    Thanks very much for this review. Nice, practical experience and point of view. Very helpful to me in deciding on this gun - I already have a Briley-modified Benelli Supersport II Performance Shop in 12 gauge and love it. I know it is just a matter of time before I get an O/U and this just helps confirm I’ll stick with Benelli for the same reason you gave - Parazzis and Krieghoffs are great guns but just cannot justify the spend....

    Thank you for your honest review . I feel the same as you I would like to have the custom fit without spending at least 12,000 dollars .

    Hi trainwreck777... I've been following and reading your criticisms and reviews about the BENELLI 828u Sport for a long time... which are enlightening... and I'm grateful for the help you provide to those who admire this gun, but don't yet own it, which is the my case... and now I come to the end of this time... I would like to ask... in short, a verdict on the 828u Sport... and recommend the purchase... I am on the verge of purchasing for the practice of TRAP....
    thanks...

    Just bought a 828U used in UK , it’s a really good gun and very low recoil . The only issue I have is the trigger assembly removal tool is missing and I can’t find a replacement over here . A very unique gun in looks and performance . I’ve tried to order a tool from USA but they don’t seem to want to ship to UK . Going to have to make one . Do you have the gauge of wire the tool is , that would be helpful . Thanks 🙏

    Thanks for the review! I know there is a way to remove the auto safety, but is there a way to disengage the ejectors to make it just have extractors. It looks like you open and close the action very smoothly. Did it come out of the box like that? I currently shoot a Performance Shop Super Sport and I think the 828u Sport will be my next purchase.

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  4 года назад +1

      The sport does NOT have the auto safety thing. Different trigger mechanism from the field gun. I’m not sure there’s even an option for auto safety. As for extract instead of eject, I can’t contemplate a situation where one would want that, but there probably a way to disable it....but not officially.

    • @203patrick08

      The recoil is normal(?) for a 12 gauge over under. I wear a recoil pad in my vest. I have no issues shooting a round of sporting clays (100 shells).

    Hi,
    Thank you for you review.
    What would you say about new trigger in compare with hunting version, which was terrible.
    Benelli says like it is crisp as breaking a glass rod.
    please comment
    Tahnks

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  5 лет назад

      Kvaratskhelia Taras It is a very nice trigger. It’s pretty light, and definitely crisp. Not sure about the whole glass rod thing, but it is definitely a quality trigger. It’s not a target rifle trigger (which I wouldn’t want, anyway), but it’s in the ball park.

    • @andrewseamaster
      @andrewseamaster 4 года назад

      I had the black field and agree the trigger was poor. The one on the sport is the same dimensions but the feel is much better and crisper and you can move the blade forward and back. I didn't notice it after a while but to me its the small size of the trigger as compared to a normal target shotgun that took me time to get used to.

    Good review, and nice to see one from someone who has actually shot a few rounds before doing the review :)
    What chokes are you using? Do you change them (depending on what you are shooting)?

    Hello, I was curious if it has always broken up that easy? I went to a nearby gun store and when I tried to break it open the lever is super easy at first and takes a final very hard push to finally get it to break? Does it just need to be broken in?

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  4 года назад +2

      Yes, mine was stiff on the shelf as well. It isn’t lubricated (like any new gun). Once I lubricated everything it was much better, and yes, it has loosened up a little since new, but not much. But that’s the whole point of the locking block. It doesn’t wear down the hinge.

    • @gradengrabowski9261
      @gradengrabowski9261 4 года назад

      Trainwreck777 When you bought this did you compare it to any others like a browning citori 725 or any beretta or Cz? If you did why did you pick the Benelli? I’m just wondering because I can’t make up my mind on basically a 725 or the Benelli or a Beretta Silver pigeon or the cz all American

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  4 года назад

      Graden Grabowski. Yes, I shot the Citori 725 and Berretta (Silver Pigeon?). Did not shoot a CZ. I bought it because it fit me best. It felt right. Just go shoot them. Find what works for you. For me the Benelli fit best, plus I could adjust comb and drop, add weight, and move the trigger (think you can move the trigger with most).

    • @BigO4185

      I have a Beretta 694 that cost $4500 and a Benelli 828U that cost $2800 and they both perform the same. They are both Awesome! Better that my Browning 725 prosport.

    What’s the difference between the sport and the field 828U

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  3 года назад +1

      Mostly, the SPORT has a steel receiver (so it’s heavier), much better trigger and no auto safety. It’s designed to be fired a lot. It’s also almost twice the price of the field gun.

  • @Max-tm5mi

    I´m considering buying this gun. But I´ve heared/read that there are issues with the firing pins. Especially the on of the lower barrel doesn`t strike the cartridge. Do you have experienced any of that?

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  4 года назад

      I’ve had zero issues. When I shoot trap I alternate using the top and bottom barrels. I’ve never had a misfire from the lower (or upper) barrel. The gun has never skipped a beat. I really love it.

    Can you use slugs through this type of shotgun? Yes I'm a newbie.

    • @203patrick08
      @203patrick08  4 года назад

      Not really. It uses chokes, and it isn’t rifled. If you put an open cylinder choke on it, I guess you could shoot slugs through???? But if you want to shoot slugs, you need shot gun with a slug barrel. Slug barrels don’t have chokes, and they are rifled to stabilize the slug. If you’re looking for a dual purpose gun, get a Remington 1100, and buy a separate slug barrel (so you have 2 barrels, shot and slug). The barrels are easily changed out. Or buy two guns.....
