Thargoid scythes use missiles which force passengers/ escape pods to be jettisoned. This is what happens here. However, their missiles can be disrupted using an ecm. I recommend using an ecm when running rescue missions it will keep scythes away long enough for you to jump

What also helps: Boosting at 450 minimum. Using heat sinks to stay below 20% heat.
