Blizzard makes everything suitable for the mass nowadays. D3 is the equivalent of a McDonalds drive-thru. You order, pay and eat it in your car. All done in 5 minutes without any thought put into it. PoE is more like a carefully planned visit to the top restaurant in town with your wife or husband. More people want a cheap and quick meal, but that doesn't make it better or worse. Although it's easier and faster, some people like to sit down and enjoy a *real* meal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

man.. i swear when i heard this in game, i thought this was a remake/cover of some pop song that i knew. Similar to how Westworld made classical versions of pop songs for their soundtrack. I was LOVING that idea, but now i feel crazy that no one else has said the same thing. It's especially that part, the note progression of the guitar starting at 3:52, that reminds me of something.
I normally keep the music off, but turned it back on recently just because of this one theme. I also love that little musical flourish when you open the mines.
Acts 1-5 you are immersed in the ambience and the story. 6-10 is where the story is gets to the backseat drive. After completion, story is in the trunk along with all the junk you have collected that is now useless. But this track... This track makes me want to be a sellsword/support character at highgate, guiding new characters to the final step in the story in a continuous loop.
Act 4's Music really shows that Wraelcast is fucked. From the woman's voice in the background to the sinister music that continues throughout. What makes this even more creepier is how far we've come as the (Player) the (Hero) so-to-speak... but I feel like the new expansion of us gaining Gods Powers to become a God is leading more towards the corrupt side of PoE. What I mean is that this music represents the real Evil; Us. And why do I think its the Player as the Evil? Well, look what we have done... we caused more destruction to Act 2- we've also possibly created far more Evil by destroying the Top Most Evil in Wraelcast. But now I'm thinking that we've made a path for new demons & even more fked up protagonists coming to take over.
Wish there was a genre for this style of music, mainly with the female vocals/singing... anyone got suggestions on how to find more of that kind of vocal work with ambient music?

Definitely the best town theme in the game so far. It gives me the same chills the Tristram theme did way back in Diablo 1, and I love that.
