Hi there! Enjoyed the video. Where was this filmed? My husband and I are trying to figure out what the D’s stand for as well as the long pipes that hang in between the tracks(I assume it’s to count cars????).
It wasn't all filmed at the same spot, but the majority, and what you're referring to, is a St Denis MARC station in Baltimore County, Maryland. I believe the D's stand for Delay in Block. You can read about it about halfway down this page - www.trainweb.org/oldmainline/wascpl.htm
All mainlines are closed in PA getting ready for a hazardous storm heading our way but i did see one stopped one ns loco coal train. We are heading home so maybe i might take a photo of it
The kcs merger, I just hope they keep the kcs paint scheme somehow. The rarest locomotive I've seen, not really sure, as I've seen many that no longer exist, so obviously they are rare. One engine that I caught and never saw again was a red us army switcher in st denis, which evidently was rare because I never heard aboutcanouther one coming through.

2 things. What are your thoughts on the CP and KCS merger and what's the rarest train locomotive you have seen?
