits but also the grocery items etc.for welfare of consumers.
The black shirt have no respect on top of he is showing attitude. He don't even care about the dmc chart.

In other state we purchased for per kg in between 120 to 150 ...in Nagaland fruits are too much price not only pomegranate

If DMC give them a fixed rate, they should check in weekly basis or so on, but if they leave without checking the shop keepers will sell on there own...so the concern authority should do their duties ....

Not only fruits . Today i bought beef, where they keep all the meat separately for Rs 400 per kg. And the remaining are left only with bones and skin is for Rs 300. So i asked ,do the DMC rate chart mention , why is it like that . He told me kikoribo na malik enaka hai koribi koise .
So if we go for DMC rate will take home only " harti & jamara" ghur manu khan mangsu anise kobole bi sorum , manu la nahoi kena kota la ase.
My guggestion is if DMC publishe latest chart list in social networks or any websites (Eg.. Whatsaap group is easy to share ) many of us will check it before we step out so the traders will not fool us by any means.

Quality of the fruit should be rigorously inspected over price. Last month, I purchased 1kg of pomegranate and was surprised to find it filled with food coloring instead of natural juice.
Here I am eating discolor pome from my backyard kitchen garden 😅

@MKI_NG How is it related to tax? Tax from the UG's is reflected on the prices. I'm more concerned about the qualities of fruits that are sold in the markets with food coloring to make them appear appealing.

Appreciate NLTV for pursuing this kind of journalism for the benefit of the general public. It's been observed that the fruit sellers in particular has taken advantage of the demand of fruits due to dengue and making money out of the misfortune of others. Apple season starts in August and it's October now, this is peak apple season where it should be least priced but compared to few months ago where we would get fuji apples for 230 per kg, now they're charging Rs. 300 as wholesale rate. Same with pomegranate. Dragon fruit and avocadoes and other imported fruits are out of reach of common people. The DMC representatives should check the prices of items in the market compared to the price set weekly at least to benefit the public.
Why not Price charts of different fruits be put up by the shops side. They will play hide and seek game.
