② 丸太から木のカップを作る。 Making wooden cup .で加工した材料の外周を削ります。
ドリルで持ち手部分に穴をあけ、角を丸めて整える工程です。
使っている小刀は先の細い栗小刀といいます。
細かい作業に向いている刃物で、登場回数の多い手道具です。
撮影前に小刀を研いだので爪に研ぎ汁が入ってしまいました。
キャンプなどで使うククサを自作される方は、木工用のドリル、小刀、紙やすりがあればDIYできるので、是非挑戦してみて下さい。

Make a cup of wood from a log. Cut the outer circumference of the material processed with Making wooden cup.
Drill a hole in the handle part, drill the corner and prepare it.
The katana we are using is called a thin chestnut cutter.
It is a cutting tool suitable for detailed work, and it is a handy tool with a lot of appearances.
I sharpened a knife before shooting, so the sharpened juice has gone into the nail.
Those who make their own cups for camping etc. can do DIY if there is a drill for woodworking, a knife, sandpaper, please try by all means.

........ Caught myself drooling over those giant shop machines.... Belt sander that's like 3ft by 8in and a drill press that rests in the cloud's! The cup was amazing but those tools were god mode

This would be the traditional way of making Finnish Kuksa. When you use a birch gnarl, your kuksa will last a lifetime without splitting:

Exceptionally beautiful work. I can't imagine how you can make these at a price people would be willing to pay, and still leave profit for you. You're a true artist and I admire your work.
Maybe you can survive in rural Asia on those cups. In the US you'd be selling them for $1000/ea to afford basic healthcare and a mortgage, both of which are inflated by crony capitalists.

Максимально залипательное видео. Очень крутая обработка дерева, но по эстетическим качествам электро инструменты конечно не сравнятся с ручными.
