All my gear is alpinestars, 5 jackets 2 pants , airbag vest...and sport gloves, etc etc.... but when it comes to boot dainese is awesome 👌...simple, no stupid toys, very effective (rain never comes from back zip on dainese goretex), practical (zip at back very easy to wear), not bulky crappy look...perfect protection, the one of most difficult to bend...easy to walk after motorcycle, it last more, because it has less toy and very robust...only little bit narrow at front part...if you are a fat boy not so comfortable...it doesn't fit my alpinestars gear, but I will always buy dainese boots...no question...tried many boots
I can dig it, to each his own! At least you're not so loyal to one brand that you deprive yourself from what 's better for you. I really wanted to like the Daineses, but that narrower toe box just won't work with these bunions lol. Thanks for sharing!

What's good fam. You made a good decision, both boots will last a long time. Been running the smx v2's for a while without problems. That color scheme on the smx v2's matches that bike damn good. Have a good weekend & ride safe.

Now I seen multiple complaints about the toe box for the Dainese's... but I pulled the trigger for them anyway BECAUSE they're majority white. I ride but I plan on custom coloring them into Vegeta boots for a party outfit. The next closest in color were the Thor Radial MX's. If the Alpine's had the same white colorway I definitely would've got them instead.
I hope they're not too uncomfortable! For walking, I know the Alpinestars are way more comfortable! I painted all of the black on my Alpinestars white. I also painted my 1 piece suit. I'm big on DIY customization. Nothing like having a 1/1!
I have these AStars (but unvented and a different colour) and love them; great, walkable street boot with good protection ... I only wear my Supertechs on the track now (not so great for walking in off the bike!!)
I find the dainese super comfortable and light. I don’t have a wide foot so they fit me perfect. I have a older pair of alpinestar and I find them stiff and tight
I really don't have a wide foot either, as I've never needed a wide size shoe. I'm not sure why the Dainese was so tight on me. Maybe Alpinestars have made changes, 'cause these bad boys are still extremely comfortable! 2 crashes and almost 2 years later lol.
My Torque D1 Out lasted 2.5 years of heavy useage before I ruined the zippers. The SMX Plus V2, about 9 to 10 months before the left zipper got unhooked at the bottom stop. Still seem to work for now and can't find a cobbler that can fix it. I'll probably go back to Dainese and get the Torque 3 next.
@@Master_Yoshi Yeah, Dainese is Italian cut, so for slender people. If you want something more "generous", RST is more forgivable. That's why I have Dainese/spidi leathers in summer when I'm fit and RST in winter when my belly doesn't fit in. :D
If you had gone up one size in the Dianastay's would that have worked for you? Or, was the length in size 45 already good? I'm curious because I have bunions too and I appreciate this video very much!
First off I love your username 😂😂, But I don't think going up a size would help. The length was spot on, same as Alpinestars. From what I hear Dainastay is more cut for European folks who tend to be more slim than Americans. Same for their leathers.
Brother when they ask that question say it’s better ! One big reason the hyper yellow and white pair make you more visible it’s all about standing out on these roads ! Variation and bold colors

This was an excellent video. I was trying to decided between a pair of SMX V2 and Dainese Nexus boots. I found the Dainese boots to hurt the top of my feet and I tried them for a week around the house and I wore the SMX V2' around the house as well. Now I am going to compare the SMX Plus V2 with the SMX V2 boots and see what I think and see if it is worth the money. Do you have an opinion about the SMX Plus V2 VS the SMX V2 boots? ( I hope this is not confusing). The SMX V2 boots squeak and at first I thought something was stuck on my boot but later learned they make odd sounds. Does your do that? The boots look very good from this video and do you think there is a looks dfference between the SMX V2 VS Plus? Thanks. I would like to see you do an update if possible the good the bad and ugly of it.

Ordered me so me US13 Dainese's (also third time's the charm - it is in fact Dai-ness-say :) ), we gon' see how they feel like when they arrive. I do have a more narrow foot, so I'm assuming I'll be fine, but it remains to be seen, I'll keep u updated in a month or so. Great review bro!
Thanks for the video! I was looking at both boots and think I will stick with my original decision, Alpinestar. I do recommend buying a back up pair of the calf straps. I was trying a new pair on and had one snap off in my hand.

Its just the Dainese feel like it has a more narrow width, but length was the same. For some reason Alpinestars says that the 45 fits like a 10.5 US. Dainese says 45 fits like 11.5 US. Dainese is more accurate with their conversion. I hope I didn't over complicate that lol.

They can be a little difficult, but only if the boot is bent when trying to zip up. By that I mean, think of your foot flat on the ground, and your knee over your toes. Your ankle is flexed and it's harder to zip. If your ankle is not flexed, like it is when you're standing straight up, then it's easy. They were never really stiff to begin with, but yes they have become a little softer
@@Master_Yoshi Cool thanks! Did the toe box area loosen up at all? I got 2 sizes, one size basically slips in, easy to zip, comfy at the top but has a HEAP of ankle and heel space.. The other size fits like a 2nd set of skin but is hard to zip and feels just a little bit cramped but not bad. Pretty torn between the 2 hahah

Aye man, this that end of the day ash😅. But as far as price point goes, man it's hard to tell if something is really worth the price unless you crash and see how well they protect. I was rocking good ol fashioned work boots with hard heels and steel toes before I bought these. I will say atleast get a work boot if you don't want too spend much, i think they are cheaper than riding sneakers. Idk which protects best though my man. So many tradeoffs in the world motorcycle gear lol
I would think so! From my understanding Dainese as a whole, is tailored for slim folks. I ordered both and just paid return shipping, $15 was well worth being able to make the best decision.

Thanks for watching! My calves aren't big, but I've heard that Alpinestars usually fits bigger bodied people better. These boots in particular seem to have enough room for big calves, but I'm not 100% sure on that!
@@Master_Yoshi ok I just watched a video on the rex boots and I got them to fit. I had to loosen the entire boot and unstrap the bottom buckle by my toes. They have been in my closet for 23 months because I thought they did not fit. The tags are still on these damn boots!

For me, it's the narrower design that made it uncomfortable. Just as a long oval helmet would cause discomfort on a round oval head. What leads you to believe Dainese has more protection though?
@@Master_Yoshi Yeah the dainese boot is definitely on the narrower side. The dainese boot also has a reinforced toe and is a little beefy around that area. I'm on the fence right now between these two, the alpinestars boot is more comfortable for me as well.

Thanks for the comment! yes the v2 plus squeaks like crazy too. They do look different from the v2, I believe the plus is Newer iteration of the boot.

The red looks SO good! Are your A* boots hard to zip up?? Did they loosen at all and break in?
They can be a little difficult, but only if the boot is bent when trying to zip up. By that I mean, think of your foot flat on the ground, and your knee over your toes. Your ankle is flexed and it's harder to zip. If your ankle is not flexed, like it is when you're standing straight up, then it's easy.
